Interjecting Financial Literacy About Credit Cards into the Mathematics Curriculum
This curriculum project is designed to interject a focus on financial literacy into an Algebra II class. It will focus specifically on the financial literacy of credit cards. The curriculum involves three lessons about the basics of credit cards and concludes with a project-based learning activity. This curriculum provides specific lessons that can be used to to encorporate financial literacy, as well as real-world scenarios, into algebra I or above mathematics courses
Thematic Thinking and Multimodal Texts in ELA Classrooms: Structuring Curriculum Around Theme to Encourage Student Choice and Voice
This article outlines the benefits of structuring curriculum around thematic questions. Themes are created from universally recognized lessons of humanity. Offering students the chance to interact with content in a way that relates to their identity allows them to connect with their content in a more authentic way. This, in turn, creates space in the classroom for students to introduce their own texts and writing styles as a means enhancing their learning experience

Rosie Rich, interviewed by Layla Taha
Rosie Rich was raised in Endicott, New York and grew up in a large Italian family that was involved in various sports. She attended SUNY Cortland, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and Health. She then attended the University of Buffalo, where she earned a Master of Education with a concentration of counseling and international education. Her reasoning behind her masters degree was that it led to different arenas after graduation. Rich was a physical education instructor at Troy high school and SUNY Brockport for several years. She later went on to start a program of health and physical education for women in Beirut, Lebanon. During her years in Lebanon, Rich encountered challenging experiences and took on different career roles. After her experience in Lebanon, Rich published a book about her adventures and career
