Mangrove forests are one of the coastal ecosystems that are under pressure due to antrophogenic activities, including land conversions to fishponds or aquaculture. On the other hand, the needs for seafood products from these aquaculture activities tend to increase annually. These situations become paradoxes that are often encountered within aquaculture management in Indonesia. Punduh Pidada Subdistrict is one of the areas in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung, that severely suffered from mangrove forest conversion into fishponds. The purposes of this study were to identify the trends in mangrove cover changes over 30 years and to design a mangrove rehabilitation plan in Punduh Pidada Subdistrict. This study used a time-series data of Landsat satellite imagery over 30 years, from 1989 to 2019. The results showed a significant decrease in the mangrove cover areas over 30 years at 83.34 Ha with an average mangrove cover losses at 30.5%. Three zones that are suitable for mangrove rehabilitation plan was then choosen based on the levels of mangrove loss areas, namely first priority rehabilitation plan covering zone 1 (1.7 Ha) and zone 2 (1.5 ha) and the second priority rehabilitation plan covering zone 3 (7.5 Ha).  With a planting distance of 1 x 2 meter, the total of seeds needed for the rehabilitation planning are 8,500 seeds for zone 1, 7,500 seeds for zone 2, and 27,500 seeds for zone 3

Identifikasi Keberadaan Intrusi Air Laut pada Kawasan Pemukiman di Sekitar Pesisir Pantai Daerah Desa Sukajaya Lempasing Kecamatan Teluk Pandan

    Get PDF
Sukajaya Lempasing is one of the villages located in Teluk Pandan District, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province. Sukajaya Lempasing Village was chosen as a place for research because of its position on the east coast which is directly adjacent to Lampung Bay, of which its groundwater is suspected to be contaminated by seawater, causing the water to be brackish. Field observation, data collection, as well as lithology and air control are needed to see the geological and hydrogeological conditions of this area. Based on the physical and chemical parameters, the well of Hamlet 7 has groundwater and there is no indication of sea water intrusion because the area is very close to hills which may become a catchment area so that groundwater flows out to sea with high pressure. Based on the salinity, TDS, and conductivity values obtained, the well that experienced seawater intrusion was the AJR3 well because it is located closest to the coastline and is supported by an alluvial sediment aquifer that has moderate to high aquifer productivity. The quality of water based on physical parameter data from wells in Hamlet 1, Hamlet 7 and sample AJR4 Hamlet 3 is classified as clean and suitable for daily use. The lithology in the form of alluvial deposits allows seawater intrusion, especially in areas close to the shoreline such as the AJR3 well

Desain Turbin Angin Horisontal untuk Area Kecepatan Angin Rendah dengan Airfoil S826

    Get PDF
This research aims to determine performance of turbine rotor performance with a single rotor blade model with a diameter of 0.6 m that has been developed by NORCOWE, while for turbine rotor blades used is the NREL S826 airfoil series. The wind turbines are operated at wind speed intervals of 1-5 m / s. This parameter will also present data in the form of the optimal point of wind turbine rotation and rotor rotation speed. The pitch angles used are 25 °, 30 °, and 35 °. The pitch angle that affects the value of the ideal rotational speed with the highest optimization for the horizontal airfoil turbine S826 is 30 ° with a wind speed of 5 m / s and a rotation of 570 RPM. This is because the greater the pitch angle of the installation, the easier it will be to experience speed trimming but is vulnerable to too large an angle of attack that causes a stall

Possibility and Effects of Recycling Vinyl-Banner Waste into Fired-Clay Bricks for Home Industry in Lampung

    Get PDF
Bricks are regarded as important material in building constructions. Basically, brick is processed by mixing clay and water then burnt under high temperature for a certain duration. Previous study in Indonesia shows that mixing local clay with additional materials could improve its characteristic, especially in terms of water absorption potentiality. Lampung has home industries which run brick making business traditionally. Moreover, this year Indonesian government has been organizing regional elections which attract campaigners to produce more vinyl banners as advertising media. As the event has already passed, vinyl banners eventually become environmental issue since they are not yet well managed. The aim of this study is to investigate the possibility and effect of red bricks mixtures along with vinyl banner waste. Fired-clay bricks dimensions including length, width, and height are 19 cm, 9.5 cm, and 5 cm respectively. Measurement has done by employing water absorption tests. Waste-added bricks absorb more water than the conventional one, about 11% higher. However, rice-husk-ash-added bricks perform similar to the normal bricks, it has slow rate of water absorption. Absorption rate of waste-added bricks also fast and exceed the conventional and RHA-added bricks. Modified red bricks surfaces are uneven, they show cracks and rough edges
