OPTIMIZING THE ROLE OF SCHOOL LIBRARIES IN IMPROVING STUDENTS' READING INTEREST IN THE DIGITAL ERA (CASE STUDY OF SMPN 15 MATARAM)
In today's information era, digital transformation of school libraries is a major strategy in increasing students' interest in reading. This study analyzes the implementation of an automation system based on SLiMS (Senayan Library Management System) and a physical literacy program in optimizing the role of the library at SMPN 15 Mataram. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with a case study method, and data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model which includes reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that by April 2025, 1,000 out of 2,000 book collections have been successfully inputted into SLiMS, which contributes to increasing the efficiency of collection management and readiness of digital services. The reading garden and reading corner programs in the classroom increase student interaction with informal reading materials by 40%. The novelty of this study lies in the simultaneous integration of digital transformation and physical space-based literacy, which produces a contextual digital literacy ecosystem model. The practical contribution of this study is in the form of recommendations for tiered implementation strategies that combine digitalization and participatory literacy to create adaptive and sustainable school libraries
PSYCHOLOGICAL EMPOWERMENT AND WORK ENGAGEMENT AMONG EDUCATORS: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF PERCEIVED ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT IN PROMOTING INFORMATION LITERACY CULTURE
In the context of law enforcement education, sustaining the engagement of educators is essential for institutional transformation and the cultivation of information literacy culture. This study investigates the influence of psychological empowerment on work engagement among educators (GADIK) at Sekolah Polisi Negara (SPN) Hinai, with perceived organizational support (POS) as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative method, data were collected from 177 educators through total sampling and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings reveal that psychological empowerment significantly influences POS (β = 0.337) and work engagement (β = 0.256). Additionally, POS demonstrates a significant mediating effect in the relationship between psychological empowerment and work engagement, as confirmed by the Sobel test (Z = 2.148; p < 0.05). The dimensions of “meaning” and “competence” emerged as the strongest contributors to empowerment, while “organizational rewards” and “working conditions” were the most influential indicators of POS. These results affirm that a supportive organizational climate amplifies the effect of empowerment on engagement and highlight the importance of aligning individual psychological resources with systemic support mechanisms. Theoretically, the findings are grounded in Social Exchange Theory, and practically, they underscore the need for integrated leadership strategies that foster both autonomy and recognition. This study contributes to the development of a holistic framework for enhancing educator engagement within police education settings, ultimately strengthening the institution’s capacity to produce ethically grounded and information-literate law enforcement officers

Historicity of Hadith Studies: Paradigm of Understanding, Transmission, and Contemporary Hadith Studies
This study aims to examine the historicity of hadith studies by mapping the development of paradigms of hadith understanding, analysing patterns of hadith transmission, and examining the dynamics of contemporary hadith studies. The primary objective of this research is to contextualise classical and modern understandings of hadith within contemporary discourse, particularly regarding how hadith continues to function as a source of Islamic jurisprudence in the face of modern epistemological and socio-cultural challenges. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach with a historical-analytical method, analysing primary and secondary sources related to the development of hadith knowledge and Muslim scholars' responses to Orientalist criticism. It also integrates interdisciplinary perspectives from philosophy, sociology, and epistemology to enrich the analytical framework. The results show that the understanding of hadith has undergone a significant shift, from oral transmission and textual literalism in the classical era to a contextual-rationalist and intertextual approach in the modern and contemporary periods. Hadith transmission, despite facing political, social, and Orientalist criticism, has demonstrated resilience through academic rigour in the analysis of sanad and matan. Additionally, contemporary Muslim scholars are increasingly adopting interdisciplinary methods to reinterpret hadith in light of modern realities. This underscores the importance of critically engaging with classical traditions and modern approaches to maintain the relevance and authority of hadith in contemporary Islamic studies

Although it has the potential to increase student motivation and understanding, its effectiveness is not optimal. An in-depth analysis is needed to identify the forms of use, advantages, disadvantages, and impacts, as well as provide more effective development recommendations. The method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman techniques, including reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. Triangulation is carried out to ensure the validity of the data. The results of this study are the use of audio-visual media in Arabic language learning in class X MAN 1 Medan including videos, presentation slides, and audio recordings. This media improves students' motivation, vocabulary comprehension, pronunciation, and sentence structure. However, the limitations of technology and the variation in students' focus are obstacles. As a Conclusion, audio-visual media is effective in improving the quality of Arabic language learning, although challenges such as device limitations and direct interaction still exist. It is recommended that teachers be more innovative, supported by adequate technological facilities, and the use of this media is balanced with other methods for optimal results
CURRICULUM AS A MIRROR OF IDEOLOGICAL AFFILIATION: Rethinking Pesantren Typologies in the Landscape of Indonesian Islamic Organizations
Abstract: The traditional classification of pesantren into salaf, khalaf, or mixed categories no longer captures the rich diversity of contemporary Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. This study proposes a revised typological framework that considers the ideological and organizational affiliations of pesantren—such as NU) Muhammadiyah, Persis, Shia, and LDII. Employing qualitative library research, the analysis draws from institutional records, curriculum documents, and scholarly literature. Findings reveal that each affiliation manifests distinct educational visions: NU emphasizes tafaqquh fi al-din through classical texts; Muhammadiyah blends national education with reformist Islam; Persis promotes rationalism and anti-madhhab discourse; Shia pesantren foreground philosophy and logic; and LDII implements a closed, tiered system. The study argues for redefining pesantren typology through ideological and pedagogical lenses, offering a more accurate framework for scholars, educators, and policymakers engaging with Indonesia’s pluralistic Islamic education landscape. Keywords: Curriculum, Pesantren Typology, Islamic Education, Indonesian Islamic Organizations, Religious Affiliation.
