Changes in consumer lifestyles in Indonesia have led to an increase in coffee consumption in Indonesia. This has triggered an increasing number of coffee drink producers with various innovations, such as one of the coffee menus that consumers generally prefer, namely iced coffee, milk, palm sugar. Based on the study of the use of sweeteners, 61.36% were dominated by beverage products and sweeteners that were often used, namely cyclamate and saccharine. This study aims to determine the use of cyclamate and saccharin in iced coffee drinks with palm sugar milk in 5 coffee shops in Bandar Lampung which were analyzed by one sample t-test with α = 5%. The results obtained showed that all samples only contained cyclamate with a content exceeding the maximum limit of cyclamate use (350 mg/kg) without the use of saccharine. Keywords: Coffee, Cyclamate, Saccharin

This paper aims to reveal the dimension underlying variables that affect the trip makers; mode choice to reach Car-Free Day location, taking Bandung as a case study. Twelve variables are gathered from several works of literature, namely trip cost, parking cost, trip duration, trip distance, number of people on the trip, the highest number of lanes in the trip, the age of the trip maker(s), number of vehicle ownership, whether those are motorized or non-motorized, and the number of household member. Correlations between variables are more than possible to find in that amount. Therefore, a principal component analysis is used to group the variables into factors, representing the structure or dimension laid down beneath them. This method shows that four groups of variables, or factors, are generated. The result then is compared to some literature that priorly have been reviewed. The first dimension is called “trip characteristics” which elements are trip duration, the highest number of lanes in the trip, and trip distance. The second dimension, namely “out-of-pocket cost”, is built upon in-vehicle trip cost and parking cost. The third dimension is a group of three vehicle ownership, i.e car, motorcycle, and bicycle ownership, hence the name “vehicle ownership” dimension. The fourth dimension is labeled “trip-maker characteristics”, with its variables being the number people involved in the trip and the age of the trip-maker

Climate change is a topic of discussion in various parts of the world. Several coastal cities in Indonesia are currently also threatened by the impacts of climate change. From several studies, it is known that the threat of climate change is considered capable of increasing community resilience in informal areas. This study aims to identify the application of the principle of verification of positivism and its implications as an analysis of the philosophy of science in the study of climate change impacts on the resilience of informal areas. The analytical technique used is descriptive evaluative by using several literature reviews and theories. From the results of the study, it was found that research related to climate change and resilience of informal areas is an empirical, logical, and measurable research as well as part of a deductive research and reflects that the theme of this research is a part of science

Semi-Empirical Estimation of Velocity Profile for Shallow Gravel Bed Channel

    Get PDF
The dependence of flow velocity distribution near the bed on the roughness geometry has led to various approaches for estimating the velocity. Themodels proposed bypreviousstudies aremostlybased on segmented velocityprofiles(e.g., a linear distribution within theinterfacial sublayer and logarithmic distributions above the interfacial sublayer). By increasing number of segments, the possibility of errors in the parameters, as well as constants, are likely to rise. This study assessed the applicability of a hyperbolic tangent function velocity model to estimate double-averaged velocity profile for shallow flow over a rough gravel bed as a single model concept, especially for the area within roughness layer. Velocity profiles over gravel beds with different arrangements and roughness densities from previously published studies using laboratory measurements were used to validate this model. The behaviours of related constants for this model in response to changes in the flow depth and roughness geometry were investigated, and limitations on it application were evaluated. It was found that the constants required to apply hyperbolic tangent function are affected by roughness geometry function and relative submergence. Through this study also observed that HTF is reliable to describe the velocity profile for about twice of geometric roughness height

    Get PDF
This study aims to examine the architectural performance of the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) model in predicting Covid-19 cases in Lampung Province. The RNN method is part of Deep Learning which will be used to model data on Covid-19 cases in Lampung Province from March 26, 2020 to March 28, 2021. The RNN model was chosen because the Covid-19 data is in the form of a time series and the advantages of RNN are that it can capture information on the data time series using multiple network layers which allow better modeling and resulting in high prediction accuracy. The data is divided into 3, namely active cases, recovered cases, and dead cases. After preparing the data, the 368 data were divided into 294 initial latih data and 74 test data. After latih on the data for each data, then a test is carried out on the data for each data as a reference for predicting the latest data. The most optimal results show the cumulative active case model with RMSE=0.0022; for cumulative recovery cases obtained RMSE = 0.0007; while the cumulative death cases obtained RMSE = 0.0012. Based on the modeling error, then make predictions on the three cases which results in RMSE = 0.001 for cumulative active cases; RMSE=0.0027 for cumulative recovery cases; and RMSE=0.001 for cumulative death cases

In early 2020 the COVID-19 outbreak had entered the territory of Indonesia so a lockdown system began to be implemented in several areas to overcome the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak, including on the tourist arrivals route through land gates, air gates, and sea gates. This makes the writer interested in seeing the number of foreign tourists entering Indonesia through land, sea, and air gates in the hope of helping the government in increasing the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia by optimizing the facilities and infrastructure on the tourist arrivals route. In this study, the authors looked at the effect on the entrance data of foreign tourists and the trends or changes that existed in the data held. The research was conducted by applying the Kruskal-Wallis test to see the relationship between the entry pathways and the Cox-Stuart test to see changes in the data. These two tests are used because they are following the objectives and existing research data. After the tests were carried out, the results showed that there was a difference between the entry routes, and it was seen that the data had decreased, one of the contributing factors was the PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) due to the Covid-19 pandemic

The phenomenon of ENSO (El-Nino Southern Oscillation) caused by climate change is closely related to the causes of drought in Indonesia as seen from historical data (BAKORNAS PB, 2007). The agricultural sector, especially food crops, is highly dependent on climatic conditions because food crops are generally seasonal crops related to excess or lack of water. Palas sub-district is the sub-district with the largest land cover of rice fields in South Lampung Regency. The type of rice field in Palas District is a rainfed rice field that is not supported by an irrigation network which will cause the area to be more susceptible to drought. This study aims to assess the level of vulnerability to drought in food agriculture areas in Palas District. This research uses a study approach, namely weighting, scoring, and reclassing the four dimensions that make up the drought vulnerability index, namely social, economic, physical, and environmental. Based on the results of the analysis of the index of vulnerability to drought, high grades are found in the villages of Bumi Daya, Bali Agung, and Mekar Mulya. The high class is driven by high social vulnerability factors such as population, age group ratios, poverty ratios, and the ratio of the last education of the population. High economic vulnerability factors such as agricultural area and livelihood ratios. High physical vulnerability factors such as water sources and irrigation infrastructure so that the area is in an area prone to drought
