Kernel-Truncated Spline: Estimator Fleksibel untuk Regresi Nonparametrik
This study aims to develop a multivariable nonparametric regression model using a hybrid approach that combines Spline and kernel estimators. This method is proposed to address the limitations of conventional nonparametric models that typically apply a single type of estimator across all predictor variables, regardless of their individual patterns. In this approach, predictors with oscillatory patterns are modeled using truncated Spline regression, while variables exhibiting complex nonlinear behavior are modeled using a Gaussian kernel estimator. The combined model is constructed and estimated using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and applied to data on the average years of schooling in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Results indicate that the model using two Spline knots and an optimal bandwidth for the kernel component yields the lowest Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) value of 0.142, outperforming models with one or three knots. The best-fitting model achieves a coefficient of determination (R²) of 91.214% and a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.0461. These findings suggest that the hybrid regression approach offers greater flexibility and accuracy in modeling multivariable social data
Implementasi Metode Bayesian untuk Menghitung Premi Produk Asuransi Kendaran Bermotor dengan Pendekatan Monte Carlo Markov Chain
Accurate premium determination is a fundamental aspect of risk management in motor vehicle insurance. This study implements the Bayesian method using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) approach to calculate the net premium. The aggregate claim model is constructed from a claim frequency distribution (Poisson) and a claim severity distribution (Generalized Extreme Value (GEV)), with the GEV distribution specifically chosen to model extreme claim risk. The analysis utilizes generated data for the period 2018–2024, with parameters derived from the historical data of PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia Purwokerto (2013–2017). Parameter estimation, performed via OpenBUGS software, was validated to have achieved good convergence (MC-error ). Based on the estimated parameters, a premium of IDR 397.502.000 was obtained, calculated using the net premium principle from the expected value of aggregate claims. These results demonstrate that the Bayesian MCMC approach is effective for producing a robust premium estimation, contributing a pricing framework that explicitly accounts for extreme value claims
Pemodelan Bahaya Gempa Bumi Deterministik Berbasis Mikrotremor Berdasarkan Skenario Sesar Opak dan Dengkeng: Studi Kasus Kecamatan Depok, Sleman-Yogyakarta
The Subdistrict of Depok, with the largest population in Sleman Regency, is a region that drives economic, social, and cultural development. This growth further increases the risk of earthquakes, given the presence of the active Opak and Dengkeng Faults. Therefore, an earthquake hazard analysis using the worst-case scenario from the Opak and Dengkeng Faults is necessary for disaster mitigation efforts. This study aims to model deterministic earthquake hazards based on microtremor data using the worst-case scenario from the Opak and Dengkeng Faults. A geophysical approach is employed in this research by applying the Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method based on microtremor measurements. The HVSR method characterizes local site effects that influence ground shaking during an earthquake. The earthquake hazard analysis at the ground surface is conducted using the Deterministic Seismic Hazard Analysis (DSHA) method, considering local site effects based on microtremor measurement data. The DSHA results indicate high Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) values, primarily due to the influence of the Opak and Dengkeng Faults, which suggest a significant risk of damage. The findings of this study can serve as input for spatial planning and disaster risk reduction management, particularly in Depok District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta
Numerical Solution of Fractional Order Differential Equations by Chebyshev Least Squares Approximation Method
In this paper, fractional differential equations (FDEs) are solved numerically using the least squares method (LSM). Shifted Chebyshev polynomials are used as the basis functions, and the results are compared with the exact solutions. Several numerical examples are presented to illustrate the theoretical results and are also compared with the outcomes obtained from other numerical methods. It is found that the results of the proposed approximate method converge rapidly to the exact solutions
Establishing Legal Certainty in the Digital Era: Challenges and Solutions
This article aims to examine the challenges and formulate solutions in building legal certainty in the digital era in Indonesia. This writing uses a normative legal method with a legislative, conceptual, and comparative case study approach. The analysis shows that the rapid development of digital technology has revealed various legal challenges, such as inconsistencies in regulations before the enactment of the Personal Data Protection Law, the lag of legislation compared to technological innovation, fragmentation of authority between institutions, the dilemma between encouraging innovation and protecting individual rights, and the complexity of jurisdiction in international cyber law. To answer these challenges, comprehensive legal reform is needed, the establishment of an independent institution for personal data protection, regulatory harmonization, and strengthening international cooperation. Furthermore, the concept of Agile Lawmaking, the implementation of Legal Tech and Smart Contracts, and digital legal education reform are the keys to building an adaptive and responsive legal system, as demonstrated by best practices from Estonia and Singapore. As a recommendation, it is necessary to immediately update regulations based on real-time data, develop a national digital legal ecosystem, increase the capacity of legal officers, and actively involve the community in formulating policies to ensure legal certainty while encouraging sustainable digital economic growth
Catcalling as a Human Rights Violation: An Examination of Law and Regulation in Public Spaces