ANALYSIS OF PRICE MANIPULATION IN THE SPICE TRADE IN BARUS DISTRICT WAHBAH AZ-ZUHAILI'S PERSPECTIVE
This study analyzes the practice of price manipulation in the spice trade at Barus Market, one of Indonesia’s oldest spice ports, through the lens of Islamic economic principles according to Wahbah Az-Zuhaili. The manipulation includes price manipulation and artificial stock withholding, driven by information asymmetry between sellers and less-informed buyers, particularly from outside the region. Employing a descriptive qualitative and empirical juridical approach, data were collected through interviews, direct observation, and literature review. Findings reveal that such practices violate fundamental Islamic trade ethics, including shidq (honesty), ‘adl (justice), and prohibitions against tadlis (fraud) and gharar (uncertainty). Az-Zuhaili advocates for state intervention through price regulation (tas’îr) in cases of market distortion caused by merchant misconduct. The study highlights the need for sharia-based market reform, consumer protection via khiyar ghabn, and ethical education for traders to realize a fair, transparent, and Islamic economy
LEGAL PROTECTION FOR TOURIST SECURITY AND SAFETY AT THE INTERNATIONAL SURFING COMPETITION EVENT FROM THE MAQASHID SYARIAH PERSPECTIVE (CASE STUDY OF AFULU VILLAGE, AFULU DISTRICT, NORTH NIAS REGENCY)
The tourism industry is a prospective commodity that is considered to have an important role in national development, but tourist attractions can also pose a risk of danger to tourists, therefore to support safety and security at tourist destinations, Law Number 10 of 2009 concerning tourism and Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection have been enacted in order to guarantee and provide security and safety for tourists. This study aims to determine the form of security facilities available at the international surfing event held in Afulu District, North Nias, and what form of protection concept is based on the Maqashid Syariah perspective. The type of research is empirical legal research with a living case studies approach, statute approach and conceptual approach. The results of this study indicate that the facilities at the international surfing event held in North Nias have not met the safety and security aspects such as the lack of a monitoring tower, a place to store goods, a route to tourist attractions, the provision of clinics or First Aid for Accidents (P3K) permanently. So, based on the perspective of Maqashid Syariah, especially from the concept of hifz al-nafs (protecting the soul) and hifz al-mal (protecting property), the organizers of the International Surfing Event should coordinate with the beach tourism managers and must provide security and safety facilities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
The Construction of Stunting Issues in Social Media: Analysis of Public Issues in Digital Health Campaigns in Indonesia
In the digital era, social media has evolved into a dominant public space that shapes discourse, mobilizes participation, and influences public perception—especially in health communication. This study examines how the issue of stunting is socially constructed in Indonesia’s digital space and how public health campaigns on social media influence public perception and engagement. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), complemented by Entman’s framing theory and light quantitative trend analysis, this research analyzes the narratives, symbols, and interactions surrounding stunting-related digital campaigns such as #CegahStunting and #BapakAsuhAnakStunting The findings reveal that stunting is framed as a collective moral issue tied to the nation's future, with families—especially parents—portrayed as central actors in its prevention. Social media content constructs this issue through persuasive language, hashtags, visual storytelling, and the strategic use of influential public figures and institutions. Framing elements such as problem identification, causal attribution, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendations are found to be consistently applied in constructing public meaning and shaping behavior. Public engagement manifests through digital activism, content sharing, and the emergence of grassroots health communities. However, the study also identifies counter-narratives criticizing the moralistic framing that disproportionately blames families while overlooking structural inequalities This research contributes to the discourse on health communication and public engagement by highlighting the dual function of social media as both a platform for education and a contested space for narrative negotiation. It offers practical implications for more inclusive, participatory, and context-sensitive digital health campaigns in Indonesia’s multisectoral stunting reduction strategy
