Factors Influencing Contraceptive Usage Among Women Childbearing Age in Indonesia (Analysis of The 2023 Indonesian Health Survey)
The global trend of Total Fertility Rate (TFR) has significantly decreased, particularly in developed and some developing countries. Controlling the population growth rate could be achieved by suppressing fertility through the use of contraceptives. This study utilized secondary data from SKI 2023 with a cross-sectional design. Sampling was conducted using multistage random sampling, resulting in a total sample of 53,783 respondents. The sample consisted of Women of Reproductive Age, aged 15–49 years in Indonesia, who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses using complex sample procedures. The results showed that the prevalence of contraceptive use among women of reproductive age was 72.4%. The multivariate analysis revealed several factors significantly associated with contraceptive use, including age at first pregnancy (p = 0.001; PR = 1.365; 95% CI: 1.259–1.480), occupation (p = 0.001; PR = 1.289; 95% CI: 1.210–1.372), economic status (p = 0.008; PR = 1.098; 95% CI: 1.025–1.177), place of residence (p = 0.001; PR = 1.198; 95% CI: 1.120–1.281), unwanted pregnancy (p = 0.002; PR = 1.231; 95% CI: 1.081–1.401), and parity (p = 0.001; PR = 1.121; 95% CI: 1.050–1.196). The most dominant factor associated with contraceptive use was education level (p = 0.001; PR = 1.489; 95% CI: 1.388–1.596). Women of reproductive age could improve their knowledge about contraceptive use not only through formal education but also by utilizing technology, such as educational videos, webinars, and informative content on social media platforms, to better understand and select appropriate contraceptives based on their health needs and conditions. The Barriers of Medical Tourism Hospital Development in Medan
Medan residents are known to prefer traveling to Malaysia and Singapore for medical treatment. This phenomenon leads to huge losses in regional and national revenues. In response to this phenomenon, by 2021, the Medan City government has implemented the Medan medical tourism program, with the participation of twelve hospitals located in Medan to be prepared as medical tourism destinations, but until 2024, none of the Medan or North Sumatra residents have made use of this program. The objective of this study is to explore the barriers on the development of medical tourism hospitals in Medan. Using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, this research was conducted through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation from eight hospitals within the Medan medical tourism program. This study identified several key barriers: healthcare system issues, poor medical infrastructure, limited continuity of care, inadequate hospital promotion of Medan medical tourism program, lack of international accreditation, lack of ISO certification, unavailability of medical equipment, failure to meet national indicators of hospital quality, and unfriendliness of doctors and staff. The findings indicate that hospitals in Medan need significant improvements in various aspects to become competitive in the medical tourism market. Furthermore, to overcome these barriers, coordinated and sustained efforts from the hospitals, Medan City government, Medan medical tourism board and Medan tourism department are needed to transform hospitals into medical tourism destinations despite the gradual and lengthy process. The Tradition of Cokbakal and Mbok Sri in the Javanese Islamic Community in Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatera
This research aims to explore the unique traditions practiced by the Javanese community in Tebing Tinggi, focusing on their rituals, purposes, and meanings, as well as comparing this tradition with similar practices in other regions. The study specifically examines the Javanese tradition that retains Hindu influences while thriving within a predominantly Muslim society. It investigates whether the tradition has undergone changes over time or remained consistent, and whether it was brought by migrating Javanese communities or originated independently in Tebing Tinggi. The findings of this research indicate that the tradition indeed stems from Hindu influences, reflecting Indonesia's historical adherence to Hinduism before the arrival of Islam. Although Islam became the dominant religion, cultural habits did not disappear entirely. Many similar traditions exist, differing in nomenclature but sharing comparable meanings and purposes. This tradition is notably unique, and the author suggests that such cultural practices should continue to be introduced and preserved. The intricate steps involved in the ritual, each imbued with distinct meanings, highlight the profound appreciation and gratitude of past generations toward the creator

Abu Bakar's Attitude after the Death of the Prophet Muhammad Saw: Analysis of Social Conflict from Lewis Coser's Perspective
This study analyzes the role of Caliph Abu Bakr following the passing of the Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him and the response of the people of Madinah. Using Lewis Coser's social conflict approach, this research explores Abu Bakr’s actions and the social dynamics that emerged after the Prophet’s passing. Social conflict arose in the aftermath of the Prophet's death, creating tension and confusion among the people of Madinah. This qualitative descriptive study, employing Lewis Coser's social conflict approach, uses reading and note-taking techniques. Data analysis follows Miles and Huberman’s procedures, which include data reduction, presentation, and conclusion, to form a structured description. The analysis results indicate that in the context of Abu Bakr's appointment as the first Caliph after the Prophet’s passing, conflict functionalism theory provides insight into the social dynamics that took place. The conflict between the Ansar and Muhajirun played a crucial role in strengthening internal group solidarity, reinforcing group boundaries, and reducing tolerance for division. Although initial conflict arose, the deliberation and election of Abu Bakr ultimately served as a "safety valve" mechanism, preventing larger divisions within the Muslim community
The Character of Semar in Wayang: A Synthesis of Javanese Cultural Philosophy and Islamic Principles
The character of Semar in Javanese puppetry is a unique figure who bridges Javanese philosophy and Islamic teachings. This study explores the synthesis between the two traditions through an analysis of Semar's characteristics and teachings. This study aims to (1) analyze how the character of Semar represents the synthesis between Javanese cultural philosophy and Islamic principles, (2) examine its implications for understanding cultural acculturation and (3) its relevance in the context of contemporary Indonesia. This study applied the library research method. Data sources included literature on puppetry, Javanese philosophy, and Islamic teachings. The analysis was conducted by using a hermeneutic, comparative, and semiotic approach. The study result reveal that (1) a significant correlation between the characteristics and teachings of Semar and the basic principles of Islam. Concepts such as "manunggaling kawula gusti" and "memayu hayuning bawana" are in harmony with the teachings of tauhid and khalifah fil ardh in Islam. Simplicity, honesty, and social criticism that characterize Semar are also in line with Islamic values. The synthesis reflected in the character of Semar shows the flexibility of Islam in adapting to local culture without losing the essence of its teachings. (2) This has important implications for understanding Javanese-Islamic cultural acculturation and offers an inclusive and tolerant model of religiosity in the context of contemporary Indonesia. (3) This study also reveals the relevance of this synthesis in facing the challenges of modernity and globalization, as well as its potential in building a national identity that is rooted in local wisdom but open to universal values
CHILD PROTECTION IN THE FAMILY ENVIRONMENT BASED ON SHARI'AH VALUES
ABSTRACT:Marriage constitutes a legally recognized institution for establishing a family and procreating, aligned with human nature. Every marriage inherently embodies significant expectations, notably the birth of children to perpetuate the family lineage. Having offspring is a universal aspiration for married couples. The presence of children fosters a harmonious marital relationship, as spouses collaboratively provide love, support and care. Children's arrival strengthens the bond between spouses, fostering shared responsibility for nurturing, upbringing and mutual affection. A child undergoes developmental stages from infancy to adulthood, ultimately becoming self-sufficient. Parents bear responsibility for providing necessities, education and guidance. Beyond basic care, instilling Islamic values (Syari'ah) is crucial, enabling children to embody these principles, ensuring their well-being and protection throughout adulthood. Keywords: Child; Protection; Syari'ah.
