Get PDFThe scope of theoretical research on organizational change, which is characterized by fragmentation and interdisciplinary, is inevitably expanding. Such vision requires a deeper, complex analysis of the organization’s activities, identification of directions of strategic changes in the organization and the management of the proper preparation for strategic changes. The classical management focuses only on the issues of the management of the change processes, but the leaders of the present-day organizations must refine the strategic directions of change and follow them, and construct a change management strategy in the organization. This article presents theoretical aspects of the identification of directions of strategic changes in organizations based on the ideas of other researchers and theoretical insights created by the authors themselves.KEY WORDS: Strategic Change Directions, Organizational Change, Change Management
Interpretative Repertoires of Roles of Family Social Workers’ in the Context of Lithuania
Get PDFThe aim of this study was to describe family social work through analyzing the roles of social workers. Qualitative research was carried out in three big cities of Lithuania: Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 family social workers. A discursive psychology approach was chosen. Family social workers’ interpretative roles repertoires appear among professional, public and organizational discourses. UNIQUE SELF SEARCH IN VOCAL JAZZ
Get PDFThe paper reveals the phenomenon of jazz music and analyses the expression of vocal jazz in a historical, philosophical, and educational context. The historical origins of jazz are related to a community culture and to the natural and authentic creative process; inner freedom is one of the most significant aspects of jazz music, based on improvisation. The global practice of jazz vocal studies is predominated by a systemic approach that links the physiological, psychological, and mental levels. The study process is not separated from the personality (self) development and the creation of a sensitive and enabling relation culture. The paper presents a reflection on personal practical experience and is based on the data of a presentation Unique Self Search in Vocal Jazz: Jazz Voice + Theatrical Elements: Wider Opportunity for Self-Expression, given in the 2nd International Scientific Jazz Vocal Conference held in the Sibelius Academy (Helsinki, Finland). Creating an organizational learning culture (OLC) has achieved an increase in the survivability of organizations. This paper examines OCB and OLC questionnaires, tests their reliability and validity and adapts them to the public sector. Praėjusių metų sausio 1-ąją Lietuvos evangelikai liuteronai ir evangelikai reformatai, kukliai švęsdami Kristijono Donelaičio gimtadienį, buvo pilni abejonių: kažin ar užteks jėgų ir sumanumo iškilmingai paminėti 500-uosius Reformacijos metus, ar pavyks sudominti reformatorių asmenybėmis ir jų skelbtomis tezėmis kitų konfesijų tikinčiuosius? ATTITUDE TO PROTESTANTISM IN POST-SOVIET RUSSIA
Get PDFThe article deals with the attitude to Protestantism in the post-soviet Russia. Formation of Protestantism in Russia can be considered in the present paper. Thus, the purposes of this research are to examine formation of Protestantism in Russia, to analyze attitude of Russians to Protestantism and to identify its reasons. The author’s periodization of Protestantism formation in Russia is proposed. This periodization is based on 3 criteria: types of Protestants activities at each stage; the government’s attitude to it; its functions. It is shown that the establishment of the Russian Protestantism version took five basic steps. In modern Russia, Protestantism has its own history, values it gained its traditions, and it has its own distinctive character. Protestant churches are ready to actively participate in solving the pressing issues facing the people of the country. The authors suggest that the most authoritative of them can and should acquire the status of social partners of state institutions and significantly contribute to the spiritual and moral education of young people, to overcoming child homelessness and neglect, to family strengthening, to improvement of moral atmosphere in society and to the formation of high standards of business, economic and work ethic. The positive development of this process and its dynamics are largely dependent on Russian Protestants consolidation and on their willingness and ability to develop and strengthen interfaith relations and cooperation. According to the article, the attitude of most Russians to Protestantism is largely negative, although most of them have friends or acquaintances among the followers of this religion. The reasons for this are stereotypes in the public opinion of Russians: about the church itself (simplification of ceremonies, of the Bible, of the decoration of the church), and about the personal qualities of the congregation (the rejection of community service and charity, lack of citizenship).KEYWORDS: religion, protestantism, spirituality, morality, social partnership, interfaith cooperation, attitude to protestantism, values of protestantism
WELFARE AS A FORM OF ENSURING THE SOCIAL SAFETY OF SOCIETY AND AN EFFECTIVE AND SUCCESSFUL TOOL IN ELECTION CAMPAIGNS (THOUGHTS BASED ON THE SITUATION IN CONTEMPORARY POLAND)
