    One area that has the potential for local economic development is Batu Kebayan Village, West Lampung Regency. Batu Kebayan Village has various potentials, especially in the field of coffee productivity, but this is still not optimal because it still has various limitations including the need for capital support in processing land and infrastructure; policies that are still inconsistent; and the lack of public interest in buying processed coffee products and lack of promotion. The approach used in this research is a deductive research approach with the analytical technique used in the form of a combination of qualitative descriptive analysis and factor analysis. The data collection method in this study used primary data collection techniques (open interviews and observations). The results obtained from this study are based on the results of the analysis on targets regarding the characteristics of local economic development, found various potentials that support local economic development based on robusta coffee productivity. However, to support this, it is necessary to increase the processing of production products that are not yet optimal, as well as improve road infrastructure to the plantation location

    Pekon Gading Rejo Timur memiliki angka kejadian DBD yang cukup tinggi. Spray repellent nyamuk berbahan dasar serai wangi (Cymbopogon nardus) merupakan salah satu cara pencegahan DBD. Serai lebih dikenal sebagai bumbu dapur, sedangkan serai wangi masih minim dimanfaatkan. Pengetahuan masyrakat juga masih minim terkait dengan serai wangi sebagai repellent nyamuk. Oleh sebab itu, dibutuhkan penyuluhan dan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan wawasan masyarakat terkait DBD dan pencegahannya dengan memanfaatkan serai wangi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kegiatan diketahui bahwa rerata nilai sebelum dan setelah kegiatan memiliki perbedaan signifikan (p < 0,05). Kegiatan penyuluhan DBD dan pelatihan pembuatan spray repellent serai wangi telah memberikan manfaat dengan peningkatan wawasan para peserta kegiatan

    Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas kegiatan sosialisasi dan diskusi mitigasi bencana yang dilaksanakan di Dusun Kuala Jaya, Desa Bandar Agung, Lampung Selatan. Desa tersebut secara geografis terletak di daerah yang rentan terhadap berbagai jenis bencana alam salah satunya banjir ROB. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat pemahaman masyarakat setempat terkait mitigasi bencana, serta untuk menilai sejauh mana kegiatan sosialisasi dan diskusi telah berhasil meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan dan partisipasi aktif warga dalam menghadapi potensi bencana. Metode penelitian melibatkan survei partisipatif berupa pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat di Dusun Kuala Jaya memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas tentang konsep mitigasi bencana dan langkah-langkah yang dapat diambil dalam menghadapi ancaman bencana. Berdasarkan hasil tes yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa warga desa Kuala Jaya sudah cukup paham tentang mitigasi banjir rob. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman praktis dan perencanaan kebijakan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan masyarakat terhadap bencana di daerah yang rentan

    The development of a city occurs along with the development and changes in land that are triggered by the dynamics of the population. Population dynamics can occur as a result of births, deaths and population movements that affect changes in the number, composition and growth of the population. This study aims to identify the impact of population dynamics on spatial patterns. To achieve these objectives, this research uses mixed methods, namely quantitative methods combined with qualitative methods. To determine the impact of population dynamics on spatial patterns, this study uses simple linear regression analysis. Research on this analysis uses the variable Population Dynamics as an independent variable that gives effect. Also using the variables of changes in spatial patterns, that receive the impact of influential variables. The results of the regression analysis of the impact of population dynamics on spatial patterns show that population dynamics only have an effect of 26.7% on spatial pattern changes. This analysis proves that population dynamics do not have a significant impact on spatial patterns. The initial hypothesis of this study, namely population dynamics has an impact on spatial patterns and spatial structure, has been proven through regression analysis that this hypothesis can be accepted because population dynamics has an impact on spatial pattern, although it is not significant

    Desa Tanjung Anom merupakan desa yang mayoritas penduduknya merupakan anggota kelompok tani dengan jumlah penduduk sebesar 2.443 jiwa. Pekon Tanjung Anom dilewati dengan Sungai Way Tebu termasuk kedalam bagian Daerah Irigasi Way Ngison dan Mendapatkan ketersediaan air dari Bendung Way Ngison. Walaupun telah dilakukan rehabilitasi terhadap Bendung Way Ngison tahun 2019 namun tetap terjadi penumpukan sedimentasi.sehingga berpengaruh terhadap kebutuhan air pada jaringan irigasi. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu dengan melakukan sosialisasi mengenai pemahaman tentang jaringan irigasi dan operasional pemeliharaan irigasi dan dilakukan Pre Test dan Post Test sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi dilaksanakan. Dengan diadakannya kegiatan tersebut persentase kenaikan tentang pemahaman irigasi dan operasional pemeliharaan irigasi sebesar 77,42% pada kelompok tani (Gapoktan) Desa Tanjung Anom

    Banjir merupakan bencana alam yang memberikan dampak negatif pada kehidupan masyarakat. Desa sidorejo merupakan salah satu desa terdampak kejadian banjir pada Oktober 2022. Pengamatan dilapangan menunjukan bahwa saluran drainase di desa tersebut sebagian belum terbangun dan tidak berfungsi optimal. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan langkah pencegahan banjir oleh masyarakat setempat sehingga dapat meminimalisir kejadian banjir. Untuk memberikan pemahaman tersebut maka tim Pkm Institut Teknologi Sumatera berinisiatif untuk melakukan kegiatan edukasi masyarakat melalui sosialisasi perencanaan, operasional dan pemeliharaan saluran drainase. Edukasi kepada masyarakat dilakukan melalui survei kondisi saluran drainase terbangun dan sosialisasi tahapan perencanaan, operasional dan pemeliharaan. Berdasarkan hasil pretest dan post test dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan masyarakat meningkat dari 66,92% menjadi 76,92%

