Feminism in Jane Eyre and Rickshaw Boy
Jane Eyre and females in Rickshaw Boy have the similar spirit. They all have the characteristics of the females nowadays. The feminism of Jane Eyre are the rebellious spirit to fight against the unfair destiny, the spirit of equality to pursue the pure love and the spirit of the persistence to pursue the happiness; In the Rickshaw Boy, female characters can challenge the status of men and some females are intelligent and have the consciousness of revolution. Besides, there are similarities and differences between Jane Eyre and Rickshaw Boy. Females in two books have the progressive spirit but the feminism in two books conveys the different information. Moreover, the feminism of two books has a great influence on females nowadays and women gain the spiritual power from two books. It is meaningful to connect Jane Eyre and Rickshaw Boy to explore the feminism because the western feminism and the eastern feminism can provide different angles. Women are awakened to protect themselves and fight against the unfair destiny from the upper class to the underclass. The feminism in two books is the most important resource for women to understand the active women consciousness and encourages women to pursue the happiness and rights
DCLR Modifi ed Petroleum Asphalt Optimization and Mixture Road Performance
In recent decades, modifi ed asphalt materials have been used in enhancing the traffi c load on the roads. The main objective of this paper is to explore the modifi cation eff ect of direct coal liquefaction residue (DCLR) on as- phalt binders and investigate the eff ectiveness of DCLR in improving the performance of asphalt road. This paper prepared modifi ed petroleum as-phalt under diff erent process conditions and tested its penetration, softening point and ductility index. Based on the experimental data, according to gray correlation degree, the performance for the asphalt was compared. The performance for the modifi ed asphalt is simulated and predicted using poly-nomial functions. The modifi ed asphalt was analyzed by FT-IR, TGA, SEM and HPLC. The results show that the optimal process conditions for DCLR modifi ed asphalt are shear mixing time of 45 min, shear mixing tempera- ture of 150 °C and shear mixing rate of 4000 r/min. The predicted fi t with the experimental data of 0.993 further demonstrates the effectiveness of the method. The characterization results show no signifi cantchemical change between the DCLR and the asphalt. DCLR can signifi cantly improve the high temperature performance and water stability of the asphalt, but it has little impact on its low temperature performance

Study on the Effect of High-quality Nursing Combined with Breathing Exercises on Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective: To study the effect of high-quality nursing combined with breathing exercises on patients with COPD. Methods: Using the random number table method of medical experiments, 60 patients with COPD received in our hospital from March 2020 to March 2021 were used as research samples. According to the differences in treatment measures, they were equally divided into control group and intervention group. Symptomatic support treatment and nursing routine, high-quality nursing combined with respiratory function exercise treatment and nursing were given respectively, and the application effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results: The controllable rate of disease between the intervention group and the control group was 93.33% (28/30) and 66.67% (20/30) respectively, which was statistically significant (P<0.05). The comparison between the intervention group and the control group on the pulmonary function indexes of VT, TPTEF/Te, VEF/Te/, Ti/Te was statistically significant (P<0.05). The results of the intervention group on exercise pulse and 6-minute walking distance were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions: The combination of high-quality nursing care and breathing exercises has outstanding disease controllable rate in patients with COPD, especially in improving the lung function of the patients and the level of treatment and care. It can be used as a feasible measure in the subsequent clinical treatment and nursing practice of patients. It is worthy of clinical promotion and implementation
Analysis of the Effect of Parathoracic Nerve Block and Compound Propofol Anesthesia on the Perioperative Period of Elderly Thoracotomy
Objective: To explore the application of thoracic nerve block and propofol anesthesia in the treatment and perioperative period. Methods: A total of 40 patients with thoracotomy for esophageal cancer between May 2020 and September 2021 in the hospital were selected to participate in this study. All the patients were divided into reference and experimental groups according to the anesthesia protocol. For the experimental group, the parathoracic vertebral nerve block scheme was used under ultrasound guidance, with general anesthesia in the same manner, and after the surgical treatment of both groups, the patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) regimen was applied to both patients. The time of surgery for the two patient groups, intraoperative propofol, postoperative pain conditions and postoperative blood glucose and NE, E, DA levels were measured and conducted for comparative analysis. Results: There is no significant differences between the two groups, besides, in the experimental group, propofol in surgery was less than that in the reference group; At the T6~T9 timepoint, patients in the experimental group had lower VAS scores in quiet and active conditions than those in the reference group; At the T9 timepoint, blood glucose and NE levels were higher than the T1, T4, T5 time point levels in each group; At the T4, T4 timepoint, E levels in both groups were lower than the T1, T9 time point level in each group; at T9 time point, the DA level was higher in the reference group than the T1, T4 time point level in each group; at T9 Time point, blood glucose and NE, E, DA were lower than those in the reference group. Conclusions: In the treatment of thoracotomy in elderly patients, thoracic paravertebral nerve block compound propofol anesthesia program can be used to patients, with striking anesthesia effect and remarkable recovery effect in perioperative period, which is conducive to relieving postoperative pain and worth promotion and application
Effect of Yaw Angle on Large Scale Three-blade Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines
