Hadith Study on Human “Fitrah” in The Hadith Literacy and Its Implication in The Islamic Education System: Kajian Hadis tentang “Fitrah” Manusia dalam Literasi Hadis dan Implikasinya dalam Sistem Pendidikan Islam

    No full text
The inability of the modern education system to respond to various social problems raises new issues regarding the effectiveness of the education system. The rise of educational system approaches that refer to Western traditions, such as the concept of “tabula rasa” initiated by John Locke, actually exacerbates the existing problems, because there is a dichotomy between knowledge science and religion. Thus, education is no longer able to direct each student to the moral values that have been taught by the predecessors. Departing from the dynamics that occur, this research aims to examine the hadith about fitrah as a new formulation in the Islamic education system. Two questions become the initial basis of the study: first, how is human nature in the literacy of the Prophet\u27s hadith; second, what are the implications of the concept of fitrah in the formulation of Islamic education? Through literature-based qualitative methods, the results show that the hadith about fitrah is massively spread with ittishal. The concept of fitrah in the hadith indicates that every human being is born with a natural tendency towards monotheism and stands on good values. In the framework of Islamic education, this concept becomes the epistemological basis that the educational process is a process of maintaining and actualizing fitrah, so that education is not just a transfer of knowledge, but rather forming an integral personality that is in line with divine values. Thus, the implementation of Islamic education needs to emphasize approaches that recognize the sacred potential in children and design curriculum and learning methods that support the development of fitrah holistically

Menumbuhkan Self Acceptance Melalui Konsep Mahabbah

FAITH-BASED APPROACHES OF WASTE MANAGEMENT:: A Case Study of Religious Enviromentalism in Indonesia

    No full text
This paper explores the transformative role of religion in promoting sustainable waste management through case studies of faith-based communities in Indonesia. Despite being one of the most religious countries in the world, Indonesia still struggles with low levels of ecological awareness—particularly in household waste management. This paradox highlights the untapped potential of religion in cultivating environmental consciousness and driving behavioral change at the grassroots level. Utilizing a qualitative approach through a comprehensive literature review and case study analysis, the study investigates how religious values can be meaningfully integrated into environmental action. Three representative cases are examined: the Eco-Mosque initiative and At Thoriq Ecological Islamic Boarding School (Islam), the Waste Bank program by the Batak Karo Protestant Church (Christianity), and traditional waste practices in Penglipuran Village (Balinese Hinduism). The analysis reveals that teachings such as khalifah, stewardship, simplicity spirituality (ugahari), ahimsa (non-violence), and indigenous wisdom hold significant potential for fostering eco-friendly behaviors. However, the dominance of anthropocentric theological paradigms and limited structural policy support remain major challenges. The study argues that integrating spiritual values with waste management strategies requires cross-sector collaboration, including the reinterpretation of religious teachings, faith-based environmental education, and policy incentives for religious institutions. Ultimately, this paper affirms that religion is not only a source of personal spirituality but also a powerful force for collective ecological action—one that can inspire a greener, more sustainable future. Social Construction of the Power Relations of Sole Parenting of Nyai in the Solo Raya Pesantren

    No full text
The position of women remains a sensitive topic, both within and beyond the Pesantren. This research aims to examine the social construction of the power relations of the Nyai whose Kiai has left behind. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with snowball sampling. Data collection techniques use interviews, documentation, and observation. The subjects in this study were 4 Nyai from Singoludiro Islamic Boarding School, Al Mubarrok Islamic Boarding School in Boyolali, Qoshul Qur\u27an Islamic Boarding School in Klaten, and Nyai Al Muayyad Islamic Boarding School in Solo. Social construction consists of three stages. First, externalization occurred during the adjustment period following Kiai\u27s marriage. Second, the objectification stage is carried out by considering the needs of the Pesantren. Nyai then continued Kiai\u27s public role as a wife. It is a sign that a devoted wife must continue Kiai\u27s struggle. The third stage of internalization occurs when Nyai is fully aware of Nyai\u27s position as the sole caregiver in the Pesantren. The parenting pattern used by Nyai is still the same as the Pesantren criteria in providing complete care for Kiai and Nyai. What differs is that the actor caring for him is now a single actor. The connection between power relations and knowledge production is shown in various forms. It can be seen from Nyai that inherent capital, such as capital, cultural capital, and intellectual capital, can produce knowledge according to their basic abilities. This ability was developed through the production process that Nyai and Kiai underwent while living together and through the initial skills they had when managing their care in the past. The notable finding is that Nyai\u27s parenting patterns tend to mirror those adopted from Kiai

Multiple Religious Belonging sebagai Dinamika Relasi Misi Kristen dan Penganut Aluk To Dolo

    No full text
This study focuses on the phenomenon of Multiple Religious Belonging (MRB) in the community of Aluk To Dolo adherents in Suppirang and Mesakada villages, bordering Tana Toraja. MRB is understood as a religious practice where individuals integrate elements from more than one religious tradition, in this context, Aluk To Dolo and Christianity. This phenomenon challenges the traditional paradigm of exclusive religion and creates a unique socio-religious dynamic. The purpose of this research is to explore the religious experiences of Aluk To Dolo adherents who participate in Christian practices without abandoning their ancestral traditions. A qualitative descriptive phenomenological approach was employed to understand the behaviors and life patterns of this community. The study also reviews relevant literature to strengthen the analysis of Christian missions and cultural interaction with Aluk To Dolo. The findings reveal that MRB fosters harmonious relationships between Christianity and Aluk To Dolo through the adaptation of traditions and shared practices. However, challenges such as the risk of syncretism and religious identity conflicts remain. In conclusion, MRB serves as a platform for interreligious dialogue, enriching the religious experiences of individuals and communities while reflecting the dynamics of Christian mission transformation in a local cultural context