    FORMULATION OF ALOE VERA (Aloe vera L.) EXTRACT GEL AS A SKIN MOISTURIZER WITH VARIATIONS OF CARBOPOL 934

    Aloe vera is a type of plant that can moisturize the skin to prevent premature aging. One type of cosmetic preparation that can be used for skin health is gel. This research aims to determine the optimal variation of Carbopol 934 for formulating the gel. The method used in this research is maceration, creating aloe vera extract gel preparations in three formulas with variations of Carbopol 934: F1 (1 g), F2 (1.5 g), and F3 (2 g). Subsequently, a physical evaluation was conducted, which included: Organoleptic test: The results showed a nearly yellowish-white color, a characteristic aloe vera plant aroma, and a semi-solid form. pH measurement: The pH values for F1, F2, and F3 were 6.1, 4.8, and 4.3, respectively.Homogeneity test: All formulas were homogeneous. Viscosity test: The viscosity results for F1, F2, and F3 were 285,290, 515,821, and 749,374 mPa.s, respectively, compared to the reference sample at 375,163 mPa.s. Spreadability test: The spreadability for F1, F2, and F3 were 6.5 cm, 5.5 cm, and 5 cm, respectively. Adhesion test: The adhesion times for F1, F2, and F3 were 7.02, 10.40, and 24.23 seconds, respectively. Based on the physical evaluation results, the gel preparations meet the requirements for a good gel preparation according to the specified SNI No.06-2588 standards

    Optimization of Formula and In Vitro Activity Testing of O/W Lotion Cosmetic Formulations Containing Ethanol Extract of Cat's Whiskers Leaves (Orthosiphon aristatus) as Sunscreen

    Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight can induce erythema, sunburn, and skin sensitivity, culminating in dermal damage. The application of sunscreen mitigates potential skin harm resulting from solar radiation. This investigation aims to ascertain the optimal formulation for lotion preparations incorporating Orthosiphon aristatus leaf extract and evaluate the sunscreen efficacy of said formulations through in vitro testing. Extraction procedures involved ethanol maceration, followed by phytochemical characterization of the resultant extract. Formulation of the extract into oil-in-water (O/W) lotion preparations was executed, with optimization conducted utilizing the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method, incorporating varied concentrations of stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, and olive oil to assess their impact on lotion viscosity, spreadability, and adhesion. Subsequent evaluation encompassed in vitro assessment of sunscreen activity for both the lotion and extract. Findings revealed the presence of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins in the extract. Optimal lotion formulation, determined via the SLD method, yielded concentrations of 2.00, 4.22, and 8.78 for stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, and olive oil, respectively. Formulation optimization was guided by minimizing viscosity while maximizing spreadability and adhesion. Confirmation studies underscored the predictive capacity of the SLD method in determining viscosity, spreadability, and adhesion of the cat's whiskers leaf extract lotion. SPF values for the extract and lotion were recorded as 33.63 ± 0.963 and 2.54 ± 0.001, respectively, at a concentration of 30,000 ppm

    Silica oxide (SiO2) is a chemical compound that can be obtained from the extraction of volcanic ash from Mount Sinabung. Silicon dioxide has the properties of high porosity, high mechanical strength, high thermal stability, large pore surface area, stable surface in acidic media so that it can be applied in the chemical coating field.This research aims to measurement of performance natural silica from volcanic ash of mount Sinabung Indonesia as additives to the paint to inhibit corrosion rate in metal surface. The addition of silica additives to the paint was carried out by dispersing (0; 0.5; 0.75; and 1) g with 10 mL of paint with each composition carried out for 60 minutes. Iron plate in sandpaper with 1500 grid and polished with bludru cloth using autosol metal polish, then coated with paint and a combination of silica-paint through the dipcoating method. The corrosion test was carried out on a corrosive solution of HCl 15% (v/v) and NaCl 3.5% (w/v). The corrosion rate using HCl 15% (v/v) showed C (0,286) mpy, SC1 (0,123) mpy, SC2 (0,149) mpy, SC3 (0,120) mpy. While at 3.5% (w/v) NaCl, namely C (0,282) mpy, SC1 (0,120) mpy, SC2 (0,142) mpy, SC3 (0,098) mpy. Inhibitor efficiency for various variations of silica composition in corrosive HCl 15%(v/v) solution, e.g., SC1 (56,9%), SC2 (47,9%), and SC3 (58,04%). The inhibitor efficiency at various compositions of silica in NaCl 3.5% (w/v) are SC1 (57,44%), SC2 (49%) dan SC3 (65,24%)

    Kampung Agrowidya merupakan salah satu desa wisata agro berbasis pertanian dan perikanan yang berlokasi di Rajabasa Raya, namun memiliki kondisi penerangan yang minim pada jalan utama. Berdasarkan kondisi penerangan pada kampung Agrowidya, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keamanan lingkungan dan menunjang aktivitas masyarakat kampung Agrowidya dengan memanfaatkan tenaga surya. Proses perencanaan pemasangan penerangan jalan umum (PJU) dilakukan dengan pengukuran iluminansi dan dimensi jalan utama serta melakukan pemodelan menggunakan 3 untuk menemukan model penerangan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Hasil opsi pemodelan yang paling efisien berdasarkan SNI 7391:2008 menggunakan software DIAlux diperoleh bahwa jenis lampu LED BRP130 dengan tinggi tiang 5 meter dan sudut kemiringan 15o serta panel surya sebagai sistem suplai listriknya yang berkapasitas 210 Wp dan media penyimpanan energi berupa baterai 140Ah. Diharapkan pemanfaatan dan perancangan panel surya pada penerangan jalan umum ini dapat membantu Kampung Agrowidya dan meningkatkan pemahaman pemahaman masyarakat mitra terhadap pemanfaatan energi surya sebagai salah satu energi baru terbarukan
