Interpreting Friendship and Betrayal in QS. Ali ‘Imrān [3]: 118: A Historical and Linguistic Analysis of Biṭānah and Min Dūnikum
The diversity of interpretations surrounding the prohibitive figure in QS. Ali ‘Imran [3]: 118, reflected in the terms biṭānah and min dūnikum as presented by various interpreters, carries the potential to foster exclusive behaviors within Muslim communities, especially in multi-religious regions. This study seeks to uncover the historical meaning intended in the verse to clarify the nature of this figure. Utilizing a qualitative approach, with the ma\u27nā-cum-maghzā method as an analytical tool, the research reveals that biṭānah refers to a close confidant who is granted access to personal information. Interpretations commonly align on this understanding, which contrasts with the term min dūnikum. The latter term is deeply embedded in its immediate context, pointing to a figure who lacks the same level of discretion or shared vision within a friendship. The divergence in vision leads to a potential for betrayal, prompting the verse to issue a caution regarding relationships with such individuals. This caution stems from the character of those who, not sharing the same vision, may harbor ill intentions, both physically and spiritually. The study concludes that the significance of min dūnikumlies not in religious identity but in the nature of the friendship, where differing visions can lead to a propensity for betrayal, even among members of the same community
The Relationship between the Jhungrojhung Tradition in Kajjan Village and the Hadith of Make an Easy on Others: Hubungan antara Tradisi Jhungrojhung di Desa Kajjan dengan Hadits Meringankan Beban Orang Lain
Mutual cooperation, which are a characteristic of Indonesian society have experienced many shifts because the motive is no longer caring for the surrounding community, but the money that is the reward. However, there are still forms of cooperation practices based on caring, such as those in Kajjan Village which is called Jhungrojhung. This article discusses the relationship between the practice of jhungrojhung and the hadith of the Prophet as its main basis. Furthermore, this research focuses on two problem formulations; First, what is the essence of the Jhungrojhung tradition in Kajjan Village, District. Blega Kab. Bangkalan?; and second, how does the Jhungrojhung Tradition correlate with the hadith of the Prophet saw? These questions were analyzed using a qualitative approach based on field studies and supported by a phenomenological approach. As a result, there was no shift in values in the practice of Jhungrojhung in Kajjan village because there was no economic class dichotomy in the Kajjan village community. Apart from that, the Prophet\u27s hadith regarding for people who assist others is the main motivation and practical basis for this practice, so its existence can still be felt today
Revisiting The Critical Edition of the Qur\u27an: Historical Perspectives and Contemporary Challenges
The concept of a critical edition of the Qur\u27an resurfaced following earlier attempts by western scholars such as Bergstresser (w. 1351 AH/1933 AD), Jeffery (w. 1378 AH/1959 AD), and Pretzl (w. 1360 AH/1941 AD), who were supported by Fischer (w. 1369 H/1949 M), Baumstark (w. 1368 AH/1948 AD), Ritter (w. 1391 AH/1971 AD), and Kahle (w. 1384 AH/1964 AD). In a conference at the University of Notre Dame in April 2005, Gabriel Said Reynolds proposed “The New Reading of the Qur`an” for updating textual reseacrh on the Qur`an, after various manuscripts were discovered as research material for the Qur`an. Additionally, among those who contributed to the conceptualization of the Critical Edition of the Qur\u27ān is Taufik Adnan Amal, a Muslim scholar. This qualitative-historical research, I examine the ideas of the Bergstresser, Jeffery, dan Pretzl’s version of the Critical Edition of the Qur`a and Taufik Adnan Amal’s version to find out whether both of them are same or different. As well, this study aims to answer the possibility of the existence of a contemporary Critical Edition of the Qur\u27an as implied by both of them. Even though they use the same term, their Critical Edition of Quran do not only have similarities, but also have differences. As for the possibility of using the ikhtiyâr technique at the present time to produce a Critical Edition for the Qur`an, many factors must be considered and should comply with the conditions that apply. LIVING QUR’AN DI MEDIA SOSIAL: RESEPSI Q.S AL-ASHR (1-3) DALAM FILM INSPIRASI “AL-QUR’AN MERINDUKANMU” PADA GONTOR TV
The study of the living Qur\u27an has now spread to cyberspace. The living Qur\u27an, which is generally synonymous with practical phenomena in real life, does not prevent the virtual world from taking part in representing the practice of the living Qur\u27an in the world of cinema. The same thing happened in the film "Al-Qur\u27an Missing You". This inspirational short film, which aired with a duration of 19:23 seconds, succeeded in attracting an audience of 23,113. This research aims to find receptions that have been classified by Ahmad Rafiq in the film "Al-Qur\u27an Missing You". To achieve this goal, this research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive-analytic approach while introducing Ahmad Rafiq\u27s version of the living Qur\u27an theory as the basis for data analysis. By referring to the research process, this research found that exegetical reception, aesthetic reception and functional reception were found in the film "Al-Qur\u27an Missing You". By providing specific efforts, the exegetical reception is realized in Ayah\u27s interpretation of surah al-Ashr verses 1-3, the aesthetic reception is represented in Alif\u27s pattern of reading the Qur\u27an in tartil and the functional reception is from the informative aspect which is indicated by the narrative knowledge of groups of people The losers are those who abandon good deeds. Meanwhile, functional reception from the performative aspect can be seen in Alif\u27s religious play, which begins to neutralize the reading of the Qur\u27an in his activities by relying on his understanding of surah al-Ashr 1-3.

