Tree Detection and Localization Approach for UAV-based Forest Inspection
This paper addressed an UAV-based solution for forest inspection from the aspect of data processing. Insect infected trees can be identified from aerial imagery. The forest inspection data processing divided into two main phases, which are tree detection and tree localization. For the tree detection task, the Deep Learning-based approach has been used. In this study, a conventional and active learning method have been used for the training. In order to map the detected trees from the video frame to geographical locations, a custom geo-localization algorithm has been developed. The proposed system loads the inspection video as an input and calculates and outputs the detected trees’ GPS coordinates. In the calculation Digital Elevation Model and camera parameters are used in addition to drone geo-data to calculate the tree positions
In transport and linking processes, continuous conveyors with chains made of engineering thermoplastics, preferably polyoxymethylene (POM), are increasingly being used. Worn chains, which are used in industrial applications for an average of 2-10 years under a wide variety of load and environmental conditions, are replaced and currently disposed of in the residual waste. The article analyses the mechanical and tribological properties of homo- and copolymeric POM during multiple processing and blending of the material types. Based on this, a recyclate was produced from POM conveyor chains that had been used in industrial applications for several years. Samples and chains were made from this material for further investigations. It is shown that the valuable plastics can be successfully recycled and reprocessed into new components
The Impact on Learning Motivation of Spatial Ability Development Learning Model and Interactive Dynamic Tools
This paper reports a study on investigating how different instructional approaches with and without interactive dynamic software affected students’ learning motivation and their concept formation of ideas within a framework of descriptive geometry. Learning motivation was measured by taking an Intrinsic Motivation Inventory questionnaire from three groups of students and comparing the answers of the three groups: one control and two experimental groups

Realization of Fuzzy Logic Controller in Microgrid for Mongolian case
This paper presents the development and simulation of photovoltaic (PV), wind turbine and battery energy storage system (BESS) based microgrid in a Mongolian case. Although many standalone solar and wind microgrids are installed in Mongolia, they are not operating at total capacity and reliably due to a lack of control and proper use. The microgrid system operates in autonomous mode to serve the loads. To effectively control the microgrid voltage and frequency and achieve smoother power flow control between the generation and consumption, voltage–frequency (V/F) control based on the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is proposed. Even though there are sudden load variations in the system and fluctuations in PV output power, the microgrid voltage and frequency are effectively maintained within limits by the proposed FLC. A fuzzy logic controller is used for an off-grid operated Microgrid constituted by the solar system, wind system and battery. The PV, wind turbine and BESS based microgrid system are simulated using Matlab/Simulink
Study Results of the e-Learning Readiness of Mongolian Students
While the pandemic has increased the use of e-learning in education, access varies by location. In order to determine what kind of policy support is needed to support e-learning in the future, it was found that the readiness of students for e-learning is at average level. The purpose of this study is the correlation between the e-learning readiness and technical skills, the ability to communicate with the teacher, the ability to communicate with colleagues, and the communication skills of our country\u27s high school students using an international survey questionnaire. Research analysis were done using SPSS. According to the study results, the location of the schools, the age and gender of the students do not affect the e-learning readiness. However, the fact that the student has his own computer and has sufficient Internet access affects the readiness of e-learning. According to the correlation analysis, technical competence, communication competence with the teacher, communication competence with colleagues, and communication competence are positively related to each other. Also, a survey of students\u27 e-readiness was taken from the teacher, and a discrepancy was observed between the students and the teachers
The Evaluation Result of Online Master Course During Pandemic: Case of Industrial Management Course at Mongolian University of Science and Technology
This paper describes shortly about Mongolia, its higher education in current days, teaching during pandemic in Mongolia and evaluation of online master course at Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). Mongolia is a developing country and the engineering education is one of the important issues of country development. There are comparatively high number of higher education institutions in country which proves need of families to support education of their children. The MUST is a public university which offers the most engineering study courses. The MUST offers bachelor, master and doctor programs in different fields. This paper covers teaching of master courses for “Industrial Management” professions at Graduate School of Business. Due to the pandemic situation the teaching format switched from traditional to fully online mode without any preparation time. Since winter semester of 2022 teaching format returned to face-to-face mode but it is still important to figure out feedback from students who attended master courses fully online during pandemic. Therefore, this paper describes evaluation model and evaluation results for the master course “Industrial Management”
The Irrationality of Digital Medicine: VR, IoT and AI in Practice
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has potential to change the tasks that are currently being done by Human being. The Internet of Things (IoT) has potential to increase Medical Device connectivity, enabling more immediate information sharing and coordination between doctors and patients. Virtual reality (VR) has potential to enhance medical training. Digital Health technologies have the power to expand coverage of healthcare (access), enhance services (quality) and reduce/optimize resources (cost). Affordability, infrastructure, and human capability limits overall impacts of Digital Health technologies and must be addressed.
