JESUS’ PRINCIPLES FOR PEACEBUILDING
This study explores Jesus’ ideas about peacebuilding in their historical context. The study considers Jesus’ teaching within the context of the conflict of first-century Palestine at its center. Jesus conceptualizes peace in the context of the kingdom of God and prioritizes peace over justice. The principles for Jesus’ strategy for peacebuilding are motivated by compassion, love, identity, forgiveness, and peace itself as a superior reality. The practical implications of these include reset of conflict realities, recognition of ambivalence of conflict and peace, building a culture of peace in the presence of conflict, reconciliation, repentance, and forgiveness, and human free will. The study identifies four conflict barriers that contribute to present-day conflict perpetuation: a destructive emotional orientation, a compromised vision for peace, compromised pragmatic ethics, and an ethnocentric view of peace
Relationship Quality as a Mediator of the Effects of Social Commerce on Purchase Intentions
Although social commerce has emerged as a prominent form of e-commerce, it remains unclear how businesses can effectively foster and cultivate strong relationships with consumers in this realm. Hence, this study examines the relationship and impact of social interactions and technical elements on consumer purchasing intentions within the Thai market. The study investigates how factors such as social support, platform quality, interpersonal interactions, and relationship quality influence purchase intentions. The objective is to address the knowledge gap in the literature related to social commerce. Data were obtained from 1,815 Thai participants through an online questionnaire. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was utilized to test the research hypotheses. The collective findings indicate that interpersonal interactions and platform quality positively influence purchase intentions, with relationship quality serving as a mediator. However, neither emotional nor informational support significantly affected relationship quality or purchase intentions, highlighting a preference for trust in close-knit relationships over online reviews. Overall, this study offers empirical evidence and managerial implications that can help businesses develop strategies for engaging with social commerce
The Digital Payment System: How Does It Impact Indonesia's Poverty?
Digital payments are currently well-developed and available through various methods, especially in Indonesia. Digital payments are essential in ensuring the country’s economy keeps running and in helping to boost the economy. However, the impact of such payments on poverty is currently unknown. This study examines the impact of digital payments on poverty rates in Indonesia. We use the ECM (Error Correction Model) to analyze the impact of digital payments on poverty in the short and long term, using data from 2009 to 2022. The results show that an increase in digital payments through the volume of ATM and debit card transactions is associated with short and long-term poverty reduction. Meanwhile, the variable volume of credit card transactions and volume of electronic money transactions does not significantly impact poverty in the short or long term. Economic growth as a control variable also plays a role in reducing poverty significantly in the long term
