In-Silico Prediction of Phytoconstituents from Phyllanthus niruri for Anticancer Activity against Prostate Cancer Targeting PIM-1 Kinase
Objective: Lung cancer, commonly referred to as lung carcinoma, is a malignant tumour of the lung that is characterised by unchecked cell proliferation in lung tissues.Oncemore, medicinal plants are being researched for the treatment of lung cancer. Prototypical compounds found in medicinal plants have been the source of many conventional medications. In-silico testing of Phyllanthus niruri (L.) Lour. phytoconstituents for anticancer efficacy was a part of our investigation. Design: Utilizing Discovery studio, molecular docking is done to assess the pattern of interaction between the phytoconstituents from the Phyllanthus niruri plant and the crystal structure of the anticancer proteins (PDB ID: 3A99). Later, SwissADME and pkCSM were used to screen for toxicity as well as the pharmacokinetic profile. Results: The docked results suggest that luteolin (-8.3 kcal/mol), and caffeic acid (-6.6 kcal/mol), for 3A99 macromolecule has best binding affinity towards PIM-1 kinase for anticancer activity on lungs as compared to the standard drug lenvatinib mesylate (-3.5 kcal/mol). Furthermore, pharmacokinetics and toxicity parameters were within acceptable limits according to ADMET studies. Conclusion: Results from the binding potential of phytoconstituents aimed at anticancer activity were encouraging. It promotes the usage of Phyllanthus niruri and offers crucial details on pharmaceutical research and clinical care
A Review on pharmacological properties of Rubus fructicosus.
Medicinal plants are an excellent source of physiologically active phytochemicals with long-recognized medicinal properties. Rubus fruticosus also known as blackberry plant. The parts are employed for their therapeutic benefits. The purpose of this study was to review the pharmacological characteristics of R.fruticosus and its associated phytochemicals. Its extractions have a significant impact on the phytochemical and pharmacological activities. In this review, the most useful phytochemicals include flavonoids, anthocyanins, tannins and phenolic compounds, which are acquired from the plant\u27s components. The various pharmacological actions of plants are mostly caused by phytoconstituents produced in plant tissues. It has demonstrated antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiwrinkle, anxiolytic, SPF and other actions that may be helpful in the creation of future pharmaceutical products
A study on development and quality analysis of a beverage incorporated with Terminalia chebula
The study’s aim was to develop a beverage incorporated with Terminalia chebula Retz., locally known as Haritaki, having gastro-intestinal motility improving properties. The objectives of the study were to develop the beverage, check its acceptability by conducting sensory evaluation and chemically analyzing the beverage for quality assessment by testing its anti-oxidant properties and presence of gallic acid, i.e., a hydrolysable tannin present in Haritaki fruit which majorly possess the properties of improving gastro-intestinal motility. The beverage was made by two methods viz. overnight refrigeration and boiling method. Then sensory evaluation was conducted by 9-point hedonic scale and as a result of which sample made with overnight refrigeration method were found to be more acceptable. Then samples prepared with both the methods were subjected to antioxidant property test and High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to check the presence of gallic acid. The test results were in favor of the sample prepared by overnight refrigeration method having 14.49% more antioxidant property and 26.06mg/kg more gallic acid than that of the sample prepared with boiling method. The original taste of Haritaki is very bitter and strong. So, with the development of this beverage the flavor of Haritaki is enhanced and bitterness is reduced. Therefore, consumers can opt for this beverage over the original powdered form, hence increasing the acceptability of Haritaki. Also, no further preparation is required, people can consume it at an ease. The beverage developed will be a boon to the food industry in this era of unhealthy lifestyle.
Ethnobotanical and dietary uses of Bamboo unveiled by the tribes and local inhabitants of Chittoor district, West Godavari and East Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh
Aim and Objective: To unveil and document the folklore claims and dietary recipes of Bambusa bambos and Dendrocalamus strictus.
Materials and methods: The study was intended to examine the 101 tribal individuals like traditional healers, tribal doctors and elder people in the field trips on their regular utilization of different species of Bamboo.
Results: The study explored 13 contemporary folklore claims on B. bambos and D. strictus species solicited from various tribal pockets of Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh and dietary recipes from the tribes of West Godavari and East Godavari districts, Andhra Pradesh.
