Features information from young children in the process to investigate criminal cases
The article discusses some of the problems devoted to obtaining information from young children in the criminal investigation process. Of course, every specialist, who has previously carried out such interrogations, has some idea of how difficult it is to implement such questioning without special knowledge about child psychology. This article describes the techniques that are still not widely known, though they are evidence-based, and their effectiveness is confirmed by studies conducted in the investigation of serious crimes in the Russian Federation. The article may contribute to the development of professional thinking investigative personnel, the expansion of information about the psychology of communication during interrogation, the possibilities of preserving and changes emerging in this situations. Taking into consideration that the process of obtaining information from an interrogee is based on objective laws of psychology and criminology, it seems that the findings can be used not only in the practice of Russian law enforcement agencies but also in other countries
Self-Efficacy to Perform Activities of Daily Living Predicts Independence in Activities of Daily Living in Subacute Stroke Patients
This study was purposed to investigate the characteristics of self-efficacy to perform activities of daily living (ADL), characteristics of independence in ADL, and correlation between self-efficacy to perform activities of daily living (ADL) and independence in ADL in subacute stroke patients. The study was a descriptive correlation design. Forty- eight participants were recruited with mean age 57.23 (7.80) years, mean days of stroke onset 6.06 (5.00) days, who diagnosed with ischemic stroke. Modified Stroke Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (MSSEQ) measured self-efficacy to perform ADL and Functional Assessment Measure (FIM+FAM) measured independence in ADL. The influencing variables of participant such as age, gender, BI Score, side stroke and participant knowledge were not significantly correlated to self- efficacy to perform ADL and independence in ADL. The mean score of self-efficacy to perform ADL was at a moderate level (67.7%) and the mean score of independence in ADL was at a moderate dependence (50.5%). A positive and significant modified correlations were found between self-efficacy to perform ADL and independence in ADL (r = .30, p = .05). Self- efficacy to perform ADL predicted 7% of the variance in the independence in ADL. This finding indicates higher self- efficacy to perform ADL of subacute stroke patients contributes to more independence in ADL. The description of initial level of self-efficacy to perform ADL in early phase rehabilitation following stroke as a reference to design continuous intervention to enhance self-efficacy and functional independence for stroke patients
An Evaluation of Three Drift Reduction Adjuvants for Aerial Application of Pesticides
Preventing pesticide drift from aerial applications is important for environmental and application efficiency reasons. Proper analysis of drift reduction technologies or techniques is an essential component of the drift prevention process. In the current study, three drift reduction adjuvants were tested with two herbicides under several application conditions used by rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft in the U.S. Data was collected using a high speed wind tunnel and laser diffraction equipment. The results of the study indicated application conditions, and not adjuvant inclusion, were the largest drivers of the droplet size distribution and drift potential. Data was further computed in the drift prediction program, AGDISP, where little differences were observed between the treatments. This study highlighted the importance of testing drift reduction technologies or techniques from multiple viewpoints
Turning Customer Feedback into Commitment
A growing number of firms are investing in being on the cutting edge of customer connections. However, when retailers continually promote customer feedback, it can be a huge weakness if there’s not a unique and involved communication channel with desirable customer benefits. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the effects of customer product involvement on satisfaction, emotional connectivity, brand loyalty and word-of-mouth behavior. The major findings of this study are that customer product involvement has a strong positive relationship to a customer’s satisfaction and emotional connectivity, and brand loyalty, through customer product involvement, significantly influences a customer’s word-of-mouth behavior. The participant’s responses supported all hypotheses within data analysis. Secondary findings suggest that shoppers who purchase and browse many times per year are more likely to becoming involved in the CPI process
Analysing the Effects of Foreign Direct Investments to the Movements of the Philippine Peso Exchange Rate: A Granger Causality Test between Variables
