As a result, even slight boosts in appropriateness can have a major impact on profits as well as the shopping experience of millions of users. Throughout the beginning, Amazon's product search engine was made up of a number of manually adjusted ranking processes that made use of a limited number of input features. Since that time, a significant amount has transpired. Many people overlook the fact that Amazon is a search engine, and even the biggest one for e-commerce. It is indeed time to begin treating Amazon truly as the top e-commerce search engine across the globe because it currently serves 54% of all product queries.     Electronic Structure of CdS Nanoparticles and CdSe/CdS Nanosystems

    The electronic states of “wurtzite” CdS nanoparticles and CdSe/CdS nanosystems with up to 80 pairs of Cd-Se or CdS atoms were calculated.The results for CdS particles were compared with the results obtained earlier for CdSe particles of the same size and with published calculations of other authors. The calculated gap values in the range of 2.84 eV ~ 3.78 eV are typical for CdS particles of studied sizes in accordance with results of published data. The CdSe/CdS nanosystems were considered as layered ones and as quantum dots. The layered CdSe/CdS systems with twolayer CdS coverings can be interpreted in terms of combinations of two semiconductors with different energy band gaps (2.6 eV and 3.3 eV), while analogous systems with single-layer CdS coverings do not demonstrate a two-gap electron structure. Simulation of a CdSe/CdS quantum dot shows that the single-layer CdS shell demonstrates a tendency for the formation of the electronic structure with two energy gaps: approximately of 2.5 eV and 3.0 eV

    Stormwater Quality Characteristics and Reuse Analysis of Different Underlying Surfaces at Wanzhou North Station

    In response to the water shortage in Wanzhou North Station (WNS), the authors investigated the stormwater quality characteristics with different underlying surfaces of WNS and carried out stormwater reuse analysis in conjunction with the InfoWorks ICM model. The results show that during heavy, torrential, and moderate rainfall, the road stormwater runoff has the highest concentrations of pollutants, with an average EMC (event mean concentration) value of 206 mg/L for COD. For the square runoff, the average EMC values of COD, SS, TN, and TP are 108 mg/L, 395 mg/L, 2.113 mg/L, and 0.128 mg/L, in comparison, the average EMC values of the corresponding indexes for the roof runoff are 65 mg/L, 212 mg/L, 1.449 mg/L, and 0.086 mg/L, respectively, demonstrating their potential for reuse. The R2 (coefficient of determination) of SS and COD in both roof and square runoff is greater than 0.85, with a good correlation, indicating that SS removal is the key to stormwater purification. InfoWorks ICM analysis shows that the recyclable volume of rainwater from WNS in 2018 is 29,410 m3, accounting for 61.8% of the total annual rainfall. This study is expected to provide an ideal reference for the stormwater management of public buildings in mountainous areas

    Sustainable Economic Development: The Necessary Dialogue between Environmental Law and Economics

    This article aims to analyze the distinction between the concepts of economic growth, economic development, sustainable development and environmental justice; the inter-action between Environmental Law and Economics in the paradigm of environmental justice, and what is the purpose of such interaction; and environmental justice as a possible solution to the installed state of environmental imbalance. To this end, the concepts of economic growth, economic development, sustainable development and environmental justice are investigated; Complexity Theory and its transdisciplinary approach; and environmental justice as a new order capable of reversing a state of installed environmental imbalance. To obtain the results desired by the research, the method of approach to be followed will be the empirical-dialectical, using bibliographic research, having as a reference system of the Law and Economics of Richard A. Posner. In conclusion, it is pointed out that there is a need for a new development model, which, based on transdisciplinarity, should seek solutions in favor of socioeconomic-environmental balance for present and future generations, as a way of overcoming the state of environmental imbalance installed, as well as all the economic, political, cultural, social and environmental impacts caused by it

    Geochemical Characterization of Mineralized Pegmatites around Wowyen Areas, Akwanga, Northcentral Nigeria