Conclusion: With this study, it can be concluded that various parts of Bambusa bambos and Dendrocalamus strictus are practiced as conventional drugs to treat different ailments by local tribes and conventional healers from Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. Besides this, the young shoots of Bambusa bambos are a fabulous dietary hotspot for several minerals. This recipe of Bamboo shoots has been in permanence among the tribes of West Godavari and East Godavari districts for the past several generations. Ayurveda has also validated this fact owing to its therapeutic properties. By all its nutritive potential, it can be determined that it is not only good to the taste receptors but also healthy
Evaluation of efficacy of locally delivered Herbal extract in treatment of Chronic periodontitis –A Randomised controlled trial
Background: Various locally delivered agent are used as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (SRP). 8- Hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) is best documented biomarker of oxidative stress in periodontitis. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of locally delivered Ocimum sanctum gel by assessing the levels of 8-OHdG in Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of smokers and nonsmokers with periodontitis. Material and Methods: The study included 50 patients divided into 3 groups, group I - periodontally healthy, group II- smokers with stage II periodontitis and group III- non-smokers with stage II periodontitis. Smokers and non-smokers with stage II periodontitis received the locally delivered 10% OS gel as an adjunct to SRP at the test site at baseline and after 1 week recall, while SRP alone at control site. Result: 8-OHdG GCF levels were analyzed with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) at baseline, and 6-months follow up. Probing pocket depth (PPD) in test site significantly reduced to 2.75 ±0.64, 2.50 ±0.68 at 6 month after periodontal therapy in group 2 and 3 respectively. Similarly, clinical attachment level (CAL) in test site significantly reduced to 3.15 ±0.81, 2.85 ±0.93 at 6 month after periodontal therapy in group 2 and 3 respectively. Conclusion: The application of 10% Ocimum sanctum L. gel showed significant improvement in PPD, CAL and PI and GI and reduction in GCF 8-OHdG levels
Significance of Tikta Skanda dravyas of Charaka Samhita in Asthivaha Sroto vikaras – A review
Ayurveda, which literally means the science of life, is the natural healing system of India. Its originality and holistic approach whose principles of therapeutics are applicable universally remain time tested even to this day. In the course of life span, plants make an immense impact as either food or medicine. Charaka Samhita, one among the Bruhatrayi, contains information about evidence as well as experienced based medicine with many single drug or poly-herbal formulations along with mineral and animal origin. While explaining Chikitsasutra for Asthivaha sroto vikaras, Charaka says that Tikta dravyas should be used for Basti along with ksheera and ghrita. So Tikta dravyas play an important role in the treatment of Asthivaha Srotovikaras. An attempt is made in this study to identify the dravyas of tikta skanda of Charaka Samhita and its significance in the treatment of Asthivaha sroto vikaras, for further herbal research on single or multiple drugs with different mode of administration to be carried out globally with a greater enthusiasm for finding out active natural drug molecules acting on Asthivaha srotas.
The Therapeutic Potential and efficacy determination of “Kushmanda Rasayanam” ayurvedic formulation by chromatographic techniques
Background
The present study deals with the GC MS analysis of one Ayurvedic medicine, Kushmanda Rasayanam. Kushmanda rasayanam is a medicine prescribed to treat cough, breathing problems, chest injuries, bleeding disorders and depletive diseases. It is also claimed that its use increases memory power, intellect and is a good heart tonic.
Results
The medicine was procured from standard Ayurvedic vendor at Chennai, India and was subjected to GC MS analysis following proper protocol. It was observed that some important biomolecules such as beta.-1, 5-O-Dibenzoyl-ribofuranose, n-Hexadecanoic acid, 11-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester, n-Propyl cinnamate, E,E,Z-1,3,12-Nonadecatriene-5,14-diol, Ethyl iso-allocholate, Cholesterol, Hexadecanoic acid, 1-(hydroxymethyl)-1,2-ethanediyl ester do have far reaching medicinal values.
Conclusion
The antioxidant, membrane stabilizing, and anti-inflammatory assays have indicated poor potential of Kushmanda rasayanam as compared to the respective standards.