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the role ofPhilippine exchange rate in explaining the movement of theForeign Direct Investments (FDI) in the Philippines. The studyused time series monthly data of the Philippine FDIs and pesoexchange rate from January 2005 to December 2014. AugmentedDickey Fuller (ADF) test was used in order to test the stationarityof the data. To examine the heteroscedasticity in the data, thepaper utilized the LaGrange-Multiplier Test of ARCH Test andExponential Generalized Autoregressive ConditionalHeteroskedasticity (EGARCH). Finally, the Granger Test forCausality was used to determine if the foreign direct investmentsand exchange rate have long-run dynamic relationship duringthe period covered. The results showed that there is no significantrelationship between exchange rate and FDI. The Philippineexchange rate does not Granger caused the volatility of theforeign direct investments, and vice versa. This implies that otherPhilippine economic variables, excluding FDIs, may influence thevolatility in exchange rate. Also, it can be suggested that theexchange rate movement does not attract FDIs, thus, authoritiesshould look at other factors in managing the levels of FDIs andhow it can be increased

International Accounting Normalization and Harmonization Processes across the World: History and Overview
Based on a literature review, the paper traces the history of the International Accounting normalization, and presents an overview of the harmonization process across different regions of the world. In a first part we present the circumstances that led to the genesis of the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) in 1973, by returning to the evolution of its notoriety, and to the production of its first international accounting standards (IAS). After discussing the replacement of the IASC in 2001 by the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation (IASCF) and the International Accounting standards Board (IASB), we give details on how the international standards were henceforth called International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), due to their new dominating financial aspect. In the second part of the paper, we discuss the existing differences between developed and developing countries regarding the international accounting harmonization process. After discussing the limits and the advantages of the international accounting harmonization, we raise the issue of financial security in relation to the process of international accounting harmonization

High-dimension profiling data generate a multifunctional peptide-mimic chemo-structure by connecting conserved fragments based on the neutrophil immune defense CAP37 protein as an in-silico antibacterial and woundhealing candidate agent
CAP37, a protein constitutively EXPRESSED in human neutrophils and induced in responseto infection in corneal epithelial cells, plays a significant role in host defense against infection. Initiallyidentified through its potent bactericidal activity for Gram-negative bacteria, it is now known that CAP37regulates numerous host cell functions, including corneal epithelial cell chemotaxis. Delineation of thedomains of CAP37 that define these functions and synthesize bioactive peptides for therapeutic use have alsobeen explored. Novel findings of a multifunctional domain between a 120 and 146 have also been reported. Here, in Biogenea Pharmaceuticals Ltd we for the first time generated a multifunctional peptide-mimicchemo-structure by connecting conserved fragments based on the neutrophil immune defense CAP37 proteinas an in-silico antibacterial and wound-healing canditate agent. This in silico effort was accomplished byutilizing various generated descriptors of proteins, compounds and their interactions resulting in aperformance/cost evaluation study for a GPU-based drug discovery application on volunteer computingapproaches based on Automated Structure-Activity Relationship Minings in Connecting Chemical Structureto Biological Profiles for the generation of novel Computational biomodeling of 3D drug-protein binding freeenergy evaluation
Overcoming cancer multidrug resistance through inhibition of microparticles
One of the main obstacles to success of chemotherapy agents is the development of cancer resistance. Cancer multi-drug resistance (MDR) is thought to arise from over-expression of efflux transporters on cancer cells’ plasma membranes. Recently, microparticles (MP) were found to play a major role in mediating the resistance to antineoplastic agents. Microparticles can confer MDR phenotype to cancer cells though 3 complimentary pathways: 1) Intercellular transfer of P-gp and MRP1; 2) Intercellular transfer of regulatory nucleic acids that ensure acquisition of MDR phenotype; and 3) Internal sequestration of anticancer drugs to reduce the amount of free active drug. Compounds that inhibit MP formation that are currently under investigation include calpain inhibitors, RhoA inhibitors, ROCK inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, pantethine, glutaminase inhibitors, some anti-platelet drugs and some lipid-lowering agents. This area of research requires further development to select, improve and test those compounds that show the most promise in providing safe and effective treatment against MDR