Get PDFWelfare in its narrow understanding means the state’s material help given to the members of society. It also may be understood as the whole of the state’s activities aimed at multi-level support for various social groups. The aim of this paper is to show different elements of material help given to society by the state which help society to meet social security. Also, the findings based on some examples of the current Polish history show how this kind of state’s support may help politicians to gain success in elections. The author argues that the same reality, i.e., social help, may be used for people’s welfare, however, it may be also used to obtain political goals. It must be noticed that using welfare for political goals often happens the situation when electoral promises are not necessary implemented after a particular party wins the election. To achieve the main purpose of this research the method of analysis was applied. The volume focuses exclusively on research into north European Stone Age archaeology in the chapter ‘The Stone Age in Northern Europe: Changes in Landscape, Technologies and Beliefs’. This chapter covers various themes relating to the three periods of the Stone Age, Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic. The articles seek to address important regional aspects of the Stone Age, from the development of the recolonisation of the landscape to technologies and mobile art. The second chapter in the volume is called ‘Material from the Medieval and the Modern Age: Social Interaction between Communities’, and presents articles on Medieval and Modern Age archaeology. There are only three papers in this chapter; however, they discuss important issues relating to social, religious and political activities

Get PDFIn conclusion, it can be said that learning environment is divided into five structural elements: the physical, psychological, social, intellectual and administrative environments. The authors (Wilson, 1995, Bowden, Marton 1998) using a term of the learning environment, emphasizes the environment created by the andragog. There are four dimensions: content, teaching methods, learning task sequence / reconciliation and social context. According to L. Šiaučiukėnienė et al. (2006: 210) the elements of the learning environment can be distinguished as: information sources, physical or virtual space, learning skills and experience, social interaction. A learning environment can be treated as natural and as designed, but they must have an educational impact for the individual and educational value, i.e. the ability to education facilities to help someone to prepare for life and how to solve problems of the activities. The adaptation of the learning environment for the needs of disabled learners is important, because it is an opportunity to attract students to private or other schools. Another noticeable benefit received by the institution of higher education, is that people with disabilities are changing attitudes among students and teachers which helps to humanize the environment. Speaking about the informational learning environment, accommodated to the learners with disabilities in the „Methodology of the informational environment development for people with disabilities“ it is explained that the general requirements for increasing the availability of the informational environment are these: 1) to use the measures to enhance the availability of operating system functionality without compromising information environment; 2) to ensure consistency with helping measures that increases the availability; 3) all functions must be available by using only keyboard; 4) to submit documentation and instructions available for learners with disabilities, (including electronic form); 5) to use a simple, easy understandable language in the documentations, instructions and emergency measures, in addition with the illustrative descriptions if necessary; 6) to provide details of the measures which increases the availability of all descriptions and explanations; 7) to provide a logical sequence of transitions between management orders, input boxes, and other objects; 8) introduce technical staff with the creation of informational environment for people with disabilities and with reduced opportunities for education system; 9) to ensure the support and assistance of the created informational environment on account of accessibility problems. There are plenty of e-learning systems, for example, „Moodle“, „Lotus Learning Space“, „Oracle Learning“, „SABA Learning Enterprise“, „ATutor, IntraLearn“, „ReadyGo“, WCB, „Blackboard“, „WBTExpress“, „EWS Editor“, „Lotus Virtual Classroom“, „Edmodo“, „Schoology“, etc.After analyzing the approach of andragogs towards the enviroment that meets the special needs for learners with physical disability, the importance of creativity and other peculiarities, it is concluded, that the insufficiently secured or unsecured learning environment has a negative impact on the quality of communication, the social inclusion of people with disabilities, learning outcomes and causes a number of problems. According to adult educators‘, this requires detailed knowledge of psychology and practical communication skills with physically disabled learners, learning environment with additional visualization and adjustment program items. It is necessary to pay more material / financial resources of the environmental improvement.
