    Problem-Based Learning Assisted by Teaching Modules on the Classification of Living Things

    A good modul ajar is the main foundation for creating meaningful learning for students. This study aims to produce a suitable teaching module on the subject of Classification of Living Things. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D model that includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The research subjects consisted of 18 students from class X-H, selected using random sampling techniques, and teachers involved in the validation process. The research data consisted of students' cognitive scores and module validation instruments, which were collected through learning outcome tests in the form of student concept comprehension sheets. The data were analyzed quantitatively using SPSS XXVII software to measure the effectiveness of the teaching module. The results showed that the modul ajar developed had gone through all stages of development and revision based on validator input. In addition, it also showed an average student score of 89.1 it can be concluded that this modul ajar is suitable for implementation in grade X and is effective in helping students understand the concept of the Classification of Living Things. Thus, the modul ajar is expected to have a positive impact in supporting a significant improvement in students' conceptual understanding

    Analisis Kebutuhan Modul Ajar Bebasis Model PjBL-RAHMA pada Materi Virus dan Bakteri Fase E SMA/MA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan modul ajar berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL) RAHMA pada materi virus dan bakteri fase E SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara guru biologi dan angket kebutuhan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 36,3% peserta didik mengalami kesulitan pada materi bakteri dan 31,1% pada materi virus, disebabkan oleh materi yang padat dan banyak istilah ilmiah. Peserta didik menginginkan bahan ajar yang menarik, mudah dipahami, dan dilengkapi gambar (39,4%). Selain itu, 32,4% peserta didik menyukai pembelajaran praktik langsung, menunjukkan potensi penerapan model PjBL. Dengan demikian, pengembangan modul ajar berbasis PjBL-RAHMA dinilai relevan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan aktif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran biologi

    Critical Thinking Skills Profile of 7th Grade Junior High School Students on Ecology and Biodiversity Subject

    This research aims to determine the profile of critical thinking skills of Class VII middle school students on ecology and biodiversity material using quantitative descriptive research with data collection techniques using tests, analysis using a quantitative approach consisting of empirical validity, reliability, differentiation, level of difficulty and data analysis scores, and research design using pretest - posttest design, data collection techniques using critical thinking questionnaires, data analysis techniques by looking at interpretation results and N - Gain. The research results of students' critical thinking skills at the beginning of the test (pre-test) reached an average score of 47.49, while the average score of students at the end of learning (posttest) reached 64.09. Based on the interpretation results, it shows that the pre-test results are in the poor category with a total of 63 students (100%), while the post-test scores in the interpretation results show that there are 17 students (26.98%) in the sufficient category and 46 students (73.02%) in the insufficient category. So it can be said that there may be many factors that cause students to lack enthusiasm in science subjects on ecology and biodiversity, including the lack of variety in the methods used in teaching

    Biology Teachers' Perceptions of the Theory of Evolution Based on an Islamic Perspective in Senior High School

    The theory of evolution is still debated today because it is considered to conflict with religious beliefs and teachings, especially concerning the origins of humans. Although many biology teachers believe that the theory of evolution is important and should be taught in schools, teachers' misconceptions about the theory can lead to misunderstandings and controversy. This study aims to identify the types of perceptions held by biology teachers who are Muslim and to describe the influence of Islamic perspectives on Muslim biology teachers' perceptions of the theory of evolution. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study are three Muslim biology teachers from a high school in Cirebon City. The results indicate that the teachers' perceptions fall into the category of Adam's Exceptionalism. Acceptance of the concept of evolution varies, and the Islamic perspective emphasizes that knowledge is a means to understand the greatness of Allah SWT and seek the truth. Teaching the theory of evolution in schools is considered important, and it should be conveyed correctly to prevent misconceptions

    Analysis of Student Learning Problems in Entomology Lectures

    This research aims to analyze various problems and difficulties of students in studying Entomology. The research was conducted using a survey method. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire containing 20 validated questions regarding aspects of students' learning difficulties in studying Entomology. The research data were analyzed descriptively using the Miles and Huberman approach which consists of three steps, namely: data reduction, data display, and data conclusion. The results of the research show that the dominant factor that causes problems for students in studying Entomology is material that they feel is confusing due to the many terms that must be mastered, the learning mechanism is not interactive, and the minimal use of media and reference sources that are interesting and relevant to the topic of the material being studied. Thus, it can be concluded that students' problems in taking Entomology courses lie in three main aspects, namely material, learning mechanisms, and references that are relevant to the topic being studied

    E-Magazine Development of Tuberculosis and Stunting in Jungkat Village as an Instructional Tool in Body Defense System

