IDENTIFIKASI KANDUNGAN MINYAK ALPUKAT SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU INDUSTRI KOSMETIK
This research has been done regarding to the identification avocado oil (Persea americana.Mill) composition as raw material of cosmetic industry. The usage of the avocado in the West Sumatera is still limited, meanwhile, it has two functions which never known by people. It concerns about the amount of the flesh of avocado and the useness for staple and cosmetics. In this research, the researcher will choose high-yielding variety and local variety in Solok, West Sumatera. This is caused by Solok has a good potential which has a plenty of avocados per year which shown by the statistics Plants of food and Holticulture from West Sumatera at 2012 that Solok has a sharp amount of the production Avocado around 27.281 ton per year. In this research, the oil that is gotten by the process of extraction at the solvent uses a dark-green soxhlet. Then it will be achieved some amount of avocado oils from high -yielding variety at 5,31% and 16,11% on local variety from a wet-basis. On the other hand, it will be then achieved the characteristics of physic-chemistry from the extraction. The composition of fatty acid in the arrangement of Trigliserida can be found by making an early derivation by processing of Methyl Ester. This research shows that a high yielding veriety consists of caprilate acid (1,68%), caprate acid (1,93%), laurate acid (8,62%), miristate acid (3,92%), palmitate acid (20,53%), palmitoleate acid (1,08%), stearate acid (5,61%), oleate acid (26,34%), linolenate acid (4,59%). Baside that, for the local variety consists of caprilate acid (0,92%), laurate acid(9,41%), miristate acid (4,00%), palmitate acid (14,44%), palmitoleate acid (0,84%), oleate acid (14,81%), linolenate acid (1,36%), with the total of Trigliserida component from the avocado oil at 73,85% and 45,78% for a local avocado oil. At the result, the highest percentage of fatty acid is oleate acid, basides, the composition of laurate and palmitate acid is big enough while both fatty acid of high-yielding and local variety come to a laurin-palmito-olein
Landslide Density Based on Time Series
Abstract—Landslide density analysis based on a temporal landslide distribution over three different years was conducted in Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia. The analysis involved landslides that occurred in 1984, 2009 and 2012. The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between the physical parameter and landslide density analysis based on temporal landslide distribution. This is the preliminary study for landslide hazard assessment. Landslides in these three assessment years were identified based on aerial photographs interpretation. The landslides detail has to be digitised as points and the point density was calculated using 1 km x 1 km grid on the landslide inventory map. From the analysis, there were 494 landslides distributed across the assessment years and by using the natural break classification, the landslide density map was classified into three classes of density, resulting low (1 landslide), moderate (2-3 landslides) and high (>4 landslides). Based on the landslide density analysis, there are 48 km2 that were identified as highly susceptible to landslide. Out of the high landslide density area, 46km2 were indicated as the most susceptible location for landslides due to the type of lithology that may lead to land sliding. This study indicates that the lithology played an important role as they can influence the geomorphologic process, and can induce landslides. As a conclusion, this study found that using the grid technique is an effective way to determine landslide density and detail investigation should be conducted to minimize the impact of landslide occurrences before any development could take place.

KARAKTERISKTIK BACKSCATTER CITRA ALOS PALSAR POLARISASI HH DAN HV TERHADAP PARAMETER BIOFISIK HUTAN DI SEBAGIAN TAMAN NASIONAL KERINCI SEBLAT
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is one kind of an active remote sensing system, utilizing microwave to records the earth surface. One of the SAR’s satellites is ALOS PALSAR which is capable of penetrating clouds so that the underlying objects can be identified. ALOS PALSAR has a polarization system operating with single beam polarization (HH or HV), dual polarization (HH + HV or VV + VH) and full polarization (HH + HV + VH + VV). This study aims to use the backscatter value of ALOS PALSAR's image for monitoring and mapping the forest. The Utilization of ALOS PALSAR imagery to measure forest biophysical parameters and saturation levels identified based on backscatter sensitivity. Image extraction is done through image calibration where the digital value is converted to sigma naught backscatter value then the result of calibration unit is changed to decibels. Backscatter sensitivity depends on forest structure which can affect scattering mechanism. The backscatter value is also influenced by humidity and weather dynamics which can also affect the dielectric constant. The result of accurate classification of land use polarization fall in HH accuracy of 62,4%. Whereas for HV polarization accuracy obtained equal to 74,88%.
