’Eḇen boḥan ( 1322) by Kalonymos ben Kalonymos, which was written in the maqama tradition, constitutes a turning point in the development of narrative forms since the Middle Ages. Rather than being a sub-text enclosed within its own signifying practice, ’Eḇen boḥan incorporates the discursif shifts that took place with the coming of age of neo-classical discourse. The subject of enunciation seems to be no more a mediator within the divine plan but rather the owner of bis own speech.

In this article many of the discrepancies existing among the masoróṯ about the ’ôṯiyyôṯ gĕḏôlôṯ -edited by Ben Ḥayyîm in the Second Rabbinic Bible, by S. Frensdorff in the Ochlah W'Ochlah, and by C. D. Ginsburg in his masoretic compilation- are shown; these discrepancies are also analysed with the help of the most important masoretic commentaries: the ’Ôr Tôrâ by M. de Lonzano and the Minḥaṯ Šay by Y. S. de Norzi. Although the lack of norm concerning this subject prevents the author from coming to a definite conclusion, some possible explanations are suggested.

The building of the synagogue of Miranda de Ebro has been situated in many different places of the town. Nowadays, thanks to the publication of new documents, we can locate its site quite accurately. It was found in the Jews street which has kept the same name until now. Il testo consonantico della tradizione babilonese. Ms. Opp.Add. 4 154 della Biblioteca Bodleiana

This paper is part of a project on manuscripts carried on under the auspices of Prof. Paolo Sacchi. It deals with Ms. Opp.Add. 4 154 of the Bodleian Library, of Yemenite provenance. The comparison of its readings with the variants collected by Kennicott and De Rossi and the old translations confirms the results described in the first part of this project: the Babylonian text (BT) is old and similar to the Tiberian one and their common basis is the old Hebrew Bible. The agreements of the BT with Aquila, Theodotion, Symmachus, Origen, and Hieronymus show that this text was current in Palestine at least until the 4th century AD. When the Tiberian text supplanted the Babylonian in the 10th century, the BT still survived in Yemenite communities. Many variants of the BT are attested in Ashkenazi MSS, and consequently in the Soncino Bible.
