At the end of the Middle Ages, the verbal act of the vow loses its commissive value and becomes a verbal instrument that expresses reinforcement of the assertion and, after a process of subjectivization and pragmatization, it starts to show symptomatic interjective values. This article studies the process of grammaticalization and pragmatization of three phraseological constructions, which are formed from the canonical scheme of the vow, and which will be modified over the centuries in their form and function. The slot is first covered by nominal elements of a religious nature characteristic of its origin and, later, after social changes and socio-pragmatic conditions, by euphemistic, jocular elements, typical of the golden comedies or burlesque poetry, or by indeterminate pronouns, as is also recorded in contemporary dictionaries. At that time, the construction is grammaticalized and undergoes a process of pragmatization that makes it equivalent to a symptomatic interjection 'Voto a tal', and to a lesser extent 'Voto a Dios', which expresses values of anger, admiration or surprise. From the 18th century onwards, a new phraseological construction 'Voto va' is found in the texts, which acquires the same values and will be recorded in the corpora until the 20th century. At the end of the Middle Ages, the verbal act of the vow loses its commissive value and becomes a verbal instrument that expresses reinforcement of the assertion and, after a process of subjectivization and pragmatization, it starts to show symptomatic interjective values.
This paper aims to highlight how the narratives of Max Aub and Antonio Muñoz Molina serve as instruments of resistance against the amnesia imposed by Francoism. Using as reference the novels that make up Aub's Laberinto mágico and Muñoz Molina's Beatus Ille, La noche de los tiempos, El jinete polaco, and Sefarad, the analysis will focus on the resources and strategies employed by both authors to recreate the war, Francoism, and exile, providing a version of events that reflects the truth, avoids simplistic manicheism, and pays tribute to all those victims not acknowledged by historiography. Ultimately, this paper seeks to demonstrate that fiction can prove to be a crucial tool for recovering and transmitting those silenced truths and for building a more inclusive, just, and democratic historical memory. This paper aims to highlight how the narratives of Max Aub and Antonio Muñoz Molina serve as instruments of resistance against the amnesia imposed by Francoism.
It established regulations for the preparation, preservation, and sale of medicines, also regulating the relationship between doctors and pharmacists. The text emphasized the ethical value of collaboration between doctors, responsible for diagnoses and prescriptions, and pharmacists, who prepared and administered the medicines. Indeed, the cooperation between these two professional roles was seen as essential for ensuring effective patient treatment.
For a long time, the site of Tindari, an important city on the northern coast of Sicily that has been the subject of investigation since the 1950s, has seen scholars focus more on defining the urban structure and analysing the city's monumental findings, reserving less space for aspects of the centre's material culture in the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The recent resumption of investigations has given new impetus to the studies, offering an opportunity to deepen our knowledge in this regard. The present paper focuses on the attestations of stamps on Italic Terra Sigillata pottery, starting from an unpublished nucleus of finds from the revision of the materials from the Lamboglia 1950-1952 excavations and from the more recent investigations carried out by the University of Turin in the Cercadenari district, analysed in relation to the already known attestations: the census of the identified potters, almost all of whom are still unknown in the Tindaritan panorama, opens the way to interesting considerations on the variety of production attested, on the city's main supply channels, on the commercial circuits in which it was involved and above all on the possibility of its insertion into a Mediterranean network, evaluating the role of Tindari within the broader framework of the conspicuous imports of Italic terra sigillata to Sicily between the late Republican age and the early Imperial period.
Abstract:The aim of the present work is to highlight some Portuguese maritime legends which are still part of the popular tradition. These legends are strongly connected to Portugal and its maritime history in the period of the voyages of discovery and we will start our study with the most ancient legend regarding the founding of Lisbon by the quintessentially voyager, Ulysses.

At the end of the 19th century, renowned Spanish writers associated with naturalism, such as Emilia Pardo Bazán and Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, used short stories to depict the customs, characters, and environments of their regions, Galicia and Valencia. In both authors, the sea emerges as a significant element in their narratives, exerting an inevitable influence on the lives of coastal inhabitants and sailors who spend their lives in boats. The objective of this study is to analyze a selection of short stories from these two authors, focusing mainly on the relationship between man and the sea. The study will examine how both writers describe the marine environment from a naturalist perspective and how the sea influences the characters’ personalities and destinies. Additionally, the role of the sea in their stories will be compared, as they assign different meanings to it due to their different ideology. Through this analysis, the influence of naturalism on both authors becomes evident, as the Galician and Valencian seas can be portrayed as relentless and destructive forces. However, at certain moments, the Galician sea takes on a maternal role, nurturing and sheltering the characters, while the Valencian sea becomes an effective ally of the lower classes, supporting their struggles and aspirations
The western end of the Mediterranean Sea is going through a very special situation at the beginning of the Modern Age. It is a border space, where the confrontation between Christianity and Islam takes place. It is also a natural space subject to adverse physical phenomena. For this reason, legends and stories of celestial interventions flowed into the world of the sea, which permeated the collective mentalities and influenced the psychology of the people of the sea. Among the most notable prodigies is the appearance of sacred images among the waves of the sea, witnesses of the early Christian world. In most cases they are effigies of the Virgin Mary and literary testimonies tell these stories. Mary's protection over merchants, sailors and fishermen is currently maintained around the Virgin of Carmen, but many other marian devotions showed her daily protection at the sea
II a.C.)
La publicación de obras como The Corrupting Sea: a Study of Mediterranean History de P. Horden & N. Purcell (Oxford 2000, pp.124-126) o Globalisation and the Roman World. World History, Connectivity and Material Culture de M. Pitts & M.J. Versluys (eds.) The publication of works such as The Corrupting Sea: a Study of Mediterranean History by P. Horden & N. Purcell (Oxford 2000, pp. 124-126) or Globalization and the Roman World. World History, Connectivity and Material Culture by M. Pitts & M.J. Versluys (eds.) (Cambridge 2015, pp.107, 244, 248 etc.) have once again pointed out the importance of connectivity in ancient times. Until the construction of Via Domitia (last decades of the 2nd century BC), this connectivity materialized in the Northwest of the Mediterranean through sea routes that connected Rome with the Iberian Peninsula, the westernmost region of the Mediterranean. The ships that made the crossing depended on the winds and currents that governed navigation and on the safe anchoring points located along the route. Control of the Balearic Islands, the Gulf of Roses, the Ligurian coast, as well as Corsica and Sardinia, were vital to ensure safe traffic through the Gulf of Lion (Oros.1.66)