Offshore Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT) are used globally as a source of clean and renewable energy. Turbine efficiency can be improved by optimizing the geometry of the turbine blades. Turbines are generally designed in a way that its orientation is adjustable to ensure the wind direction is aligned with the axis of the turbine shaft. The deflection angle from this position is defined as yaw angle of the turbine. Understanding the effects of the yaw angle on the wind turbine performance is important for the turbine safety and performance analysis. In this study, performance of a yawed HAWT is studied by computational fluid dynamics. The wind flow around the turbine is simulated by solving the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations using software ANSYS Fluent. The principal aim of this study is to quantify the yaw angle on the efficiency of the turbine and to check the accuracy of existing empirical formula. A three-bladed 100-m diameter prototype HAWT was analysed through comprehensive Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. The turbine efficiency reaches its maximum value of 33.9% at 0° yaw angle and decreases with the increase of yaw angle. It was proved that the cosine law can estimate the turbine efficiency with a yaw angle with an error less 10% when the yaw angle is between –30° and 30°. The relative error of the cosine law increase at larger yaw angles because of the power is reduced significantly
Site Characterization Data Model and GIS-based Tools for Offshore Engineering Projects
Offshore engineering projects require the management of a huge amount of heterogeneous georeferenced data - among others metocean, geophysical, geotechnical, and environmental, which need a Data Model, data visualization and data analytics features on a common geographic basis. A Digital Data Platform (DDP) has been developed on a GIS ambient with the aim to speed up the engineering design process (i.e. minimization of routine operations), and also prevent misalignment of the data originating from different sources from Owner to Suppliers and any potential loss of information. The proposed GIS architecture is composed by two main components: i) the Data Model geodatabase, and ii) the GIS-Model Toolbar add-in. The proposed development represents a step forward on the definition of a common specification and dictionary for offshore project execution overcoming the current bottlenecking and inefficiency on the design phases between the project owner and the engineering contractor. The paper illustrates “what” and “how”, and in particular: i) the geodatabase and Data Model framework, ii) the required parameters to be organized and stored for offshore engineering design, and iii) the widgets implementation (i.e. GIS-based tools). Its application on a case study project with practical examples is presented.
Invertebrates Diversity in Arabuko-Sokoke Forest and Nearby Farmland at Gede, Kilifi County, Kenya
Insectivorous bats mainly feed on various types of invertebrates. The authors studied the abundance and diversity of invertebrates in the farmland in the eastern part of Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, mainly to assess their availability to insectivorous bats occurring in the two study sites. Solar powered light traps were used to attract aerial invertebrates to a white suspended cloth sheet used as a landing surface. The sampling was conducted for four hours in one trapping station each night, and in twelve different stations both in the ASF and farmland. A total of 6,557 invertebrates individuals were trapped, which included 48% in ASF and 52% in the farmland. The two most common invertebrate orders were Hymenoptera (ants, bees, wasps and sawflies) represented by 38.1%, and Coleoptera (beetles, 28.1%). The interior of ASF had higher invertebrate species diversity (Shannon-Weiner index 1.72 ± 0.1), than the farmland (1.41 ± 0.1). Although the farmland (260.5 ± 52.9, N=12) had higher mean number of invertebrates trapped per night, than the interior of ASF (200.3 ± 36.4, N=12), there was no significant difference between the medians of invertebrates captured in the two study areas (Mann-Whitney U-Test, U=61: P>0.544). Thus, the farmland and the interior of ASF had the same invertebrate abundance. This study indicates the value of human-modified areas (agricultural and human settlements) landscapes, always ignored in biodiversity surveys, in sustaining diverse invertebrates that are preyed by different species of insectivorous bats that occur in the two study areas
Evaluating the Effect of Irisin on Obesity-Concerning Physical Activity
Background: The study aims to investigate and evaluate the impactof irisin on physical activity and obesity. Materials and Methods: Inthe search for scientific literature related to this review the US NationalLibrary of Medicine (PubMed) used MEDLINE and SportDiscus dataand the terms "irisin", "physical activity", and "obesity", were used. Therelevant literature has also taken its source from the research of relevantarticles from reference lists derived from data studies. Results: Irisin, anemerging myokine in the scientific community, has received high attentionas a potential contributor to obesity. This hormone is also associated withphysical activity. Conclusions: Irisin was recently identified as a myokineknown to respond to physical activity. Adequate recognition of thishormone may play an active role in the prevention and treatment of obesity
Analysis of Heat Transfer Phenomena inside Concrete Hollow Blocks
During both hot and cold seasons, masonry walls play an important role in the thermal performance between the interior and the exterior of occupied spaces. It is thus essential to analyze the thermal behavior at the hollow block’s level in order to better understand the temperature and heat flux distribution in its structure and potentially limit as much as possible the heat transfer through the block. In this scope, this paper offers an experimental and numerical in-depth analysis of heat transfer phenomena inside a hollow block using a dedicated experimental setup including a well-insulated reference box and several thermocouples and fluxmeters distributed at the boundaries and inside the hollow block. The block was then numerically 3D modelled and simulated using COMSOL Multiphysics under the same conditions, properties, and dimensions as the experimentally tested block. The comparison between the numerical and experimental results provides very satisfactory results with relative difference of less than 4% for the computed thermal resistance
