Contemporary music and technology: An action-research in teacher 5 training

Structural variations in the trans-carboxylate/chlorido axis that impact the mode of action of Pt(ii) complexes
The design of trans-platinum(II) complexes marked a significant turning point in the development of unconventional anticancer metallodrugs. Compared to cisplatin, these complexes induce distinctly different cellular responses and are often active against cisplatin-resistant cell lines. In this study, we synthesized and fully characterized two new Pt(II) complexes, introducing one acetate (−OCOCH3) ligand (X) into the trans-PtXX’ axis, where X’ is either acetate or chlorido. We evaluated their cytotoxicity across a panel of malignant (Capan-1, B16, MCF7, HCT-116, CT26 and P31) and non-malignant (HaCaT, HUVEC, BEC, and MCF10A) cell lines, finding that the complex with only one acetate trans to a chlorido group is more active and selective than the complex with two acetates (X = X’). Furthermore, the two complexes differ from cisplatin in their cellular uptake route as well as mode of action by inducing cancer cell death via non-DNA-associated mechanismsThis research was funded by CTQ2015-68779-R and PID2019-106220RB-I00, granted by Agencia Estatal de Investigación from the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación and Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad. Tuning the liquid crystal behavior of subphthalocyanines: Effects of substitution, chirality, and hydrogen bonding
Bowl-shaped aromatics that self-assemble into columnar liquid crystals (LCs) are key components for developing polarized semiconductors. However, progress in this field has been sluggish, as the limited set of available π-conjugated curved scaffolds has left structure-property relationships poorly understood. Herein the role that substitution pattern, substituent nature, and chirality play in the LC columnar organization of subphthalocyanines (SubPcs) is explored. Remarkably, it is revealed that enantiopure SubPcs exhibit a reduced tendency to form LC phases compared to their racemic counterparts, whereas higher substitution density increases flexibility within the columns, compromising coaxial alignment. Moreover, we find that the use of conformationally flexible, π-extended peripheral substituents enables efficient π-π stacking, and that the incorporation of hydrogen-bonding amide groups leads to highly stable mesophases with elevated melting points, although the mesophase remains at room temperature after thermal treatment. These trends are further rationalized through theoretical modeling. Overall, this work provides valuable synthetic and design guidelines for advancing bowl-shaped aromatics toward next-generation functional columnar liquid crystalsFinancial support from the Spanish MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR (TED2021-131255B-C43), MCIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/ FEDER, UE (PID) (PID2023-151167NB-I00, PID2021-122882NBI00, PID2021-126132NB-I00 and PID2023-150255NB-I00), the Comunidad de Madrid and the Spanish State through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan [‘‘Materiales Disruptivos Bidimensionales (2D)’’ (MAD2D-CM) (UAM1)-MRR Materiales Avanzados], the Gobierno de Aragón- FSE (E47_23Rresearch group), the Basque Government project IT1458-22, and the European Union through the Next Generation EUFunds is fully acknowledged. The landscape of metropolitan suburbanization: the singlefamily home as a symbol of the Madrid urban area
promociones y tratamientos formales muy diversosThis research proposes the clarification of Madrid’s residential landscapes in the first metropolitan
area, where the single-family dwelling, through a wide typological variety, acquires special
prominence. This objective is approached through a diachronic methodology, with two chronological
references: 1975 and 2024, which allow us to understand the complexity of the suburbanization phenomenon
in the last fifty years. In order to identify and quantify the single-family dwellings in both
moments, the population and housing censuses of 1991 and 2021 and the cadastral databases elaborated
by the General Directorate of Cadastre have been used. The panorama is completed with the
elaboration of a typology of this residential model, used in various urban developments with very
different formal treatment

Exploring Services and Support for Credit-Mobile International Students
An increasing number of students are participating in international credit mobility and other short-term programs, and as a result, there is a growing demand for services to enhance their mobility experience. Yet with some exceptions (e.g., Almeida (2020)), there is a lack of literature exploring the services and support infrastructure demanded by credit-mobile students. Consequently, this research fills a critical gap by presenting the results of the first institutional survey as part of a European project, “Erasmus Careers”, examining inbound and outbound mobility services and support that institutions provide at the different stages of the international student lifecycle for credit-mobile students in a European context. The survey reached out to 80 institutions across Europe, yielding a robust response rate of 70%. The survey encompassed 25 questions, categorised into four sections: institutional particulars, services and support mechanisms, academic facilities, and teaching methodologies. Results show the broad spectrum of services and support that institutions extend to international credit-mobile students. Predominantly, the services offered relate to accommodation, language courses, and cultural engagement activities. Moreover, the survey indicates that institutions provide support at various stages of the experience of these international students, including pre-departure, arrival, and during their stay. Additionally, the survey reveals that both local and international students generally enjoy equal access and opportunities in most institutions when accessing university facilities or support services. However, the survey also highlights areas where institutions can enhance their services and support for credit-mobile students. Notably, there is room for improvement in providing support during the students’ stay, including academic support, as well as mental and physical health services. These research findings can serve as a guide for institutions seeking to improve their support structures for credit-mobile students and as a basis for policymakers to formulate policies that bolster student mobility across Europ
