In this paper we discuss the dynamics of exchange rate of Euro (EUR) relative to United States dollar (USD). The data is observed from daily data in the period 1 January 2005 to 31 December 2012. In this period of global financial crisis which is affected the global economy. Therefore, an understanding of the exchange rate of EUR relative to USD is required. The Data is presented in the form of a diagram of a candlestick (candle). Statistical analysis on a mean of exchange rate of EUR relative to USD is applied to each monthly candle representation. The mean may vary per candle, which means that the mean as a function of time. A function of mean relative to time so commonly referred to as a moving average, or a trend. The continous of a trend is approached with linear interpolation and  polynomial interpolation is based on the mean of the candle every month. The mean and standard deviation of exchange rate of EUR relative to USD generates a probability density function (pdf). A pdf is based on the assumption that the dynamics is normally distributed. The mean is dependent on time is called temporal probability density function (t-pdf). The trend of the dynamics of exchange rate of  EUR relative to USD is implicitly represented in the t-pdf. By knowing t-pdf will help investors know the dynamics of the exchange rate of the EUR against the USD. Keywords: dynamics, exchange rate, candlestick, t-pd

Krui is a capital of Pesisir Barat Regency of Lampung Province which has important values on residential areas, business centers, government centers, and tourism destination. Kruis coast is adjacent to the Indian Ocean, which has the high wave characteristic cause the dynamic coastal process similarly to other sandy beaches on the west coast of Sumatera Island. The coastal process can be shown in the form of either coastline accretion due to sedimentation or shoreline reduction caused by the phenomenon of erosion and abrasion. The coastal process can be observed as a natural process to achieve an equilibrium of sediment transport along the coast. Also, Shoreline change is influenced by the height waves and the direction of incoming waves towards onshore depending on the season. The aims of this study is to get an overview of the shoreline changes that occur on the Krui Coast. Then it can be predicted the position of the coastline in the future. The regression model was chosen to estimate the position of shoreline in the future by utilizing a set of time-series data that refers to shoreline change within certain periods. Digitized Landsat-7 ETM+ satellite imagery is conducted in order to obtain shoreline position data in every year determinate as historical data. Based on this study, the rate of shoreline change in Krui Coast is within range of 0,12 meters/year to 41,35 meters/year, where is the shoreline change tends to increase. This article proposes a design of 400 watt inverter with frequency of 50 Hz at voltage of 12 Vdc input and 220 Vac output. This inverter is designed to convert the Direct Current (DC) into Alternating Current (AC) voltage with the purpose to utilize DC electricity generated by renewable energy. Hence, the energy can be employed as the replacement of the commercial electricity. In this research, the inverter is designed with the use of Switching High Frequency (SHF) method as the amplifier system applied for step up input voltage. Besides, the proposed inverter also utilizes the Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) method as the driver resulting the output signal in the form of pure-sine-wave. Furthermore, the switching system for SHF method in this research employs Arduino nano as the control and EGS002 as the SPWM driver. To obtain the real data, the examination is performed with connecting the inverter directly to the load, e.g., bulb, fan, and solder. Finally, the examination and analysis of the implementation result confirm that the design works well and fulfills the expected specification. Hence, this inverter design can be expected to provide the scientific contribution and applied for renewable energy especially in Indonesia, and generally in the world. Shoreline change is a natural process caused by the transported sediment generated by nearshore current to preserve the mass rates. Shoreline change can be a shoreline loss called abrasion as well as shoreline expansion due to sedimentation called accretion. Abrasion and accretion phenomenon can be regarded as a threat if they cause damage or potentially disrupts human activity. Identification of land use as well as geographical and physical condition of a region can be approached by satellite image analysis. This research uses Landsat Satellite imagery to observe shoreline changes based on the position of shoreline recorded through satellite images of 2004, 2010, and 2016. The image of one period overlapped with other period images is used to calculate the increment or decrease of shoreline occurring at a particular location. The results of this study will show the trend of increasing or decreasing the shoreline based on certain time and positio

Numerical Investigation of Electrospray Working Performance on Ethanol

    Get PDF
Electrospray as an alternative method to fabricate thin film is studied. High voltage is required by the electrospray system. The requirement of high voltage is different for various liquid depending on the surface tension property. Ethanol was used to resemble the solvent used in thin film deposition. From the experimental work, jetting performance did not occur despite of the high applied voltage which is around 1 KV. In this work, numerical calculation is carried out to find the reason behind of unsuccessful jetting at 1 KV applied voltage. The percentage of Rayleigh limit is around 0.4. Electrospray performance at walking distance 5 mm using ethanol is predicted to be stable when the applied high voltage is approximately 1.1 KV. The numerical investigation indicates that the jetting performance will occur if the applied voltage is more than 1.1 KV

    Get PDF
Sumatran Fault is one of hazard located in Sumatra Island. Southern segment of Sumatran fault is one of sources of earthquakes in Lampung Province. Hazard map is used as consideration in developing region. The source of hazard comes from stress accumulation of crust which can be derived from movement of points in surface. The study of points or monitoring bench mark to accommodate more precise fault movement or slip and stress accumulation is important for sustainable development in Lampung Province. Tool used for analysis is geographic information system especially buffer analysis. Available monitoring bench mark is analysed so that each bench mark can be classified based on its contribution of fault movement based on distance from segment of current fault. High class bench marks are prioritized to be used as survey sites to monitor fault movement. The other analysis is analysis to obtain region that lack bench mark to monitor segment of current fault or even discover new fault which is branch of segment of current fault. The result of this research is there are four high class bench marks. 58.54% of total segments of 164.020 km long Sumatran fault in Lampung Province is segments with no monitoring bench marks. Three most possible district to build bench mark are Airhitam, Lemong, and Ngambur District

    Get PDF
Longshore sediment transport is one of the main factors influencing coastal geomorphology along the Krui Coast, Pesisir Barat of Lampung. Longshore sediment transport is closely related to the longshore current that is generated when waves break obliquely to the coast. The growth of waves depends upon wind velocity, the duration of the wind, and the distance over which the wind blow called fetch. The daily data of wind speed and direction are forecast from European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). This study examines for predicting longshore sediment transport rate using empirical method. The wave height and period were calculated using Shore Protection Manual (SPM) 1984 method and the longshore sediment transport estimation based on the CERC formula, which also includes the wave period, beach slope, sediment grain size, and breaking waves type. Based on the use CERC formula it is known that from the Southeast direction (Qlst(1) ) the sediment transport discharge is 2.394 m3/s, in 1 (one) year the amount of sediment transport reaches 75,495,718 m3/s. Whereas from the northwest direction of (Qlst(2)) the sediment transport debit is 2.472 m3/s, in 1 (one) year the amount of sediment transport reaches 77,951,925 m3/s
