    INTERACTION BETWEEN MANAGERIAL COMPETENCIES AND LEADERSHIP IN BUSINESS ORGANISATIONS

    In recent years, relationship-based theories and research have gained momentum resulting in emergence of numerous studies dealing with various aspects of leadership. Rapid changes in the business environment are associated with development of managerial competencies and improvements of leadership within organisations.The topic of the article owes its relevance to the fact that leadership development is seen as an increasingly important strategic imperative of an organisation; moreover, in order to survive and succeed in the present day’s turbulent and highly competitive environment organisations need to develop leadership at all levels of the organisational structure.     Vydūnas, Rytai ir krikščionybė: pastabos apie Vydūno religinės tapatybės formavimosi bei raiškos ypatumus

    This article critically discuss and analize the predominant conception of Vydūnas as a representative of neovedantism. This predominant interpretation of Vydūnas religious identity was popularized by the most productive researcher of Vydūnas Vacys Bagdonavičius. Analysing methodological approach of V. Bagdonavičius and basing on hermeneutical view to fenomena of Vydūnas religious expression, it is indicated that the prime influence to Vydūnas religious identity formation was made by the junction and tension between Germanish liberal protestant theology and local, conservative ,,gathering crowd“ tradition, which impel Vydūnas to universal, confessionally neutral and sincretic interest for religions. Article reveals hypothesis, that Vydūnas creative- religious espression could be perceived as a development of basic liberal protestantic belief principles and its adaptation to concrete historical-cultural also political East Prussia lithuanians situation, in order to avoid confrontation between this two different religious traditions and politically consolidate nation.Key words: Vydūnas, religion, christianity, protestantism, neovedantism, East.doi:http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rh.v21i0.152

    GIFTS OF THE KING. “HANSEATIC” BRONZE BOWLS IN THIRTEENTH CENTURY ESTONIA: SIGNS OF DANISH CRUSADES?

    The Virumaa province in northeast Estonia is the area with the biggest concentration of ‘Hanseatic bowl’ finds in Europe. The finds originate mostly from deposits, often consisting of sets of numerous items. This article suggests a connection between these finds and the Danish crusade to Estonia in 1219, interpreting the bowls as the king’s gift to new subjects for their loyalty, also looking at a possible broader context, and drawing hypothetical parallels with the Danish crusade to Samland and Prussia in 1210.Key words: bronze bowls, Estonia, Denmark, Samland, crusade, mission, gifts for loyalty.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/ab.v24i0.156

    Lietuvoje dar nesukurtas bendras neformaliojo ir savaiminio mokymosi pasiekimų vertinimo ir pripažinimo universitete modelis, stokojama empirinių tyrimų, nėra ekspertų vertintojų rengimo sistemos universitetams, akademinėms bendruomenėms trūksta informacijos apie šiuo būdu įgytų kompetencijų vertinimo ir pripažinimo universitete ypatumus, daugelis universitetų neturi tokio mokymosi vertinimo patirties. Todėl straipsnyje gvildenamos neformaliojo ir savaiminio mokymosi pasiekimų vertinimo ir pripažinimo galimybės universitete. Atlikta teorinė ir empirinė analizė patvirtino, jog šis procesas universitete vyks sėkmingai, jei bus sukurtas bendras neformaliojo ir savaiminio mokymosi pasiekimų vertinimo ir pripažinimo modelis, jo pagrindu bus kuriamos ir adaptuojamos įvairių specialybių pripažinimo metodikos, bus nuolat tiriami pageidaujančiųjų dalyvauti šiame procese poreikiai ir vykdoma sklaida apie galimybes įsivertinti kompetencijas, įgytas neformaliuoju ir savaiminiu būdu.PAGRINDINIAI ŽODŽIAI: neformalusis mokymasis ir savaiminis mokymasis, mokymosi pasiekimai, vertinimas ir pripažinimas.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/andragogy.v7i0.137

    A study on digital teaching competence of university teachers from Lithuania and Latvia within the peesa project

    Most of the research efforts were made to investigate digital competence of teachers in secondary schools. However, little attention has been paid to the analysis of digital teaching competence of academic staff in higher education institutions. The aim of the research is to analyse the digital teaching competence of academic staff underpinning elaboration of a research question on on-line training for university teachers. Interdisciplinary research was implemented. The empirical study was carried out in Lithuania and Latvia in 2016. Data collection was based on a questionnaire. The sample included 120 university teachers from project participant countries. The data were processed via quantitative analysis methods. The digital teaching competence of academic staff in Lithuania and Latvia’ higher education institutions needs to be developed. A new research question is formulated: How to organise on-line training for academic staff in order to increase their level of digital teaching competence?     The qualitative and quantitative analysis of canine therapy with children with special educational needs is presented in this article. Canine therapy sessions were carried out in two groups of participants. The 1st group consisted from children with behavioural-emotional problems, the second group – consisted from children who have disability of intelligence and have diagnosis confirmed by physicians. The qualitative and quantitative analysis confirmed positive social, emotional, psychological and educational changes in both groups of children. Relatively greater changes are observed in the group of children with disability of intelligence. The parents of first group of children evaluated their behavioural-emotional difficulties before and after canine therapy sessions. There were no significant differences in mothers scores of children behavioural-emotional difficulties before and after canine therapy sessions, fathers’ scores of behavioral-emotional difficulties of children are lower after canine therapy sessions, and significantly lower are scores of anxiety / depression difficulties after canine therapy sessions.KEY WORDS: canine therapy, Animal assisted therapy, special educational needs, behavioural-emotional difficulties
