    Sedimentary Facies of Seblat Formation Semaka Districts, Lampung, Indonesia

    Seblat Formation had been exposed in Sedayu village, Lampung. Stratigraphic measurements and detailed description at several outcrops was performed on Seblat Formation. The facies of Seblat Formation base on sedimentological study can be divided into to two facies, classical turbidtes and slump. Classical turbidites in study area characterized by monotonous sandstone intercalated with mudstone and slump facies consist of mudstone and fine-grained sandstone with total thickness around 5 meters and the thickness of each layer ranges from 3-13 centimeters. Based on two sedimentary facies, mid fan (smooth-channelled) and inner fan is proposed for Seblat Formation

    Linear Array Thinning with Cavity backed U-slot Patch Antenna using Genetic Algorithm

    In this paper, a thinned linear array with Cavity backed U-slot Patch has been investigated using the Genetic Algorithm to minimize peak sidelobe level and the number of antenna elements. One of the essential steps in the Genetic Algorithm method is a crossover, which uses the Paired Top Ten and Combined Top Five rules applied to the Cavity backed U-slot Patch antenna. The peak sidelobe level value is -18.63 dB with a array filling of 63.33% at the broadside angle using Combined Top Five rules. In Paired Top Ten, the peak sidelobe level value is -19.48 dB with a array filling of 70%. The two methods are still better as compared to a dense array. This study is essential in the development of radar technologies since it needs a low sidelobe level

    Mangga kweni (Mangifera odorata Griff) merupakan salah satu jenis mangga yang cukup banyak dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat dan banyak dimafaatkan dalam pembuatan sambal, khususnya di daerah Lampung dan Palembang. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk saus sambal kweni instan dengan penambahan asam sitrat dan perlakuan sterilisasi. Variasi konsentrasi asam sitrat dalam penelitian ini adalah 0%, 0,1%, 0,3%, dan 0,5%, dengan durasi sterilisasi  20 menit dan 35 menit. Pengujian yang dilakukan terhadap saus sambal kweni berupa analisis sifat fisik, kimia, dan sensoris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi pemberian asam sitrat dan lama sterilisasi berpengaruh signifikan (p<0,05)  terhadap kadar air, nilai pH, viskositas dan warna. hasil analisis sensoris berdasar uji tingkat kesukaan (hedonik), menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antar sampel, namun secara keseluruhan atribut (overall), sampel D yang disterilisasi 35 menit adalah yang paling disukai panelis

    Size reduction of pesticide formulation can improve its performance to pest and disease control in plant.  Size reduction methods were high speed agitation, ultrasonic emulsification, high pressure homogenization, microfluidic and membrane emulsification. Homogenizer and sonication methods were most widely used because its high effectivity in size reduction. The purpose of this research was to identify the effect of size reduction on physico chemical properties of the insecticide formulation by adding palm oil surfactant. The method of this research was to make an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation using 15% active ingredient of emamectin benzoate, xylene, cationic surfactant of 1%, nonionic surfactants of 6% with DEA and APG surfactant ratio of 2:3. This formulation was mixed using Homogenizer at a speed of 4000 rpm and sonication with frequencies of 42 kHz at various times of 15, 30 and 45 minutes. The best result of this research was using sonication method for 45 minutes. The best physico-chemical properties were emulsion stability after 2 hours, cream formation after 24 hours emulsion, particle size of 0.70 μm with homogenous dispersion, surface tension of 25.54 dyne/cm, contact angle at 0 minutes of 25.05â° and contact angle after 15 minutes of 0â°

    Most of the R&D on Direct Methanol Alkaline Fuel Cell (DMAFC) concentrates on electrode catalyst and appropriate electrolyte to improve the efficiency. Mostly, a Pt-based electrocatalyst was used. In this research, Nickel foam and membrane silver as non-noble metal catalysts were used in a square-shaped fuel cell stack of 15 x 15 cm in size. The ionic current in the Direct Methanol Alkaline Fuel Cell (DMAFC) was due to the conduction of hydroxide ions. Potassium hydroxide which plays an essential role in delivering hydroxide ions was used in this study. The electrolyte effect of potassium hydroxide was studied in different concentrations for the methanol oxidation reaction. Nickel foam and membrane silver were used for methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). 1 M, 3 M, 5 M concentration of potassium hydroxide and 0.5 M, 1 M, 2 M, 3 M, 4 M, 5 M of methanol as a fuel have been conducted. The highest maximum power density of 543.35 mW/cm2 was obtained at 2,331 mA/cm2 of current density using the 5 M KOH and 0,5 M fuel.     Komparasi Indikator Rumah Layak Huni dan Permukiman Kumuh Indonesia: Studi Kasus Kota Bandar Lampung

