Assessment of a Solar PV System Installation on the Roof of a Building
In recent years, there has been a growing trend to install solar panels on the roofs of buildings in Ulaanbaatar. These systems play an important role in improving the independence of electricity supply and reducing urban greenhouse gas emissions. Some roof surfaces in urban buildings are unsuitable for installing solar systems. This study assessed the suitability of solar energy resources and installing solar power systems on the roofs of buildings in urban areas. It also identifies factors affecting the roof that are suitable for installing a solar electrical system. The 15 kW system installed on the roof of the 8th building of the MUST was designed using PVsol software, and the results were developed. The solar energy level on the roof of the building is Ri = 0.78, indicating that it is a highly suitable roof for installing solar power systems

The Current Situation and Prospects of Higher Education of Engineering and Technology in Mongolia
In this study, we conducted a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the development policy and planning documents of our country, the quantitative and statistical data of the last 5 years of studies of students in this field, and the research data obtained from 86 educational institutions to determine the status and prospects of higher education of engineering technology in Mongolia. Due to the growing demand in the labor market for higher education specialists in engineering technology at the level of Mongolia, it is necessary to develop material and human resource planning for training qualified engineers and technicians in accordance with the development policy of active economic sectors
Digital Education and Future Skills of Public Servants
The COVID-19 pandemic is a game changer in capacity development. It has enabled governments to recognize that aside from shifting to digital processes and procedures, digital technology can also contribute to the development of capacities as well as future skills of public servants.
This paper discusses digital education and its role in developing the capacities and future skills of public servants in the context of the Master of Public Management Program of the University of the Philippines Open University. It also presents how activities can be re-designed to develop future skills.
‘Learners’ Trove’: A Learner Centric Initiative Using DSpace
At a time when the learner is occupying the center stage in the whole process of knowledge dissemination and assimilation, it is time for the centers of learning, particularly the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to provide learning resources in multiple formats that are fully mapped to their course curricula. ‘Learners’ Trove’ is one such innovation that takes advantage of the power of Information and Communication Technologies to provide digital platform of learning resources to the students and teachers. Objective: The paper discusses the challenges faced by the students of a semi-urban college in conventional methods in accessing suitable content for their studies and how the introduction of ‘Learners’ Trove’ – a digital platform of learning resources enabled better access to learning resources in multiple formats. Technology or Method: DSpace, a popular open access repository software is used as a platform to host various formats of learning resources. Results: Multimedia learning resources such as ebooks, e journal articles, videos, audios, presentations, scanned copies of the notes distributed by the teachers in the classrooms, simulations, previous years’ question papers, etc., are mapped to the syllabi of respective programs and hosted on a searchable platform, resulting in greater student satisfaction and better performance of the students. Conclusions: There is a palpable sense of optimism among students and teachers about this digital platform and more and more users are actively making use of this platform for their academics. Clinical Impact: Owing to the ready acceptance of Learners’ Trove by the college students, many colleges run by the Society and other colleges in vicinity are now considering designing and developing a similar platform for their faculty and students
Application of microstructured fiber sensor in the field of temperature detection
A fiber temperature sensor based on no core fiber-few mode fiber-no core fiber (NCF-FMF-NCF) is proposed. It consists of two segments of NCF and a segment of FMF, with the NCF fused at both ends of the FMF. Meanwhile, the lengths of the NCF and FMF were optimized by simulation simulations and experimental validation. The results show that the sensor has a high sensitivity to the external refractive index (RI) changes, and enables a wide range of ambient temperature measurement. A sensitivity of 0.09445nm/? was obtained in a temperature range of 25-70?. The sensor has the advantages of high stability, good linear fit and simple structure
Implementation of Project-Based Learning for Freshmen in Online Learning During COVID-19 Pandemic
The engineering project course in the form of project-based learning at GMIT, Mongolia, is adapted from the engineering program at the Technical University of Darmstadt and has been implemented since 2014. The transition from traditional to online learning during COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the engineering education process. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the engineering project course is conducted online. The current study presents the analysis of questionnaire surveys done during COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 pandemics and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of online learning
Load Flow, Load Loss and Short Circuit Analysis of The Third Thermal Power Plant’s Electrical Supply System
The third thermal power plant is one of the largest in Mongolia, generating about 30% of Mongolia\u27s electricity and more than 60% of Ulaanbaatar\u27s thermal energy. Although Mongolia\u27s electricity consumption has grown steadily, no new power plants have been built to meet this increased demand. This increase in load and the intermittent characteristic of renewable energy have adversely affected thermal power plants\u27 sustainability. Therefore, to study how the static and dynamic transition process of the power plant is affecting the operation, the 110kV 35kV 10kV 6kV general circuit scheme was fully modelled on Powerfactory software to analyse the performance of the load flow, load loss, voltage level, determination of the loading condition, balanced and unbalanced short circuit calculation results are demonstrated
