    Get PDF
This study investigates the factors influencing the attitudes, behaviors and intentions toward the adoption of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) technology, among art and design students at Chinese universities. The conceptual framework is grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2), and economic consumption theory. Data were collected from 434 art and design students with AIGC experience at a university in Henan, China. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized for analysis. The findings show that Perceived Benefit, Perceived Usefulness, and Social Influence, are necessary conditions, positively affecting students’ attitudes towards AIGC. Perceived Benefit, Attitude, Social Influence, Hedonic Motivation, and Facilitating Conditions, were found to be necessary conditions for behavioral intentions, positively influencing students’ behavioral intentions to adopt AIGC. Social Influence showed significance, but the necessity was not strong. Perceived Risk held neither significance nor necessity. Therefore, promoting AIGC adoption in Chinese art and design programs should focus on resource allocation and perception creation

This research examines the interplay of psychological literacy, self-discipline skills, and emotional intelligence in enhancing forensic accounting proficiency among undergraduate accounting students in Thailand. Addressing a literature gap, the study introduces emotional intelligence as a mediating factor connecting psychological acumen and self-regulatory competencies to forensic accounting skills. Utilizing a comprehensive questionnaire based on an extensive literature review, the study assesses four constructs: Psychological Literacy (PL), Self-Discipline Skills (SDS), Emotional Intelligence (EI), and Forensic Accounting Skills (FAS). Initially validated through a pilot test with 30 participants, the final survey obtained responses from 605 predominantly female undergraduate students, using a convenience sampling method. Analysis, employing the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, revealed a significant impact of psychological literacy on emotional intelligence and forensic accounting skills, affirming its foundational importance in accounting education. Moreover, self-discipline skills were found to more effectively influence forensic accounting skill development in comparison to psychological literacy, emphasizing the role of personal management in acquiring specialized accounting capabilities. Crucially, emotional intelligence emerged as the strongest predictor of forensic accounting skills, highlighting the necessity for emotional awareness in the accounting profession. This study advocates for an integrated educational approach, incorporating psychological literacy, self-discipline, and emotional intelligence into the accounting education curriculum. Such an approach is essential not only for meeting the technical demands of forensic accounting but also for addressing the emotional and psychological challenges of the profession. The research provides valuable insights for curriculum development and underscores the need for future investigations into additional variables influencing forensic accounting skills

    Get PDF
This study examines the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance on the cost of equity (COE), prior to and during the COVID-19 period. This study analyses 65 Indonesian public companies in the non-banking and financial sectors that disclosed all ESG information in 2019 and 2020. 2019 is taken as the pre-COVID-19 period, while 2020 is the year during COVID-19. The results reveal that ESG performance is favorable in lowering the COE. However, the effect of ESG performance on COE decreased during COVID-19, such that it was ineffective in mitigating the negative impacts of COVID-19 on the COE. The disclosure of ESG includes the firm’s endeavors to be transparent to its stakeholders, thereby mitigating information asymmetry. The ability of companies to manage information asymmetry is substantial during high-uncertainty periods, such as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. However, this study is limited to Indonesian companies. As emerging markets, countries with characteristics similar to Indonesia may benefit from this study

    Get PDF
The Geopolitical risk (GPR) generated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine has triggered various impacts and responses in terms of financial markets and investors’ sentiments regarding sensible actions. The purpose of this study was to focus on GPR and responses to financial assets and commodities using a vector autoregressive (VAR) model. The results uncovered differences in the various responses of financial assets and commodities in different durations. It was found that under increasing GPR, gold is a safe haven for energy commodities, while bitcoin is safe haven for the capital market, and treasury bonds and US dollars are a safe haven for other various financial assets as well as commodities such as energy. Since gold’s behavior is determined by itself, investment in gold can help reduce risk in portfolios when there is an increase in geopolitical risk and at times of a bearish market

The reading interest of students goes with technological advancements. This qualitative study, employed phenomenology, aimed to identify the e-reading experiences of ESL learners as a form of pleasure reading. Key Informant Interview and Focus Group Discussion were carried out. Significant themes were identified through thematic analysis. Results showed that students viewed their e-reading experiences as a form of pleasure reading for relaxing and stress relieving. It is entertaining and entails lessons as well as it capacates them to have an understanding of emotions, improving their reading skills as well as enriching positive thinking. Conversely, comprehending reading texts, improving macro skills and grammatical skills, and learning new words are the improvements gained by the ESL learners. An instructional material was developed to cater the needs of the learners to become motivated to read and being the best version of themselves. E-reading increased the interest of the students to explore the wonders of reading. Indeed, they filled out the gaps in the reading process. Having the necessary skills led them to understand the texts which encouraged them to read more. It is indispensable on the part of the students to engage more into e-reading since they applied the situations in their own lives. They learned lessons as well as the competencies to confront the challenges that they are facing in life. E-reading integrated the skills which would be necessary for students to love reading and improve their communicative competence
