This study analyses the representation of marine environments in Spanish and English general press, focusing on the conceptual relationships and semantic associations of the lemmas mar, océano, sea, and ocean. The research, based on a comparable corpus of texts, explores the predominant themes in these representations contrastively (English/Spanish). To extract quantitative data from the corpus relating to collocations, keywords, and semantic and grammatical relationships of the lemmas, the Sketch Engine tool is used. The results indicate that there are differences in the themes addressed in both languages. The Spanish press tends to emphasise social, cultural and environmental aspects, while the English press focuses more on issues related to industry, ecology, and science
Umbrales y borrascas.
The comedies of captivity thematized the situation of the Christians captured by Turkish corsairs in the Mediterranean Sea between the XVI and XVII centuries. Some died for defending their faith, but there was also the phenomenon of those who reneged and joined the Muslim world. Thus, the dramatic conflict is articulated around one “another”, which mirrors and strains one's own culture and identity. In addition to its Christian and Muslim characters, the unfailing protagonist of most of the comedies is the sea. This and its shores are presented as spatial and cultural frontier, threshold and limen of transcendental experiences or stormy scene of individual and collective battles. We will exemplify with comedies belonging to different authors: La fianza satisfecha by Lope de Vega, El príncipe constante by Calderón de la Barca and Las misas de San Vicente Ferrer by Fernando de Zárate. The comedies of captivity thematized the situation of the Christians captured by Turkish corsairs in the Mediterranean Sea between the XVI and XVII centuries.

The Jurisprudential and Economic Foundations of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Contracts and Their Role in Managing Liquidity in Islamic Banks
This paper examines the jurisprudential and economic foundations of Build–Operate–Transfer (BOT) contracts and evaluates their role as a Sharīʿah-compliant mechanism for managing excess liquidity in Islamic banks. Using a descriptive and analytical methodology, the study traces the historical emergence of BOT-type arrangements, clarifies their legal nature within contemporary concession and public–private partnership (PPP) frameworks, and outlines the main contractual parties, phases, and variants (such as BOOT, DBFO, and related models). On the Sharīʿah side, the paper analyses classical and modern fiqh discussions and positions of leading Sharīʿah bodies, showing that BOT structures can be accommodated as composite contracts built primarily on istiṣnāʿ and ijārah, supported by the general principle that the default rule in transactions is permissibility. Attention is given to the maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah (objectives of Islamic law) served by BOT, including the provision of public utilities, preservation and development of assets, risk sharing, and promotion of real-sector investment. Economically, the study argues that conventional, debt-based financing contributes only limitedly to added value and national production, whereas BOT contracts are intrinsically tied to the creation, operation, and eventual transfer of productive infrastructure. When deployed by Islamic banks, BOT arrangements enable the mobilisation of surplus liquidity into large-scale projects through instruments such as sukuk issuances, syndicated financing, and dedicated investment funds, while transferring construction and operational risks to specialised private entities and preserving final public ownership of strategic assets. The paper concludes that, under appropriate Sharīʿah structuring and regulatory support, BOT contracts can serve as an effective tool for liquidity management in Islamic banks, simultaneously advancing sustainable development, providing fiscal relief to governments, and enhancing the social utility of Islamic finance
Peace with nature as the new nature of peace
Mounting ecological crises—climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and resource depletion—act as “threat multipliers,” undermining livelihoods, intensifying insecurity, and fueling violent conflict. This perspective argues that peace in the twenty-first century must extend beyond the absence of armed conflict to encompass harmony between humanity and the natural environment. Lasting peace, therefore, requires reinvestment in ecosystems as critical foundations for resilience, prosperity, and stability. Cultivating Nature Quotient (NQ) - the capacity to perceive and act upon ecological interdependence - is a prerequisite for leaders and societies to secure peace with nature and safeguard civilization’s continuity
Safety Walk Around as a proactive tool for improving the quality of care: an exploratory survey among healthcare professionals.
OBJECTIVE
This study aims to explore the knowledge, perception and interest of healthcare professionals at the ‘Mazzoni’ Hospital in Ascoli Piceno on Clinical Risk Management tools and, in particular, on the Safety Walk Around (SWA) technique.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The descriptive, cross-sectional observational study was conducted between January and April 2025 at the “Mazzoni” Hospital of the AST in Ascoli Piceno, by recruiting doctors, nurses and nursing coordinators. Data were collected through a questionnaire based on a tool previously used in an Italian study, adapted to the local context, consisting of a personal details section and 15 items based on a Likert scale. The sample, selected according to convenience criteria, included only staff on duty.
RESULTS
A total of 320 questionnaires out of 373 distributed were analysed, with a response rate (RR) of 86%, mainly consisting of female nurses. The data showed that 29% of the participants knew the Safety Walk Around technique. The inferential analysis, performed using the Chi-square test, revealed statistically significant associations with a p-value <0.05 between professional qualification and participation in training courses on Clinical Risk and between professional qualification and prior knowledge of the Safety Walk Around.
DISCUSSION
The limited level of knowledge of Safety Walk Around among professionals at the “Mazzoni” Hospital of the AST in Ascoli Piceno seems to be attributable to inconsistencies in training courses and to the still partial dissemination of this methodology in clinical practice, thus suggesting the need for a greater training exposure, mainly for nursing staff and, to a lesser extent, for Nursing Coordinators. The critical issues identified were mainly of organisational and cultural nature, like lack of time, communication difficulties and resistance to change, which can affect the systematic implementation of the methodology. The main critical issues perceived with regard to the adoption of the SWA were: lack of time, cultural resistance to change and difficulties in interprofessional communication.
CONCLUSIONS
The survey highlighted a lack of knowledge on the Safety Walk Arounds technique among healthcare professionals and, at the same time, a propensity for training in proactive approaches to clinical risk management. The critical issues that emerged suggest the need to promote structured awareness-raising and training initiatives, as well as to consolidate clinical leadership, in order to support the systematic implementation of this methodology and foster a mature and shared safety culture

This paper offers a compilation of a specific group of those anomalous words known as “palabras diacríticas” or “palabras idiomáticas” (idiomatic words) in Spanish phraseology. This group contains those lexical units that do not have a clear etymology or lexicogenesis process, so they would not be clearly cataloged by the traditional classification of idiomatic words, based on their etymology. The causes of their etymological irrecoverability are analyzed, which is why they would form a special group within the idiomatic words, little studied to date, and it aims to lay the foundations for a detailed analysis for each of them with a clear diachronic and phraseological orientation. This paper offers a compilation of a specific group of those anomalous words known as “palabras diacríticas” or “palabras idiomáticas” (idiomatic words) in Spanish phraseology.
