Examining the Development of Hadith Interpretation: Insights from Abu Rayyah, Juynboll, & Zakaria Ouzon
This article aims to advance the field of hadith interpretation by examining the ideas of three influential figures: Abu Rayyah, Juynboll, and Zakaria Ouzon. Their distinctive approaches, characterized by both logic and critical analysis of traditional methods, resonate with contemporary trends in hadith hermeneutics studies. This makes them ideal subjects for exploring new avenues in hadith interpretation. By analyzing relevant literature, this research will explore the connections between these figures’ ideas and their impact on hadith scholarship. This analysis will then serve as the foundation for building a new framework for interpreting hadiths effectively. Their unique approach to evaluating both the chain of narrators (sanad) and the content of the hadith (matn) opens up fresh possibilities for a more dynamic and meaningful interpretation process (ijtihād). This means judging a hadith interpretation not only by who told it, but also by how well it aligns with the core values of the Qur’an and established scientific knowledge. Drawing inspiration from the work of Gadamer and Gracia, this research emphasizes the importance of skilled interpreters for understanding hadiths fully. By considering the broader context and implications of each hadith, this approach ensures interpretations remain relevant to the ever-changing world

The methods used include descriptive, analytical, and interpretive methods to connect neo marxism theory with contemporary problems. From the results of the study, it was found that concerns about other people\u27s judgments and good relations with their peers made teenagers lose their original self-identity. The emergence of anxiety that leads to an attitude of insecurity begins to appear when a teenager does not know himself as a whole. Generally, feelings of anxiety in adolescents are related to uploads on social media. Through his analysis, Herbert Marcuse, a neo marxism figure, sees the characteristics of a one-dimensional society that can be related to the FoMO phenomenon among teenagers, namely about false needs and images. Adolescents with FoMO tendencies have difficulty in interpreting themselves in substance. They mostly get stuck at the level of form and follow other people. The orientation of free human beings has deviated far from the order of life. So there needs to be a revolution of thought so that teenagers can better understand how to behave, not just follow trends .

Daura Al-Lugatu Al-‘Arabiyyah Fī Tafsīri Al-Qur’āni Li Muḥammadin Abū Zahrah: Dirāsatun Fī Zahrati At-Tafāsīri
The significance of Arabic in the interpretation of the Qur\u27an is noteworthy from both classical and contemporary perspectives. Among contemporary interpreters, Abu Zahrah stands out for his exceptional focus on Arabic in his interpretation. Although Abu Zahrah\u27s approach to language is similar to that of other commentators like al-Zamakhsyari, the results of his interpretation show significant differences. This research aims to examine the role of Arabic in Abu Zahrah\u27s interpretation and how he addresses various linguistic challenges through qualitative descriptive research and content analysis. The findings revealed that Arabic played a highly significant role in Zahrah al-Tafāsīr\u27s interpretation, becoming one of the main pillars. The study explored linguistic themes such as Isytiqāq, Nahw, Ṣarf, al-Ḍamāir, \u27Irāb, and Balāgah. Abu Zahrah\u27s method in dealing with linguistic problems includes referencing the Qur\u27an and sunnah, employing a balanced linguistic approach, making definitive choices, finding middle grounds between diverse opinions, and critiquing views deemed incorrect. Despite evident influence from al-Zamakhsyari, Abu Zahrah remains critical of his ideas. The evidence of Abu Zahrah\u27s proficiency in Arabic is undeniable
Pemikiran Tasawuf Beudizzaman Said Nursi: Problematika dan Gagasannya: Badiuzzaman Said Nursi\u27s Sufism Thought: Problems and Ideas
Despite its various shortcomings, Sufism is still needed for religious life today in an increasingly secular world. Considering the various attacks launched against Sufism by Islamic puritan and modernist movements, Said Nursi\u27s thoughts can be considered as a middle way to clear up the clouded pre-judgments of Sufism. This study aims to look at the main ideas of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi related to Sufism and the problematic background behind it, as well as to review the challenges faced by Sufism itself. To describe Said Nursi\u27s thoughts on Sufism in this paper, the author will describe objectively Said Nursi\u27s writings that speak explicitly about Sufism, then the author also includes interpretive and analytical elements to reach a broader meaning from those texts. The results of the study found that, for Said Nursi, Sufism is very important for the manifestation of the truth of Islam itself, although it cannot be denied that there are also practices in certain Sufism traditions that are not in accordance with the Sunnah. Therefore, by still referring to the legacy of the Sufism tradition, he offered a new Sufistic path (tariqah) which he named haqiqah, which he considered safer and less risky. Yet, the problem is modernism itself has eroded the esoteric dimension of Sufism itself, while puritanism has textually rejected it. Thus, Said Nursi\u27s thought of Sufism which places a strong emphasis on Shari\u27a should be brought up.

The Contestation of Contemporary Islam: Conservative Islam versus Progressive Islam
This article analyzes the articulation of Islamic thought in the 2014 and 2019 General Elections in Indonesia, both of which were marked by efforts by progressive and conservative Muslims to dominate public spaces. Contestation was evident in these political discourses, with progressive Muslims advocating for moderatism, political ethics, and tolerance in narratives of inclusivism, pluralism, and tolerance while conservative Muslims disseminating extremism, the formalization of sharia law, and intolerance in narratives of exclusivism and homogenization. The analysis questions the continuity-discontinuity, motives, and actors of both progressive and conservative Muslim movements and investigates the challenges for progressive Muslims in disseminating their narratives in Indonesia. The result argues that massive religious organizations in Indonesia articulate, internalize, and institutionalize progressive thought within their organizations and educational institutions. This article encourages progressive Muslims to reckon with and countermeasure conservativism among religious and political elites whose narratives exploit religious sentiments for practical purposes