The Dynamics of Adolescent Relationships and the Disintegration of Moral Regulation: A Study on Teenage Pregnancy in Paremono, Magelang

    No full text
Unplanned pregnancies among teenagers are often perceived merely as a lapse in individual self-discipline. Nevertheless, in Paremono Village, located in Magelang Regency, a community that upholds strong Islamic values, this issue reveals a sociological contradiction. This research seeks to understand why the moral regulations associated with religion fail in deterring risky sexual activities among young people. Employing a qualitative case study method, data were gathered through comprehensive interviews with 20 participants: 10 adolescent girls who are pregnant, 5 parents, and 5 religious leaders. The study\u27s results indicate a breakdown in informal social control structures. Cultural and religious stigmas surrounding sexuality create obstacles to communication within families, resulting in a “reproduction of ignorance.” Consequently, adolescents experience cognitive dissonance: they have theological awareness about what constitutes “sin,” yet lack meaningful moral support to withstand external pressures. Viewed through the framework of Social Learning Theory, the absence of parental and religious guidance is compensated for by peer groups that normalize a liberal dating environment and digital pornography. This research concludes that an abundance of religious symbols does not guarantee moral internalization without engaging in and facilitating open educational discussions. This study suggests enhancing the involvement of religious leaders to reduce the stigma surrounding reproductive health education and to transition the teaching approach from a rigid to a more conversational style

Hudūd dalam Al-Qur’an: Pembacaan Ulang Hermeneutik atas Hukuman Seratus Cambukan dalam QS. An-Nūr [24]: 2-3

    No full text
The Qur’ānic prescription of one-hundred lashes for fornication in QS An-Nūr 24:2–3 has long provoked tension between classical Islamic jurisprudence and contemporary human-rights norms. Existing commentary, dominated by fiqh-centric, atomistic readings, often neglects the socio-historical matrix that shaped the verse and, consequently, its moral telos. This study reinterprets the passage through Fazlur Rahman’s double-movement hermeneutic within a qualitative research design. Primary data comprise pre-Islamic records of flogging, early, medieval, and modern tafsīr, and statutory applications of ḥ udūd; secondary data derive from recent scholarship on Islamic criminal law and international human-rights law. The first hermeneutic movement reconstructs the historical landscape of corporal punishment from Ancient Rome to early Madīnah, revealing the lash as a socially intelligible deterrent rather than a sacralised ritual. The second movement distils a universal moral ideal—social protection through deterrence—and tests its compatibility with modern human-rights principles. Findings show that the ethical objective of An-Nūr 24:2–3 can be upheld today through non-violent, educational, and restorative measures that respect bodily integrity while preserving the Qur’ān’s preventive intent. The study thus offers a viable framework for reconciling Islamic normative authority with contemporary humanitarian standard

Analisis Sinonimitas Makna Nūr, Ḍiyā’, dan Sirāj dalam Al-Qur\u27an: Kajian Linguistik Semantik Berdasarkan Tafsir Al-Kasysyāf

    No full text
This article is motivated by the use of the words nūr, ḍiyā\u27, and sirāj which are often translated as "light". Although all three have similar basic meanings, each word is used in a different context, raising the question of whether these words are synonymous or have significant differences in meaning. The purpose of this research is to try to uncover the meaning and synonyms of each word by analyzing it through the Tafsir Al-Kasysyāf approach by al-Zamakhsyarī. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. The analysis was carried out using a semantic approach, which focuses on the relationship of meaning between words and the context in which they are used in the verses of the Qur\u27an. The results of the analysis show that the three terms have a basic meaning as "light", but there are differences in their use. The word nūr refers more to light that is soft and reflective, such as the light of the moon or the light of Allah\u27s guidance that is spiritual. While the word ḍiyā\u27 describes a more intense light and has a hot element, such as sunlight that shines strongly and burns. Meanwhile, the word sirāj refers to a source of light that emits its own rays, such as the sun itself which is referred to as sirāj in the Qur\u27an.

Intertekstualitas Konsep Kesetaraan dan Martabat Manusia Perspektif Al-Qur’an Dan Bible

    No full text

Normalization of Religious Hegemony as Destructive Narrative and Bio-Politics in Minahasa

This research analyzes the normalization of religious hegemony as a bio-political text in controlling the socio-religious movements of the Minahasa community through political truth. Using a qualitative approach with an analytical-descriptive method, this study analyzes the process of religious hegemony normalization. Data collection is conducted through literature studies. Christianity, as a world religion, has become a bio-political text for religious elites to control and legitimize actions of right and wrong within society through dogma. Normalizing theological narratives as an instrument of the elite has become a sublimated ideology. The religious hegemony of ‘Christianity’ has shaped a singular episteme (knowledge) and rejected local wisdom texts in the name of Minahasa’s traditions. First, the study discusses how Christianity, specifically the Evangelical Christian Church in Minahasa (GMIM), has formed bio-politics. Second, the sublimation of colonialist ideology continues to be perpetuated by the church. Third, the normalization of religious hegemony results in the marginalization of local knowledge. The conclusion explains that Christianity has been sublimated to form a singular narrative, becoming a tool for elites to legitimize the socio-religious movements of the Minahasa community
