Black, Young, and Endangered
Black men and boys deserve equivalent theoretical and political race and gender liberation frameworks from daily physical and emotional violence as that of women. Feminist theory should more critically consider black men and their struggles. The cases of Emmett Till and George Stinney, Jr. exemplify how Black boys\u27 bodies have been a target of violence in the U.S. This endangerment of black boys continues, exemplified by the shooting of Tamir Rice, wrongful punishment of the Groveland Four, and forced confessions of the Central Park Five

Effects of an Athletic Scholarship on Student-Athlete Behavior
Intercollegiate athletics has become a multi-million dollar industry in the past 30 years. Athletic scholarships have become more lucrative for prospective student-athletes to obtain. Analysis of previous research at the NCAA scholarship level of Division I and Division II shows that athletic scholarships have strong affects on student-athlete behavior. Overall, behavior influences academic performance, motivation, and financial implications for the school and the student-athlete. Non-guaranteed scholarships and non-scholarship positions have caused major changes in behavior both positively and negatively for student-athletes in college. The purpose of this synthesis is to review the literature on the effects of an athletic scholarship on athlete\u27s behavior
Concussion Prevention and Technology
As more information emerges involving the long-term effects of concussions on athletes, so does the push to protect them, and in turn, continue to encourage participation. Concussions are extremely prevalent in the sport of football in particular, despite athletes wearing protective equipment such as helmets. Analysis of previous research shows that technological advancements in video analysis as well as impact tracking systems can positively influence player safety. When combining this with continued advancement in equipment development, testing, and proper usage, especially in the sport of football, athletes will be better protected. The purpose of this synthesis is to review the literature on the effects of technology on reducing the risk of concussions in sports. A second purpose of this synthesis is to review the importance of football equipment and its effects on concussion prevention

The Effects of Collegiate Coaching on Female Coaches
As the female population within athletics grows, the importance of having female coaches within athletic departments has come into focus. Analysis of previous research at the intercollegiate level shows that although there are women are coaching sports, they often face many barriers such as discrimination, family obligation, lack of support and stereotyping. Athletic departments are being held responsible for this allowance of barriers to effect female coaches and their decision to coach. Significant gender differences have emerged regarding the treatment of female coaches as well as availability of opportunities to pursue careers within coaching. The Issues Surrounding Sport Specialization in Youth Sports
The number of children participating in organized sports is at an all-time high and continuing to rise. With these numbers increasing so are the number of athletes participating in a single-sport and high intensity training. Research shows that athletes, coaches, and parents have many misconceptions about sport specialization. Results indicated that youth athletes are specializing in hopes to compete at the next level. Athletes that fell into a highly specialized category were more likely to obtain injuries, overuse injuries, burnout, and overall experience sport differently than those that were categorized as low specializing athletes