Kajian living qur’an kini merambah ke dunia maya. Living qur’an yang umumnya identik dengan fenomena praktikal di kehidupan nyata, tak menghalangi dunia maya untuk turut andil merepresentasikan praktik living qur’an di dunia perfilman. Hal yang sama terjadi pada film “Al-qur’an Merindukanmu”. Film pendek inspirasi yang tayang dengan durasi 19:23 detik ini berhasil menggait penonton sebanyak 23.113. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan resepsi yang telah diklasifikasikan oleh Ahmad Rafiq sekaligus mencari proses transmisi dan transformasi pada film “Al-qur’an Merindukanmu”. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analisis sekaligus mengintrodusir teori living qur’an versi Ahmad Rafiq sebagai basis analisa data. Dengan mengacu pada proses penelitian tersebut, penelitian ini menemukan titik temu bahwa resepsi eksegesis, resepsi estetis dan resepsi fungsional terdapat dalam film “Al-qur’an Merindukanmu”. Dengan memberikan upaya spesifikasi, resepsi eksegesis terwujud pada penafsiran Ayah terhadap surah al-Ashr ayat 1-3, resepsi estetis terrepresentasi pada pola bacaan al-Qur’an Alif secara tartil dan resepsi fungsional dari aspek informatif yang terindikasi pada pengetahuan narasi golongan orang-orang yang merugi adalah golongan yang meninggalkan amal sholih. Sementara resepsi fungsional dari aspek performatif terlihat pada lakon beragama Alif yang mulai menetralisir dengan bacaan qur’an dalam aktivitasnya dengan bersandar pada pemahamannya terhadap surah al-ashr 1-3.

Cultural Integration in Tafsir al-Iklil fi Ma’ani al-Tanzil by Misbah Mustafa within the Context of Javanese Islam
This study examines Tafsir al-Iklil fi Ma’ani al-Tanzil by Misbah Mustafa in the context of shaping Javanese Islamic identity. Previous research has often overlooked the specific relationship between Qur\u27anic interpretation and the local socio-cultural dynamics of Javanese society. To address this gap, this study analyzes how Tafsir al-Iklil serves as a bridge, integrating Islamic teachings with Javanese cultural traditions. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, the primary data is sourced from Tafsir al-Iklil, supported by secondary literature. The analysis involves data selection, reduction, and interpretation, employing historical and hermeneutical approaches. The findings reveal that Misbah Mustafa’s exegesis provides a unique perspective on the development of Javanese Islam, emphasizing its integrative nature, where religious teachings harmonize with Javanese cultural practices. Misbah highlights responsive spiritual leadership and social responsibility in religious rituals, suggesting that Javanese traditions hold spiritual values that align with Islamic teachings. This study contributes to the academic discourse by demonstrating how Qur\u27anic exegesis plays a pivotal role in merging religious doctrines with cultural traditions, broadening the understanding of Javanese Islamic identity through a textual lens. The integrative typology that emerges from this exegesis portrays Islam in Java as more than a formal religion—it is a comprehensive way of life, encompassing social, economic, and cultural dimensions
The Rejection of Prophetic Traditions: Analyzing the Inkar Sunnah Movement in West Sumatra, Indonesia
This article explores the ideological stance of the Inkar Sunnah movement, which rejects the prophetic traditions (Sunnah) as a source of Islamic law, focusing on its development in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Historically, this movement can be traced back to political and sectarian conflicts in early Islamic history, such as those involving the Khawarij, Shia, and Mu\u27tazilah sects. Over time, skepticism towards hadith, fueled by fabricated traditions and modern Orientalist critiques, gained traction. Prominent figures like Dalimi Lubis and Nazwar Syamsu have continued to propagate Inkar Sunnah beliefs in modern Indonesia, advocating that the Qur’an alone suffices for Islamic jurisprudence. This research adopts a qualitative library approach, analyzing primary texts by these figures and secondary sources on hadith scholarship. The study critically examines their arguments and the socio-political context that allowed their ideas to proliferate, as well as strategies to counter this ideological challenge within Indonesian Islamic discourse. The findings reveal a persistent tension between traditional Sunni orthodoxy and reformist interpretations that seek to minimize or outright reject the role of the Sunnah, posing significant implications for Islamic legal and theological frameworks
Digitization of Religious Tafsir: The Fading of Indonesian Ulama Authority in Post Truth Era
