The Global Impact Index as a Tool for Assessing Inclusion and Social Effectiveness: Arcobaleno Social Cooperative’s case
No full textThe assessment of social impact has become a strategic priority for social cooperatives, in response to growing need for transparency and accountability. However, traditional evaluation models, often developed for for-profit companies, fail to capture complexity and specificity of organizations that integrate social, economic, and environmental missions. This study presents Global Impact Index (GII Italian version IGI), an evaluation model designed to meet needs of type B social cooperatives, with a particular focus on reality of Arcobaleno Social Cooperative.
GII is structured around three fundamental dimensions: environmental, managerial, and social. Environmental dimension uses innovative tools such as Integrated Well-being Performance (IWP Italian version PIB) and Integrated Environmental Variation (IEV – Italian version VAI) to analyze cooperative's activities' contribution to urban well-being and long-term sustainability. Managerial dimension examines operational sustainability, the relationship between productivity and social inclusion, and workforce dynamics, highlighting how cooperative's social mission affects economic efficiency. Finally, social dimension explores well-being and satisfaction of worker-members, emphasizing cooperative's impact on quality of life and social integration.
This study's results demonstrate that GII is an effective tool for measuring, monitoring, and improving performance of social cooperatives. Integrating three dimensions provides a holistic view of impact produced, offering a basis for targeted strategic decisions and stakeholder engagement. Although model has some limitations, such as need for further testing in different contexts, it represents a replicable and scalable approach for third sector. The GII makes a significant contribution to literature on impact assessment and opens new perspectives for sustainability and social inclusion

Big Data and Competition Law: Navigating Trade Practices in the Digital Age
No full textAccording to International Data Cooperation, it is expected that the world data will grow at a compound annual rate of 61% that is from 33 Zettabytes in 2018 to 175 Zettabytes by 20251 . It is prudent to say that data, more specifically consumer data, can be termed as the new raw material for digital businesses. By skilfully leveraging big data (which is the collection of large and complex data sets), e-commerce companies are able to understand the current market trends and consumer purchasing behaviour. This gives them the potential to make near-accurate forecasts and enhance the user shopping experience by providing personalised products, implementing targeted advertising, optimising prices, and elevating customer services. Although the accumulation of big data gives companies a substantial competitive advantage yet, it’s use is not free from anti-competitive concerns. This paper aims to shed light on present and potential anti-competitive practices that data-driven businesses indulge in that can lead to market distortion. The author brings forth both sides of the discussion, one that argues how big data can lead to anti-competitive practices and the other that tries to disprove this notion. The debate around big data and its impact on competition law usually circles around three questions that shall be addressed in this paper. Firstly, could accumulating data could contribute to market power and anti-competitive actions? Secondly, what are the effects of big data on market transparency? Thirdly, could data be used as an instrument to do anti-competitive conduct and abuse of dominant position? Apart from trying to find answers to these questions, this paper also examines some key elements of competition law, such as delineating ‘relevant market’ and assessing ‘dominance’, that are regarded as prerequisites in any antitrust inquiry across the globe. The author discusses these elements via an international comparative study of big data-related cases. This article concludes by arguing whether or not reliance on traditional antitrust tools makes the regulator’s work difficult in assessing trade practices that involve big data. No full textThis article explores the interplay between history and nature in the philosophy of Hegel and its reception in British Idealism. Starting with Hegel’s concept of reason as the logical structure of the world, the discussion highlights the tension between the rational and contingent dimensions of reality. Hegel identifies an inherent ‘impotence’ in nature, consisting in its inability to fully realize the concept, which leaves an element of contingency that resists complete rational integration. This issue became a focal point for British Idealists such as Andrew Seth Pringle-Pattison and David George Ritchie, who grappled with reconciling Hegelian rationalism with Darwinian evolutionary theory. Seth critiques Hegel’s failure to rationalize contingency, perceiving it as a breakdown of his system, while Ritchie integrates Darwin’s natural selection into Hegelian thought to address these limitations. By adapting Darwinian mechanisms to explain natural and historical processes, Ritchie redefines the status of reason, risking a shift towards determinism. The article concludes by reflecting on the tension between reason and contingency as a central problem in understanding the relationship between freedom, history, and nature

No full textEn este artículo se propone un acercamiento a la hipotética puesta en escena de la obra teatral Dicha y desdicha del juego y devoción de la Virgen de Ángela de Azevedo – dramaturga portuguesa que escribió en castellano en la segunda mitad del siglo XVII– por medio de sus acotaciones explícitas e implícitas. Se tratará sobre todo de examinar la concepción escénica de la dramaturga en el momento de la creación y las maquinarias que podrían utilizarse para representar los pasajes más espectaculares. La inclusión de algunas imágenes de reconstrucción virtual de las escenas más representativas permitirán, además, una mejor visualización ideal de su puesta en escena.This article aims to give an approach to the potential staging of the play Dicha y desdicha del juego de la Virgen by Ángela de Azevedo, a Portuguese playwright who wrote in Spanish in the latter half of the 17th century, by means of its explicit and implicit stage directions. It will mainly focus on investigating what kind of knowledge about the stage space Ángela de Azevedo had while was writing the play and the stage equipment that might be used in order to perform the most stunning moments.Furthermore, the inclusion of some images about the virtual reconstruction of the most representative scenes will offer a better ideal visualisation of the staging
