    Adequacy level of energy and macronutrients for 3rd year students of the Food Technology Departement, Itera

    Macronutrients are composed of protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Current conditions indicate a malnutrition, which is undernourishment and overnourishment. This problem can also be experienced by college students. Student high activity and mobility are thought to affect the accomplishment of daily nutrition. Therefore, there was need to be measures of the quantity and type of nutrients consumed by the method of food recall. This method is used to determine the energy and macronutrient adequacy of students. This study aimed to obtain scientific data related to energy and macronutrients adequacy for students of Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA). The research subjects were 3rd year (age group 19-29 years) students of the Food Technology Departement, ITERA, which consisted of 22 students. In general, the average intake of energy and macronutrients of the subjects did not meet the nutrient adequacy level. Of the 22 research subjects, 15 of them experienced a severe energy deficit, 5 with moderate deficit nutritional, and 1 subject was in a mild deficit condition. The distribution of protein intake of research subjects also did not meet the nutrient adequacy level. Of the 22 research subjects, 6 of them experienced a severe deficit of protein, 1 subject had moderate protein nutritional status, and 4 subjects each had a mild deficit and excessive. The distribution of fat and carbohydrate research subjects has not met the nutrient adequacy level

    Kinetika Pengaruh Kalsium Klorida dan Kelembaban Relatif terhadap Kualitas Cabai Merah (Capsicum annum L.)

    Penanganan pasca panen cabai merah yang masih sangat minim dan kurangnya pengetahuan petani terhadap teknologi pasca panen akan memicu resiko kemunduran kualitas cabai merah yang lebih tinggi dan tingkat penerimaan oleh konsumen. Salah satu metode pasca panen yang dapat diterapkan yaitu dengan perlakuan kalsium klorida dan pengkondisian RH penyimpanan. Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan kalsium klorida dan kelembaban relatif terhadap perubahan kualitas dan umur simpan cabai merah. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan percobaan Completed Randomized Design (CRD) dengan variasi konsentrasi kalsium klorida (CaCl2) yaitu 0% , 1%, dan 4%, dan variasi kelembaban relatif (RH) yaitu 85% dan 65%. Analisis perubahan kualitas yang diukur adalah susut bobot, tekstur, dan total padatan terlarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi CaCl2 berpengaruh signifikan (<0.05) terhadap susut bobot, dan tekstur, sedangkan kondisi ruang penyimpanan (RH) berpengaruh signifikan (<0.05) terhadap susut bobot, tekstur, dan Total padatan terlarut. Interaksi antara konsentrasi CaCl2, RH, dan hari penyimpanan berpengaruh terhadap susut bobot. Konsentrasi 4% CaCl2 dan 85% RH merupakan perlakuan terbaik yang dapat diaplikasikan untuk cabai merah.&nbsp

    The wetland area in Tulang Bawang Regency is a stretch of swamps that has an important value ecologically and hydrologically and has economic value. However, currently, the area's condition has begun to change its function to agricultural land, resulting in damage to the habitat and function of swamps, causing a decrease in biological resources such as fish and bird populations. The use of wetlands must be carefully planned and designed with land use principles with a sustainable perspective. The aim of this research is; 1.) Identifying the potential for hydrology, potential land use, and the condition of biodiversity in the Wetland area; 2) Formulating alternative land suitability in the wetland area planning in Tulang Bawang Regency by taking into account biophysical factors and area functions. This research's approach method is spatial pattern analysis, which is to study the patterns, shapes, and distribution of phenomena on the earth's surface. In addition, understand the meaning of these patterns and use them in sustainable land use planning. Based on the results of land suitability analysis for wetland planning in Tulang Bawang Regency, it can be concluded that this area is classified as very suitable (S1) with a score of 93.33.     Baron Beach is a public space that becomes an icon of Gunungkidul Regency. The conditions of a waterfront that have a river and surrounded by hills also the presence of fishing activities attract visitors. Various kinds of activities that occur in this public open space at the same time with different interests, can cause conflicts between activities even though there are also activities that are in line with each other. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method that compares data to utilized public open space during the research period with existing theories.     COVID-19 pandemic have been spread around the world since the first outbreak on Desember 2019 in Wuhan, China. DKI Jakarta as one of the highest population density among 34 provinces in Indonesia, has become an endemic area of COVID-19 with the rate of new cases show some fluctuation for each month along 2020. This is a secondary data research which drawn from Health Ministry of Indonesia as well as Center of Statistics for DKI Jakarta. Focus and the scope of this paper is on analyzing the relation between new cases of COVID-19 with population density of Jakarta’s districts. Descriptive and inferential analysis that combined with Robust Regression Test are conducted due to some outliers data. This unbiased method shows a good regression model of spreading new positive cases. M-Estimator Robust Regression with Tukey Bisquare function,  shows the best result with the least Residual Standar Error (RSE), that is 0.411.  Analysis on statistical test for the chosen model shows that population density has significant impacts on outbreak pattern of COVID-19 in Jakarta. But mobilities and interactions betweeen citizens has also give a great impact