Efficacy of Adhapushpi (Trichodesma indicum) Linn. R.Br. cream in the management of Sadyo-Vrana (Lacerated wound) - A case report
Background: Everyone experiences wounds and most wounds cure without incident; however, a significant minority of public requires medical treatment like antibiotics, analgesics & regular dressing etc. Trichodesma indicum is utilized in traditional system of medicine. Trichodesma indicum is originated all over India along the wayside. In this present case study Adhapushpi cream is used as local application over a lacerated wound.
Material and Method: In this present case report, patient with lacerated wound was treated by Adhapushpi cream as local application after all the mandatory investigations and its efficacy was evaluated on the basis of clinical parameters.
Results: Patient showed significant results in clinical parameters evaluated. Patient got symptomatic relief in pain, skin colour of surrounding skin, discharge, tenderness and wound healing within 7 days.
Conclusion: From the above case it is concluded that simply applying Adhapushpi cream over a lacerated wound is able to heal it without any antibiotics and analgesic. Study reveals that it not only acts as a Vrana Ropan (Healing agent) but also act as analgesic & anti-inflammatory also.

Evaluation of comparative efficacy of Guduchyadi Leha Versus Kalyanaka Leha as a standard control in the management of Gadgada (Stuttering) in children: A Randomized double-blind clinical study
Background- Speech is a unique characteristic of a human being that helps to convey his/her thoughts, and ideas to others. Stuttering is a speech disability in which a person is unable to speak with a normal fluency of speech. Ayurveda portrays a disease named ‘Gadgada’, which shows the same clinical features as ‘Stuttering’ in conventional science. The present study aimed to compare the efficacy of ‘Guduchyadi Leha’ and ‘Kalyanaka Leha’ as local applications on the tongue and same as internal administration also for the management of Gadgada in children. Material and Method- This Clinical trial was a parallel-arm, randomized double-blind study. A total of 30 patients were enrolled in this study after fulfilling the inclusion criteria, 15 patients were in each group. In Group A- Kalyanaka Leha (Standard control) and in Group B- Guduchyadi Leha (Trial drug) was given for local application over the tongue (Jivha Pratisarana and Prashan) same as for internal administration also for 45 days. Assessment of stuttering was done by using the parameters of the SSI-4 scale fortnightly. Results- Positive results were seen in both groups. On the 90th day, follow-up showed both the group was reduced stuttering and there was an improvement in the fluency of speech. Conclusion- Significant results were noted in both the interventions with less % of regression of stuttering after treatment
Effectiveness of Shadbindu Taila Pratimarsha Nasya Along with Ghrit Bhrisht Haridra in Vataja Pratishyaya (Allergic Rhinitis): A Randomized Open Label Clinical Study
Allergic Rhinitis has been recognized as global health problem which impairs quality of life and work efficiency of the person. It is an IgE mediated inflammation of nasal mucosa caused by allergen. Aim: Combined efficacy of the Shadbindu Taila Pratimarsha Nasya along with oral administration of Ghrit Bhrisht Haridra powder (Cow ghee roasted Curcuma longa L.) compare with oral administration of Ghrit Bhrisht Haridra powder alone in the management of Vataja Pratishyaya (Allergic Rhinitis). Material and Methods: This was randomized, open label clinical study. Randomly selected 60 patients of Vataja Pratishyaya were randomly divided into two groups (30 in each group). Allergic Rhinitis was assessed based on TNSS score, ESR and AEC. Group A patients were treated with combine therapy while Group B were advised to take only Ghrit Bhrisht Haridra powder for 45 days. Statistical analysis used: Relief in the symptoms were assessed in percentage and result were assessed by signed-ranks test, Mann Whitney, paired and unpaired ‘t’ test. Results: In group ‘A’ patients, 12.04% decrease in ESR was reported with (p<0.0001), while in group B only 3.57% decrease in ESR reported with (p=0.0029). Relief observed in Group ‘A’ on symptoms Rhinorrhoea, Nasal Itching, Nasal Obstruction and Sneezing were 73.66%, 94.74%, 86.90%, 88.15% respectively compare to 47.56%, 38.05%, 54.24%, 44.16% in Group ‘B’ with (p<0.0001) in both groups. Conclusion: Study suggested use of combined Ayurvedic therapy (Shadbindu Taila Pratimarsha Nasya along with oral administration of Ghrit Bhrisht Haridra powder) as therapeutic measure for Vataja Pratishyaya
