The Impact of Difference in Affective Well-Being on Interpersonal Stressors, Self-Control, and Aggression in Female University Students
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to elucidate the relationship between differences in affective well-being and interpersonal stressors, self-control, and aggression. An analysis was conducted on 796 female university students. The results revealed that the group with high levels of positive well-being and low levels of negative well-being exhibited lower scores in interpersonal stressors and aggression compared to the other three groups. Regarding interpersonal stressors, the scores were the lowest across all variables. Furthermore, path analysis results indicated variations in the influence of each variable on each group. Thus, differences in affective well-being were suggested to have distinct effects on self-control and aggression.departmental bulletin pape
老人クラブ会員におけるボランティア活動と身体・心理・社会的健康状態との関連
Get PDFAn anonymous self-recording questionnaire survey was conducted involving 234 members of senior citizens clubs in City A of area B to clarify the potential association of volunteer activities with the physical, mental and social health status of the club members.
Subjects of the survey were 146 members of senior citizens clubs whose responses were rated valid. Univariate analysis of whether volunteer activities were implemented and whether volunteer activities aided directly people were implemented or not revealed that participation in volunteer activities had a beneficial effect on the participants’ health status compared to non-participation. However, more subjective aspects of the subjects’ health, such as their personal assessment, their impression, social activities and social networking by participants in volunteer activities, was the same as of those who had not participated. Multivariate analysis of whether volunteer activities were implemented or participated in, chosen as a dependent variable, revealed that the subjective view of their health status was related to participation in volunteer activities. Furthermore, even those who are frail participated in volunteer activities.
For these reasons, health status didn’t depend on activities’ content, and to enhance their personal assessment, to participate in volunteer activities seemed to be related to maintenance and improvement of health status. We should view all senior citizens as supporters.老人クラブ会員におけるボランティア活動と身体・心理・社会的健康状態との関連を明らかにするため、A 市B 地区老人クラブの60 歳以上の高齢者234 人を対象に無記名自記式質問紙調査を実施した。
有効回答の146 人を分析対象とし、ボランティア活動の有無別および人を直接的に支援する活動の有無別に単変量解析を行った結果、ボランティア活動を行っている者は、主観的健康感とIADL、抑うつ、社会活動とソーシャルネットワークが有意に高く、人を直接的に支援する活動の有無別にはいずれの項目にも有意差はなかった。ボランティア活動の有無を従属変数とした多変量解析では主観的健康感が抽出された。また、フレイル状態の者も一定数ボランティア活動へ参加していた。以上より、活動内容に関わらず、あらゆる高齢者を支援者側として捉え、主観的健康感の強化とボランティア活動への参加を促すことが、健康状態の維持・向上につながると考えられる。departmental bulletin pape

Reevaluating “The Rover” in the Context of the History of Pirates in Branwell Bront??s Angrian Poems
Get PDFBranwell Bront??s depiction of Alexander Percy as a pirate plays a significant role in understanding his poetical works in their historical context, for Branwell presents the original aspects of pirates of his time in his poem “The Rover.” Generally acknowledged as “Rougue” or “Rogue,” Branwell?s portrayal of Percy throughout his poetical works and prose narratives foreshadows more than a mere main character and personae, and more than Branwell?s enthusiastic pursuit of the Byronic hero. Even though newly published analyses of Percy by several critics show the romantic elements or aspects already present in Barnwell?s earlier poems, we can still argue that, especially in the earlier phase of Branwell?s works, the pirate figure of Percy is quite removed from the romantic figure in Byron?s The Corsair. Examining the history of pirates alongside Byron?s famous poem, Branwell outspeaks the originality of his works in “The Rover.” This paper focuses on why Branwell used a pirate as his personae and reexamines the received critical evaluation of his poems.departmental bulletin pape