In the current post-truth era, the traditional authority and credibility of Ulama, who have historically been regarded as the paramount source of religious knowledge, are increasingly compromised. This research investigates the diminishing role and efficacy of Indonesian Ulama in addressing religious and social challenges due to the pervasive influence of the Internet and social media, which provide rapid and seemingly authoritative solutions that overshadow traditional scholarly roles. The study employs a mixed-method approach, integrating observations, interviews, and comprehensive library research, incorporating both physical and digital sources. The findings elucidate three critical issues: first, the limited digital literacy among traditional Indonesian Ulama, which impedes their effective engagement with digital platforms; second, a notable gap in the public\u27s comprehension of how to utilize digital media for religious discourse, despite an increasing interest in religious matters; and third, the superficial understanding and heightened biases among the public, stemming from the ease of accessing religious solutions via social media. This study makes a significant contribution to the discourse by underscoring the urgent necessity for Ulama to enhance their digital literacy, thereby reclaiming their authoritative role in the socio-religious landscape and ensuring that their insights remain relevant and accessible in the digital age
Dinamika Pluralisme Agama Dalam Masyarakat Kontemporer
Pluralisme agama menjadi sebuah realitas yang semakin kompleks dalam masyarakat modern, dimana berbagai keyakinan dan tradisi keagamaan saling berbaur dan berinteraksi. Untuk memahami peran agama dalam membentuk dinamika sosial masyarakat kontemporer, perlu beberapa konsep kunci sosiologi agama, seperti interaksi sosial, struktur sosial, dan konflik yang diterapkan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana masyarakat mengelola keragaman agama. Dalam menghadapi kompleksitas ini, masyarakat kontemporer dihadapkan pada tantangan membanguan harmoni antaragama dan merespons perbedaan dengan sikap terbuka agar mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dinamika pluralisme agama. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti pengertian pluralisme menurut masyarakat kontemporer, implikasinya dengan beberapa tokoh Barat, agar membentuk persepsi masyarakat terhadap pluralisme agama
MENEGUHKAN IDENTITAS SOSIAL KEAGAMAAN: ANALISIS DAKWAH ATAS GERAKAN ISLAM LIBERAL
The main aim of this research is to understand the phenomenon of the liberal Islamic movement and the role of da\u27wah in this movement. This research aims to analyze the understanding of liberal Islamic movements, their goals, and the da\u27wah strategies used to spread liberal thoughts in Islam. The research design used is a qualitative approach. This research involved collecting data through in-depth interviews with members of the liberal Islamic movement, analysis of documents related to the movement, and observations of the movement\u27s activities and events. The data obtained was then analyzed descriptively and interpretively to understand the dynamics of the movement, the thinking of the actors, and their implications in social and religious contexts. The main result of this research is a deeper understanding of the liberal Islamic movement and the role of da\u27wah in the movement. This research reveals that the liberal Islamic movement aims to reform the understanding of Islam to make it more inclusive, tolerant and relevant to current developments. This movement uses various da\u27wah strategies, such as the use of social media, open religious teaching, and interfaith dialogue, to spread liberal thinking in Islam. The results of this research also show that the liberal Islamic movement faces challenges and controversy in society. Some parties consider this movement to be a deviation from actual religious teachings, while others see it as an attempt to reform the understanding of Islam to make it relevant to modern times. This controversy created fierce debate among Muslims and the wider community. The conclusion of this research is that the liberal Islamic movement is a complex and controversial phenomenon. Da\u27wah plays an important role in spreading liberal thoughts in Islam. This movement offers a more open and inclusive interpretation of religion, emphasizing the principles of freedom of thought, tolerance and a contextual understanding of Islamic teachings. Although controversial, this movement reflects an attempt to reform the understanding of Islam to make it relevant to modern times.

Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami fenomena gerakan Islam liberal dan peran dakwah dalam gerakan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman gerakan Islam liberal, tujuan mereka, serta strategi dakwah yang digunakan untuk menyebarkan pemikiran liberal dalam Islam. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan anggota gerakan Islam liberal, analisis dokumen yang terkait dengan gerakan tersebut, dan observasi terhadap kegiatan dan acara gerakan. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan interpretatif untuk memahami dinamika gerakan, pemikiran para aktor, dan implikasinya dalam konteks sosial dan agama. Hasil utama dari penelitian ini adalah pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang gerakan Islam liberal dan peran dakwah dalam gerakan tersebut. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa gerakan Islam liberal memiliki tujuan untuk mereformasi pemahaman Islam agar lebih inklusif, toleran, dan relevan dengan perkembangan zaman. Gerakan ini menggunakan berbagai strategi dakwah, seperti penggunaan media sosial, pengajaran agama yang terbuka, dan dialog antaragama, untuk menyebarkan pemikiran liberal dalam Islam. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa gerakan Islam liberal menghadapi tantangan dan kontroversi dalam masyarakat. Beberapa pihak menganggap gerakan ini sebagai bentuk penyimpangan dari ajaran agama yang sebenarnya, sementara yang lain melihatnya sebagai upaya untuk mereformasi pemahaman Islam agar relevan dengan zaman modern. Kontroversi ini menciptakan perdebatan yang sengit di kalangan umat Islam dan masyarakat luas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah gerakan Islam liberal merupakan fenomena yang kompleks dan kontroversial. Dakwah memainkan peran penting dalam menyebarkan pemikiran liberal dalam Islam. Gerakan ini menawarkan interpretasi agama yang lebih terbuka dan inklusif, dengan menekankan pada prinsip-prinsip kebebasan berpikir, toleransi, dan pemahaman yang kontekstual terhadap ajaran Islam. Meskipun kontroversial, gerakan ini mencerminkan upaya untuk mereformasi pemahaman Islam agar relevan dengan zaman modern.

KRISIS IDENTITAS MANUSIA DAN EKOLOGI MODERN DALAM PERSPEKTIF EKO-FILOSOFI SEYYED HOSSEIN NASR
This article focuses on understanding Seyyed Hossein Nasr\u27s eco-philosophy about the current crisis of modern human identity and ecology. The method used in this research is a descriptive-analytical method with an integration and interconnection approach with emphasizes the need for a meeting point between religion and ecology which leads to position taking both of which should no longer be show of power or conflict with each other, but seek a negotiating point (consensus) in facing the identity crisis of modern humans. The primary data used in this research are the works of Nasr himself. Meanwhile, secondary data in this research are books, journal articles and other websites that discuss Nasr\u27s thoughts. The research results show that Nasr proposed two models of his eco-philosophy approach. First, Islamic epistemology is the identity crisis of modern humans. Second, ecological Islamic epistemology. Some of Nasr\u27s alternatives to the crisis of modern human identity and ecology, first, traditional agricultural systems; second, the traditional way of building a house; third, consumption efficiency; fourth, control human greed; fifth, wise economics; sixth, human society with a deep responsibility towards nature.

Tulisan ini berfokus pada pemahaman eko-filosofi Seyyed Hossein Nasr sehubungan dengan krisis identitas manusia modern dan ekologi saat ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif-analitis dengan pendekatan integrasi dan interkoneksi, dengan menekankan perlu adanya titik temu antara agama dan ekologi yang mengantarkan pada position taking keduanya yang seharusnya tidak lagi saling bertentangan satu sama lain, akan tetapi mencari titik temu negosiasi (consensus) dalam menghadapi krisis identitas manusia modern. Data primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah karya-karya Nasr sendiri. Sedangkan data sekunder dalam penelitian ini adalah buku-buku, artikel jurnal, dan website lainnya yang membahas tentang pemikiran Nasr. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nasr mengusulkan dua model pendekatan eko-filosofinya. Pertama, epistemologi Islam krisis identitas manusia modern. Kedua, epistemologi Islam ekologi. Beberapa alternatif Nasr atas krisis identitas manusia modern dan ekologi di antaranya, pertama, sistem pertanian tradisional; kedua, cara tradisional membangun rumah; ketiga, efisiensi konsumsi; keempat, mengontrol keserakahan manusia; kelima, ekonomi bijaksana; keenam, masyarakat manusia dengan tanggung jawab mendalam terhadap alam.