    Magazines are widely known among teenagers but are still rarely found in the world of education. Content in magazines can also be considered to raise very important issues in society. Information on the relationship between tuberculosis and stunting, which is a problem in society, can be provided in learning through enrichment media in the form of e-magazines to be applied in learning about the structure and function of cells that make up tissue in the body's defense system in class XI high school. This research aims to develop an e-magazine about Immunity and TB and find out the results of the media developed for class XI SMA. The development of the e-magazine adapted the research and development (R&D) framework which refers to Borg and Gall which consists of 10 stages but is limited to the first 5 stages. Media validation was carried out by 5 validators, namely 2 lecturers and 3 high school teachers. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively by calculating the CVR and CVI values. The e-magazine media was successfully developed, and the initial product of this development was considered feasible with CVR and CVI values ​​= 1. The initial product in the form of e-magazine media is ready to proceed to the next development stage by first improving the graphic aspect, namely a clearer image display so that it is easier to understand. It is hoped that the products produced in this development research can motivate teachers to produce innovative media that is in line with technological development

    Potential of The Citizen Science Project (CSP) to Support Biodiversity Learning in Indonesia

    Conservation of biodiversity in Indonesia is very important. This condition is supported by the high diversity owned but very minimal conservation efforts. Collaborative action between local communities and scientists in learning is needed to support conservation through education. Therefore, it is important to analyze the potential of citizen science projects in biodiversity lessons. This study aims to investigate the potential of citizen science projects and the condition of biodiversity learning in schools. This research is classified as descriptive qualitative. The sampling technique used random sampling with data collection using interviews, questionnaire distribution, and literature study. The results obtained show that citizen science projects have great potential in supporting biodiversity learning in Indonesia with local knowledge owned by indigenous peoples. The results are reinforced by data from students and teachers who agree to support citizen science project innovations in conscious, meaningful, and fun learning. This research reveals learning innovations that become alternatives in learning biodiversity in the success of learning outcomes in the form of conservation through education

    Analisis Kebutuhan Pengembangan Modul Ajar Berbasis PjBL-RAHMA pada Materi Bakteri dan Jamur

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kebutuhan untuk mengembangkan modul ajar berbasis model PjBL-RAHMA pada materi bakteri dan jamur pada fase E SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang berorientasi pada pengembangan suatu produk. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu seorang guru mata pelajaran biologi SMA Negeri 13 Padang yang mengajar ppada fase E. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan pedoman observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan Analysis Interactive Miles-Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini diperoleh beberapa hasil yaitu pertama sekolah sudah menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka pada setiap aspek dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga modul ajar sudah sesuai dengan Kurikulum yang digunakan. Kedua guru sudah mencoba membuat pembelajaran proyek namun dalam proses pelaksanaannya  belum mampu mengarahkan murid secara mandiri memecahkan masalah dan menentukan solusi dalam proyek, karena penentuan masalah dan solusi yang terlalu berpusat pada guru, selain itu hal ini belum diintegrasikan ke dalam modul ajar. Ketiga murid memiliki kesulitan dalam mempelajari materi bakteri dan jamur karena materi cukup rumit dan padat. Selain itu murid masih belum bisa membedakan peranan yang dilakukan oleh jamur dan bakteri. Berdasarkan hasil temuain di lapangan dan studi literature diketahui bahwa perlu dikembangkan modul ajar berbasis model PjBL-RAHMA pada materi bakteri dan jamur fase E SMA yang mampu membantu guru dalam mengembalikan proses pembelajaran proyek dengan sebagaimana mestinya

    How Do Learning Models and Media Affect Students' Science Literacy?: A Review

    Science literacy is a critical competency in the 21st century, equipping students with the skills to understand, evaluate, and apply scientific concepts in real-world contexts. This review examines the impact of various learning models and media on improving students’ science literacy. The study synthesizes findings from recent research to explore how instructional approaches such as Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), and Blended Learning promote students’ ability to think critically and solve scientific problems. In addition, the role of digital and traditional media, including virtual simulations, e-modules, and hands-on laboratory activities, is discussed in promoting engagement and conceptual understanding. Key factors influencing the effectiveness of learning models and media are also analyzed. The review highlights gaps in current studies and identifies best practices for implementing learning strategies that support science literacy. This article aims to provide evidence-based insights to educators, researchers, and policymakers to design effective instructional strategies that foster scientifically literate individuals

    This research aims to develop E-LKPD (electronic Student Worksheet) teaching materials using the Live worksheet web platform on human digestive system material for class XI high school students. The background to this research is the need for innovative and interactive teaching materials that can support effective and efficient learning processes in the digital era. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model (define, design, development, disseminate. The results of the analysis of the main needs for teaching materials show that 100% of the 7 students are interested in studying the biology of the human digestive system using mobile phones, as many as 100% of the 7 students need alternative teaching materials that can be used to study the digestive system and 100% of students agree to develop electronic-based teaching materials on the human digestive system