    Nyamuk merupakan serangga yang mengalami metamorfosis sempurna, dimuali dari  telur, pupa, larva (fase akuatik) hingga nyamuk dewasa (fase nonakuatik). Proses perkembangbiakan nyamuk, khususnya pada fase akuatik (air sebagai habitatnya) sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi cuaca. Model matematik dibangun untuk mengetaui dinamika populasi nyamuk dengan melibatkan faktor cuaca. Penggunaan temephos dan fumigasi juga dilibatkan dalam konstuksi model sebagai kontrol terhadap pertumbuhan nyamuk. Analisis kestabilan pada titik kesetimbangan disajikan untuk mengetahui kondisi populasi nyamuk seiring berjalannya waktu. Dari hasil simulasi diperoleh bahwa pengaruh musim mengakibatkan dinamika populasi larva dan nyamuk berosilasi setiap tahunnya dengan puncak pertumbuhan terjadi pada musim hujan. Disamping itu, penggunaan  temephos da fumigasi secara signifikan dapat mengurangi jumlah  populasi dari larva dan nyamuk

    Heat transfer through building envelope materials and their effect on indoor air temperatures in tropics

    High thermal mass modern building materials are unsuitable to be used in the tropics due to their thermos-physical properties and the ability in absorbing solar radiation, storing and transferring heat into the building, affecting the high indoor air temperature, hence, reducing thermal comfort. However, due to the high demand for building, utilization of this material is avoidable. This study investigated the heat transfer through building envelope materials and their effect on the indoor air temperature of the building through field measurement using a thermal camera and a handle wind meter. The results found that the ceiling is the part of the building which gained the highest indoor surface temperature which reaches 38.6 °C at the apex point at 2pm but decreased significantly to 30.4 °C at 6 pm. Meanwhile, the inner of the northeast wall gained 33.1 °C at the peak temperature and stayed above 30 °C until 10 pm. The indoor air temperature of this unit housing was 36.3 °C at 2 pm with the temperature difference between outdoor and indoor was 2.5 °C. At night, the indoor air temperature was 3.8 °C higher than the outside temperature

    The loss of biodiversity in Indonesia is triggered by a decline in forest area. Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) conducts the development of the ITERA Botanical Gardens having an important role as the ex-situ conservation of flora. Reforestation activities are carried out to support the vegetation development in the botanical garden. This activity have to concern in fertilizer needs and soil ameliorant, especially in soil characteristic of ITERA botanical garden. The aim of this research is to analyze combinations of manure and bamboo biochar having the abitily to increase optimal growth of Anthocephalus cadamba (Roxb.) Miq. in ITERA Botanical Garden. The experimental design used in this research was Completely Randomized Design. The addition of manure and bamboo biochar increased height, diameter, and number of leaves of A. cadamba. The addition of 3 kg manure and 100 g bamboo biochar (B3) was the best treatment to increased height, diameter, and number of leaves of A. cadamba during 12 weeks of observation

In Bandarlampung as a Metropolitan City, it can be seen that the population is increasingly dense and its activities are increasingly diverse as seen on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, which is surrounded by heterogeneous land uses like residential areas, trade and service areas and public service areas where Jalan Urip Sumoharjo is a strategic road for in Bandarlampung. So the purpose of this research are to identify the model of trip generation and trip attraction that determine the factors causing the movement of residential area of Jalan Urip Sumoharjo. The research method used are multiple linear regression and descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the analysis result, the factors that influence movement on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo are family members, number of working family members, average distance and time of movement, monthly income, vehicle ownership, purpose and travel destination, and accessibility

    Warga Dusun Batu Saeng merupakan contoh yang memproduksi listrik dari mikrohidro. Namun berdasarkan hasil survei tim, seluruh komponen terutama generator mikrohidro sudah tidak layak pakai, yang menyebabkan produksi listrik semakin menurun. Oleh karena itu, Tim Pengabdi menawarkan kepada warga untuk menerapkan generator mikrohidro di Dusun Batu Saeng, dengan spesifikasi daya yang lebih besar, material yang lebih bagus, dan desain yang lebih modern. Adapun pelaksanaan yang telah dilakukan adalah, survei lokasi, forum diskusi warga, persiapan peralatan dan bahan, penerapan dan perakitan generator mikrohidro, analisis survei data kepuasan, pelaporan dan luaran. Hasil akhir dari program ini adalah, generator-mikrohidro 10.000 kilowatt yang berhasil membantu menerangi dua puluh rumah warga di Dusun Batu Saeng. Harapan dari program ini semoga bisa dijadikan inspirasi dan referensi untuk penerapan teknologi energi terbarukan di masyarakat yang berpotensi