    Perkembangan Kota yang tidak diantisipasi adalah awal dari munculnya permasalahan perumahan dan permukiman. Di Indonesia permasalahan permukiman dikelompokkan menjadi empat macam, yaitu permasalahan backlog perumahan, rumah tidak layak huni, permukiman kumuh dan rumah liar. Bila diobservasi, penampakan fisik permukiman kumuh dan rumah tidak layak huni tidak jauh berbeda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi kesesuaian indikator untuk permukiman kumuh dan rumah layak huni. Unit amatan dan analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah pemenuhan indikator rumah layak huni di permukiman kumuh Kota Bandar Lampung dan perbandingan indikator permukiman kumuh dan rumah layak huni Indonesia dengan beberapa negara lain (Malaysia, Korea, Australia, Kanada, dan Inggris). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deduktif kuantitatif dan teknik analisis uji fisher exact dan komparasi indikator. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) tidak signifikannya hubungan pemenuhan indikator rumah layak huni dan kekumuhan dan (2) Indikator Rumah Layak Huni beberapa negara lain (Malaysia, Korea, Australia, Kanada, dan Inggris). Indikator tersebut merupakan gabungan dari Indikator permukiman kumuh dan rumah layak huni milik Indonesia. Dengan adanya penelitian ini, diharapkan Indikator penentuan permukiman kumuh dan rumah layak huni dapat diintegrasikan sehingga dapat mengefektifkan dan mengefisienkan penanganan permasalahan permukiman di Indonesia

    Potassium Cyanide (KCN) Content in Coral Reefs and Its Effect on The Abundance of Indicator-Fishes in The Anambas Islands

    The coral reef ecosystem has been continuously degraded in various parts of Indonesia, including the Anambas Islands. This research aimed to discover the content of Potassium Cyanide (KCN) accumulated on corals and the effect on indicator fishes abundance in the Anambas Islands. This research was conducted at 25 observation stations in the Anambas Islands National Marine Protected Area. The potassium cyanide (KCN) content was tested with the principle of titration and distillation. The coral samples used ranged from 10-20 g diluted in 100-200 ml distilled water. The method used to determine the abundance of indicator fish was underwater visual census or UVC, which recorded fish in every station. This research recorded 307 fish individuals from 14 species of the Chaetodontidae family. Potassium Cyanide's content on corals was high ranging from 0,009-0,032 mg/L with an average 0,0205 mg/L. We concluded that there was a negative correlation between the content of Potassium Cyanide  (KCN) on corals and indicator fishes abundance, which means the higher the Potassium Cyanide content (KCN) is on corals, the lower the indicator fishes abundance will point out

    Predicting Multi-Epitope Peptide Cancer Vaccine from Novel TAA Topo48

    Cancer is one of the most lethal diseases. Recently, cancer immunotherapy has a tremendous achievement in cancer treatment. A certain number of cancer based epitope vaccines with different moiety have been discovered. In japan, several clinical tests of cancer based epitope vaccine derived from tumor associated antigens (TAAs) are now ongoing or have recently been completed. a novel of TAAs potentially as cancer vaccine have been retrieved from a fragment weighed 48kDa derived from human DNA-topoisomerase 1 (TOP1) called Topo48. Therefore, it is still critical to discover a derived Topo48 epitope based cancer vaccine. Immuno-informatics considered as a methods noted to have better accuracy to design promising vaccine candidates. Here, continuous and discontinuous B-cell epitopes following with CTL epitopes and their docking interaction to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I Human Leukocyte Antigens (HLA)- A0201 were predicted. Kolaskar-Tongaonkar’s, Emini’s, Karpus-Schulz’s, and Parker’s methods were used to predict continuous B-cell epitopes while ElliPro was used for prediction of discontinued B-cell epitopes. Those considered methods marked to have better accuracy to design promising vaccine candidates.  Similarly, CTL epitopes was also predicted by using NetCTL server and the best candidates were further investigated their binding affinity by mean of PEP-FOLD3, PatchDock rigid-body docking server, and FireDock server. Total 27 continuous epitopes and 7 discontinuous B-cell epitopes were predicted. In the other hand, 9 peptides were predicted as CTL epitopes. Whereas, three predicted CTL epitope in range 263MLDHEYTTK27, 755AIDMADEDY763, 715ALGTSKLNY724) exhibited good interactions to HLA-A0201. Moreover, we also found residues His266, Thr270, Ala755, Tyr723, Thr718, Ser719, Lys720 from Topo48 and residues Thr163, Asp757, His70, Glu63 from HLA- A0201 were indicated to be antigenic. Ultimately, our proposed continuous/discontinuous B-cell epitopes, and also CTL epitopes can be potential vaccines for cancer immunotherapy

    Non-linear Geostatistics Approach for An Integrated Surface Mapping in Epithermal Gold Deposit, Lampung

    A conventional surface mapping is calculated by any means of linear interpolator such as nearest neighborhood point (NNP), inverse distance (IDW)/inverse distance square (IDS), polygon, contour weighing, Ordinary Kriging (OK). The latter is included in geostatistic methods and provides more advanced weighing method that differs from the rest. Although OK provides smoothing over mapping data but it does not cover categorial (non-value) data. Besides, it is not best in strongly skewed data that are common in exploration data and is limited to the expected value at some location. On the other hand, a non-linear interpolator is conducted to estimate the conditional expectation at a location, that not only to simply predict the grade or other parameter itself, but also the probability of the parameter at a location with known nearby samples. An integrated surface mapping should have many kinds of data that can be categorized into continous data (grade, thickness, elevation, etc.) and categorial data (lithology, alteration, structural data, etc.). In order to create a block that consist of all data available in a given deposit, a non-linier transformation will be conducted to estimate values at determined thresholds by Kriging methods – known as Indicator Kriging method and its variants
