make it possible (for N) to do 構文について
Get PDF本論文の目的は、可能を表すmake it possible (for N) to do 構文を共時的・通時的に記述することである。英語学の世界では、可能と言えばもっぱらmodality という文脈の中でcan が研究され、can との対比でbe able to が言及されることがほとんであるように思われる。本論文では、共時的記述のデータはBrown Corpus とFrown Corpusを用い、通時的記述のデータはOED の2 版を用いた。結果として共時的にはたとえば、主語は基本的に抽象名詞であり、動詞の時制は、現在形、過去形、現在完了形などの事実志向の時制が中心である。to 不定詞に現れる動詞は、「振る舞いと意志」、「場所と場所の変化」、「心と概念」の概念領域などであった。本論文で調べた全ての項目において、論理的に出現できる可能性の全てが生起できる訳ではなく、それぞれの項目の生起には偏りが見られ、これがこの構文の特徴となっていることが分かった。通時的には、この構文は1860 年代にmake it possible to do 型として出現し、50 年後の1910 年代にmake it possible for N to do 型へと構文が複雑化したことなどが分かった。departmental bulletin pape

Clinical outcomes in patients with adamantinoma: Report from the bone and soft tissue tumor registry in Japan
Get PDFBackground:Adamantinomas are rare malignant bone tumors. Due to their lowincidence, there are few reports on the clinical results of adamantinoma.
Objectives:This study aims to clarify outcomes in patients with adamantinoma usingdata from the National Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Registry.
Methods:From 2006 to 2019, 38 cases of tibial origin were included. Twenty‐fourwere male and 14 were female, with a mean age of 37 (6–87) years and a meanfollow‐up of 35 (1–128) months.
Results:Surgery was performed in 33 cases (87%) (curettage: 4 cases, wideresection: 27 cases, amputation: 2 cases). Reconstruction was performed in 27patients who underwent wide resection. A total of 12 additional surgeries wereperformed in 11 patients. The main reason for the additional surgeries was nonunionof grafting bone in 6 cases. Oncologic outcomes were DOC (death from othercauses) in one case and NED (no evidence of disease) in 37 cases.
Conclusions:The results of treatment of adamantinomas in Japan have beenextremely favorable. This may be due in part to the large number of cases with wideresection.journal articl