    This study aims to account for the petrogenesis and mineralization of pegmatites around the Wowyen area, northcentral basement complex,Nigeria. Field studies, petrography and whole rock geochemistry (Major oxides were estimated by X-Ray Fluorescence while the trace elements were estimated by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) where the methods adopted. The pegmatites around Wowyen area are emplaced in the remobilized belt of the Nigerian Basement complex. They are predominantly complex pegmatites (rare-metal pegmatites) which are intruded in the biotite-muscovite gneiss while the simple pegmatites intruded more in the migmatitic banded gneiss. The major components of the complex pegmatites are quartz, albite and muscovite and tourmaline.The accessory constituents are garnet; ilmenites; cassiterite-columbitetantalite oxides in contrast to quartz, microcline and biotite of the simple pegmatites. The complex pegmatites show higher peraluminous than the simple pegmatites, however, higher fractionation is observed in the complex pegmatites than the simple pegmatites. The complex pegmatites are rather enriched in rare elements such as Li, Rb, B, Cs, Sn, Nb, Be and Ta and show low ratios in Al/Ga and K/Rb than the simple pegmatites. The pegmatites are likely product of sedimentary origin and originated from post-collisional tectonic event

    Investigation of Miocene Methane Hydrate Generation Potential in the Transylvanian Basin, Romania

    In geology we often revise theoretical models; upon finding new evidence,such as the discovery of methane hydrates, the initial model will be challenged immediately. Hereby the authors put forward two postulates:1) There is a third, previously unexplored source of methane in the Transylvanian Basin, based on a new theoretical approach on methane hydrate formation; 2) The dissociation of methane hydrates creates a strong chlorinity anomaly. Based on a recent analogy with the Black Sea basin model, we apply our statements to the Transylvanian Basin. Using direct and indirect indicators and the published system tract analysis, we claim that there are substantial grounds to believe that this model of methane hydrate formation applies to the Miocene Transylvanian Basin. Due to the increase of the geothermal gradient as a result of the volcanic activity from the Eastern Carpathians, the clathrates dissociated into methane and freshwater. This process of dilution resulted in a chlorinity anomaly that can be spotted in the formation waters of several gas fields from the Transylvanian Basin

    Understanding Contributions of Divalent Cations in Mineral Carbonation Using Artificial Neural Network

    The roles played by divalent cations (calcium, magnesium and iron) of rock minerals in the efficiency of mineral carbonation have been investigated. Statistical modeling with Artificial Neural Network (ANN) having configuration ANN[17-4-1] shows that carbonation efficiency largely increases as the quantity of calcium content increases. Averagely,there is approximately 5% rise in the original efficiency for 10% increase in the quantity of calcium. This changes to 3.4% and 1.6% increases in efficiency, relative to the original efficiency for 20% and 30% increases in calcium content, respectively. Iron content of minerals offers clear positive correlation to the carbonation efficiency. From the global average, there is approximately 17% rise in the original efficiency for 10% increase in the quantity of iron. This increases to 29% and 41% over the original efficiency for 20% and 30% increases in iron content, respectively.. The influence of magnesium was found to be mainly negatively correlated to carbonation efficiency, after exceeding an unknown threshold. The global average of the efficiency changes with magnesium content results in original efficiency rising by 2% at 10% quantity increase and then reduces by 3% and 9% for 20% and 30% increase in magnesium quantity, respectively, relative to the original efficiency. Thus, iron compounds are found to be most potent of the divalent cations in carbonation reaction while calcium and magnesium content should maintain a threshold ratio with silica content for improved efficiency

    Bosnian Chardaklia House: Abazovic Family House in Donja Koprivna Near Cazin

    In the wide range of vernacular architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian chardaklia house is one of those achievements that with its spatial organization, materialization and external appearance most vividly reflects the nature of Bosnian people, the nature of his family and worldview. This house is an objectified history of man and his family, at the same time as modern a museum whose content testifies to the past and predicts the future. The Bosnian chardaklia house, especially the one realized in the area of Central Bosnia, stands out by the fact that its disposition at the time of the original construction perceives the future, sometimes four generations of the human generation that follows each other. It is a building designed in the way of the functioning of a living organism, so by its nature it is an example of understanding flexibility in architecture and the forerunner of modern understanding of bioclimatic, that is, sustainable architecture. The Abazovic family house is located in the Donja Koprivna village, about 6 km away from the center of Cazin (geographical coordinates: 44º59' 32.13'' N, 15º58' 48.15'' E, Elevation: 396 m). The house was built (1937) by Bajram Abazovic (1892-?), a native of Buzim, who was appointed local imam in Donja Koprivna. It is interesting that this house was “transferred” from the Hodzici village near Krzalic, where it was built and used for several years