This research aims to analyze the legal aspects and social implications of catcalling as a form of human rights violation, as well as identify shortcomings in existing regulations to protect victims from verbal harassment in public spaces. The method used is a qualitative approach through the analysis of legal documents, literature review, and case studies of catcalling incidents in several major cities, which allows researchers to explore in-depth the public perception, cultural norms, and the application of laws related to sexual harassment. The research examines laws and regulations governing harassment and discrimination, comparing Indonesia's legal protection mechanisms with practices in other countries, to highlight weaknesses and opportunities for improvement in the national legal system. The results show that catcalling is a manifestation of human rights violations that undermine dignity, safety and gender equality, as the practice not only inflicts psychological trauma on victims, but also creates an atmosphere of insecurity in public spaces. The findings also indicate that while there is a legal framework on sexual harassment, its implementation and enforcement remain weak, influenced by social norms and gender stereotypes that consider such behavior as normal. Therefore, this study recommends reviewing existing regulations, raising public awareness through education, and implementing stricter legal sanctions, as strategic steps to address catcalling and realize an inclusive and safe social environment for all citizen
Pemetaan Potensi Pariwisata Berbasis Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG): Desa Dunu, Kecamatan Monano, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memetakan sebaran potensi pariwisata di Desa Dunu, Kecamatan Monano, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara, sebagai dasar pengembangan pariwisata desa yang berkelanjutan. Desa Dunu memiliki karakteristik bentang alam pesisir yang didominasi perbukitan, pantai, pulau-pulau kecil, serta kawasan konservasi yang berpotensi menjadi daya tarik wisata. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode observasi lapangan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data utama. Data spasial dan nonspasial yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dan divisualisasikan menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) untuk menghasilkan peta sebaran potensi wisata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Desa Dunu memiliki enam potensi objek wisata yang terbagi ke dalam tiga jenis utama, yaitu wisata olahraga, wisata bahari, dan wisata cagar alam/konservasi. Sebaran objek wisata tersebut mengikuti karakteristik bentang alam wilayah desa, meliputi kawasan perbukitan, pesisir, dan perairan sekitarnya. Pemetaan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar perencanaan pengembangan pariwisata desa yang terarah, terintegrasi, dan mendukung prinsip kemiskinan
Peningkatan Kemampuan dan Kepercayaan Diri Remaja Melalui Pelatihan Public Speaking kepada Pengurus PIK Remaja Maju Desa Katialada
Public speaking is a crucial skill for youth, especially in delivering educational messages effectively to the community. This training aimed to enhance public speaking skills among 10 members of PIK Remaja Maju Desa Katialada. Using a combination of theoretical and individual practice approaches, the training focused on teaching participants the principles of public speaking, such as the use of intonation, gestures, and communication flow. The results showed significant improvements in the participants' skills and confidence. Additionally, the training opened new opportunities for youth to contribute more actively to community education activities. However, some participants still faced challenges with nervousness, highlighting the need for follow-up training to address these issue
Sosialisasi dan Simulasi Aplikasi Panic Button untuk Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Pelita Hijau
Masalah yang dihadapi masyarakat Kecamatan Bonepantai dalam menghadapi bencana alam adalah (1) tidak memiliki pengetahuan tentang bagaimana cara memberi informasi kepada Pemerintah Daerah terkait bencana yang dihadapi; (2) kurangnya fasilitas yang disediakan oleh Pemerintah Daerah untuk masyarakat terkait pemberian informasi saat masyarakat menghadapi bencana; (3) sulitnya Organisasi Perangkat Daerah dalam menangani dan mendapatkan informasi terkini dari masyarakat yang mengalami bencana.Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah: pelatihan penggunaan plikasi untuk mengirimkan notifikasi darurat bencana secara cepat kepada Pemerintah desa, Pemerintah Kecamatan, Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) jika terjadi bencana atau keadaan gawat darurat dengan cepat, dilengkapi lokasi dan deskripsi kejadian.Mitra yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini adalah ibu-ibu PKK dan Dasawisma, Karang Taruna, Pemerintah Desa, Pemerintah Kecamatan, dan Pemerintah Daerah dalam hal ini Kantor BPBD dengan jumlah peserta seluruhnya adalah 30 orang.Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah (1) Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), dimana masyarakat yang merencanakan dan mengusulkan bagaimana model pelatihan yang harus dilakukan. Teknis penyampaian materi penggunaan aplikasi dilaksanakan dengan praktik, cermah, pendampingan, dan workshop; (2) untuk melaksanakan evaluasi terkait keberhasilan kegiatan maka metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Assessment and Planning (PAP) , dimana masyarakat dilibatkan dalam hal penilaian atas keberhasilan pelaksanaan pelatihanHasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukan terjadi peningkatan kesiapsiagaan warga, memperkuat koordinasi penanganan bencana, serta memperkenalkan teknologi yang aplikatif dan mudah diakses masyarakat dan Pemerintah
Pelatihan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis QR Code dan Website Profil Sekolah di SMP Negeri 1 Dungaliyo
Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital, khususnya dalam penggunaan QR Code sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif dan pengelolaan website sebagai sarana informasi resmi sekolah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Dungaliyo dan melibatkan para guru sebagai peserta utama. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari sosialisasi, demonstrasi teknis, dan pendampingan langsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru mampu membuat materi ajar berbasis QR Code serta memahami struktur dasar website sekolah.
