    Foot elevation method fails to explain increased trailing limb obstacle contact risk

    本研究は,後続脚の挙上方法が障害物との接触リスクに及ぼす影響を明らかにすることを目的とした.本実験では,健康な若年女性8名を対象とし,対象者はその場でFront(先行脚の挙上方法)条件とBack(後続脚の挙上方法)条件を左右脚それぞれで実施した.その結果,Back条件では,Front条件よりも足部の挙上が高くなることが示された.後続脚は先行脚と比較して,即時的な視覚情報の不足がある.このことから,後続脚は,障害物の高さと自身が挙上した足部の高さに関する情報が曖昧であり,過剰に足部を挙上させていたことが推測される.本研究の結果,先行脚と後続脚の足部の挙上方法が異なることが,先行脚と比較して後続脚での障害物の接触頻度が高くなることを説明できないことが示唆された.Even when the heights of the barriers to be stepped over by the left and right limbs are the same, the trailing limb has been shown to come into contact with the obstacle more frequently than the leading limb. This study aimed to clarify the effect of the method of elevating the trailing limb on the risk of contact with obstacles. Eight healthy female participants elevated their feet. The participants performed the front (leading limb) and back (trailing limb) conditions with their left and right feet, respectively. The results showed that foot elevation in the back condition was higher than in the front condition. We suggest that the foot elevation method does not explain the risk of contact between the foot and an obstacle.departmental bulletin pape

    A consideration of gender issues in school education―Focusing on gender track and hidden curriculum―

    本稿では,先行研究からジェンダートラックと隠れたカリキュラムに注目し,学習者がそれらに,どのような影響を受けるのか考察した.結果,ジェンダートラックと隠れたカリキュラムは個々の因子ではなく,相互に関係する可能性を示唆した.特に,隠れたカリキュラムについては,教員が再生産するものと学習者自身に内在するものがあり,学習指導要領や学習教材などが影響する.他方,ジェンダートラックについては,隠れたカリキュラムを受けたことで進路選択をトラッキングしてしまうことで,ジェンダートラックが表面化し学習者は生れながらの性に影響されて進路を水路づけてしまう可能性があることを示した.This paper examines the impact of gender tracks and the hidden curriculum on learners, based on previous research. The findings suggest that these factors are interconnected rather than independent. Specifically, hidden curricula include elements reproduced by teachers and those inherent in learners, influenced by learning guidelines and educational materials. Meanwhile, gender tracks become apparent as learners undergo the hidden curriculum, potentially guiding career choices based on their innate gender.departmental bulletin pape

    Promoting Stair Climbing among Young Women Using Voting Prompts

    This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of voting prompts in encouraging young women to choose stairs over escalators on university campuses. A quasi-experimental design was employed to count the number of individuals using stairs and escalators. The study consisted of a 1-week baseline period, followed by two 1-week intervention periods with motivational prompts. The first intervention highlighted the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and the second used a voting prompt related to oneʼs favorite sweet. Chi-square tests were conducted to compare stair and escalator use across the baseline and the two intervention periods. The study recorded 4,819 observations of individuals using stairs or adjacent escalators. The results indicated a significant increase in the use of stairs among young women when prompted with their favorite sweet during the intervention period. Among these women, these prompts were found to be more effective than healthy lifestyle prompts. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that voting prompts are an effective method of promoting physical activity among young women in university settings.departmental bulletin pape

    Examination of the concept and categorization of ambiguity that includes of bipolarity and coexistence between extraversion and introversion, thinking and feeling, sensation and intuition

    This study aims to examine of concept and categorization of ambiguity that includes bipolarity and coexistence between extraversion (E) and introversion (I), thinking (T) and feeling (F), and sensation (S) and intuition (N) using the Jung Psychological Types Scale for Coexistence (JPTS-C). Despite the bipolarity assumption, the JPTS-C uses two pairs of items-each scored on a 7-point Likert scale in a unipolar format—to measure the coexistence of between E and I, T and F, and S and N. Studies investigated the concepts and characteristics of psychological types between the JPTS-C and JPTS. Data were obtained from previous studies (Sato, 2022) in which undergraduate students (n = 324) completed the JPTS-C and JPTS. Evidence for the attitude types of the JPTS-C scores was presented based on the agreement of psychological types with the JPTS; however, there was weak evidence for the judgement types and the perception types of the JPTS-C scores.     Literature Review on Home Help Service for People with Mental Disabilities―Focusing on the Period from the Establishment of the System to the Unification of Welfare Services for People with Disabilities―

    The aim of this study was to identify future research topics by examining trends in research papers from Japan on home care for people with mental disabilities (home help services). A total of 30 papers were selected based on specific criteria and were mainly categorized into the following themes: [Evaluation of support characteristics and human resource training in pilot projects][, Evaluation of the current state of support and issues], [Helper skills and support attitudes], [Factors promoting/hindering service use], and [Possibility of involving people with mental disabilities as service providers]. Since the establishment of a unified system for disability types, surveys have highlighted the difficulties associated with providing support and fostering collaboration, considering the burden on users, and addressing insufficient support from helpers. Future research should consider the mechanisms of support provided by helpers to ensure effective support, and investigate how service providers and care managers comprehend the characteristics of support and contribute to its effectiveness. Considering the community-based comprehensive care system, further research is needed on collaboration with local stakeholders, as well as the incorporation of the perspectives of people with mental disabilities and their families into service provision.departmental bulletin pape

    筆者は,2019年度の卒業研究「Share! 〜書くことを楽しむための,移動式書道教室と新しい文具の提案〜」から,書道に関するワークショップや教室を自主開催している。2023年度以降は「喫茶stove の『書道のじかん』」「もっと自分を好きになるペン字教室」「自分をもっと好きになる!書道ワークショップ in TOKYO」「夏うちわに自由に書いてみよう」「新春書き初めワークショップ」の5 種類のワークショップを行った。 「喫茶stove の『書道のじかん』」は大阪市福島区にある喫茶店「喫茶stove」において,2023年7月以降(図1),毎月開講している。当初はボールペンと筆ペンを用いてきれいな字を書くためのコツを伝えていたが,2024年2月以降,ボールペンのみに変更した。 「もっと自分を好きになるペン字教室」は,兵庫県尼崎市武庫之荘のカフェ「N COFFEE FACTORY」において,2023年9月以降,毎月開催している。こちらはワークショップで使えるスペースと什器の関係により,当初からボールペン字のみを教えている。 「自分をもっと好きになる!書道ワークショップ in TOKYO」は,東京都世田谷区のレンタルスペース「K’s STUDIO 駒沢」にて2023年9月9日に開催した。くじ引きで引いたお題に沿った作品をはがき一枚に自由に表現するという書道ワークショップである。 「夏うちわに自由に書いてみよう」と「新春書き初めワークショップ」(図2)は,前述の「喫茶stove の『書道のじかん』」の特別ワークショップ回として,それぞれ2023年7月29日と,2024年1月6日に開催した。 これらのワークショップは,従来型の書道教室とは違う形で筆と墨を使って字を書くことは楽しいと知ってもらうためと,日常生活で使用する文字を美しくきれいに書けるようになるためを目的としており,成果を得ることができた(図3)。departmental bulletin pape
