    KEADILAN DALAM PENDEKATAN MAQASHID AL-SYARI'AH

This article describes the concept of justice from the perspective of Islamic legal philosophy. There are two main formulations of justice in this context: The first view considers justice as a harmony between rights and obligations, which is based on the postulate of "legal balance" or "measure of rights and obligations". In this view, every individual has rights and obligations that are both balanced and mutually supportive. The second view states that justice is a harmony between legal certainty and legal comparability. In this case, justice is achieved when the law is enforced with certainty and fairness, so that there is no discrimination or inequality in its application

ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA RIFFATERRE TERHADAP LAGU ATUNA TUFULI KARYA REMI BANDALI

Songs are a form of oral literature capable of conveying messages through language and music. This study analyzes the meaning of the lyrics in Atuna Tufuli, popularized by Shirine, using Michael Riffaterre’s semiotic theory of poetry. The research aims to uncover meaning through four key elements: displacing, distorting, and creating meaning; heuristic and hermeneutic reading; matrix; and model and hypogram. This descriptive-qualitative research employs a library study approach. The findings show that the lyrics convey complex expressions of love and longing through indirect expression. Heuristic and hermeneutic readings reveal restrained emotional expressions. The matrix emphasizes the desire of children in conflict areas to live in peace and freedom. The model and hypogram indicate intertextual connections with universal themes of longing for a normal childhood and peace—elements also found in classical Arabic poetry. These recurring themes evoke empathy and reflect a broader call for attention to children affected by war and violence

Stunting is a growth failure condition caused by chronic malnutrition during the first 1,000 days of life, which not only affects a child’s height but also has serious consequences on cognitive development, including speech delays. In Indonesia, including Kendari City, this issue remains a significant challenge despite a decline in its prevalence to 24.4% in 2021. This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, conducted from May to July 2024 in Kendari, involving 105 parents of toddlers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) version 3.  Method identified that the main causes of stunting include lack of maternal nutritional intake during pregnancy, suboptimal breastfeeding, and inadequate sanitation conditions. Stunting status was found to be closely related to speech delays, which were exacerbated by a lack of verbal stimulation in the family and the presence of hearing loss that was not immediately recognized. Although most parents understand the importance of nutrition and nurturing, the application in daily life is still not optimal. The conclusion of this study shows that stunting has a contribution to speech delay in children, so comprehensive intervention efforts are needed at the community level, including improving nutrition education, access to health services, improving sanitation, and creating an environment that supports the stimulation of child development through cooperation between the government, health workers, and the community

EARLY CHARACTER OF ISLAM IN MEDAN: Challenging the Narrative of Religious Intolerance in an Indonesian City

Abstract: This study explores the early development of Islam in Medan, challenging claims that the city fosters religious intolerance. Historically, Islam was introduced through peaceful, Sufistic, and adaptive means that encouraged coexistence and cultural integration. Using a qualitative, sociological approach supported by interviews with religious and community leaders and relevant literature, the research highlights Islam’s foundational values in Medan—moderation, tolerance, and inclusivity. Although contemporary religious tensions occasionally arise, often driven by political interests, they do not represent the city’s Islamic roots. The findings affirm that Medan’s interfaith relations remain largely harmonious, and portrayals of the city as intolerant misrepresent its long-standing tradition of pluralism and social harmony. Keywords: Early Islam, Religious Tolerance, Sufism, Religious Pluralism,Indonesian Isla

This study examines the implementation of civic culture in improving students' environmental awareness at SMPN 1 Bayan, North Lombok, as a response to the low awareness of cleanliness and discipline in waste management. Descriptive qualitative method was used involving 6 students, 2 teachers, and 1 principal as subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results showed that the integration of civic culture (knowledge, skills, and attitudes of citizenship) through the "Clean Saturday" program, environment-based Civics learning, and teacher exemplification succeeded in increasing student participation: 90% consistently throw garbage in its place, 85% are active in cleaning activities, and the emergence of initiatives to care for plants. However, 15-20% of students still lack discipline without supervision. Supporting factors include school facilities (15 segregated bins, 3 parks), parental support, and a culture of gotong royong, while the main obstacle is the lack of intrinsic awareness of some students. The research conclusion confirms that civic culture is effective in shaping the character of environmental care through a holistic approach, with recommendations for strengthening the habituation program and community collaboration
