Animal Exercise: A New Evaluation Method
At present, Animal Exercise courses rely too much on teachers' subjective ideas in teaching methods and test scores, and there is no set of standards as a benchmark for reference. As a result, students guided by different teachers have an uneven understanding of the Animal Exercise and cannot achieve the expected effect of the course. In this regard, the authors propose a scoring system based on action similarity, which enables teachers to guide students more objectively. The authors created QMonkey, a data set based on the body keys of monkeys in the coco dataset format, which contains 1,428 consecutive images from eight videos. The authors use QMonkey to train a model that recognizes monkey body movements. And the authors propose a new non-standing posture normalization method for motion transfer between monkeys and humans. Finally, the authors utilize motion transfer and structural similarity contrast algorithms to provide a reliable evaluation method for animal exercise courses, eliminating the subjective influence of teachers on scoring and providing experience in the combination of artificial intelligence and drama education
Development of Recovery and Redundancy Model for Real Time Wireless Networks
The growth in wireless technologies applications makes the necessity of providing a reliable communication over wireless networks become obvious. Guaranteeing real time communication in wireless medium poses a significant challenge due to its poor delivery reliability. In this study, a recovery and redundancy model based on sequential time division multiple access (S-TDMA) for wireless communication is developed. The media access control (MAC) layer of the S-TDMA determines which station should transmit at a given time slot based on channel state of the station. Simulations of the system models were carried out using MATLAB SIMULINK software. SIMULINK blocks from the signal processing and communication block sets were used to model the communication system. The S-TDMA performance is evaluated with total link reliability, system throughput, average probability of correct delivery before deadline and system latency. The evaluation results displayed in graphs when compared with instant retry and drop of frame were found to be reliable in recovering loss packets
Flip Chip Die-to-Wafer Bonding Review: Gaps to High Volume Manufacturing
Flip chip die-to-wafer bonding faces challenges for industry adoption due to a variety of technical gaps or process integration factors that are not fully developed to high volume manufacturing (HVM) maturity. In this paper,flip-chip and wire bonding are compared, then flip-chip bonding techniques are compared to examine advantages for scaling and speed. Specific recent 3-year trends in flip-chip die-to-wafer bonding are reviewed to address the key gaps and challenges to HVM adoption. Finally, some thoughts on the care needed by the packaging technology for successful HVM introduction are reviewed
Effect of Partial Replacement of Coarse Aggregate with Electronic Waste Plastic in Light Weight Concrete
This study assessed the usefulness of the replacement of coarse aggregate partially with electronic waste (e-waste) plastic in lightweight concrete since developing countries have been challenged with management of e-waste as well as high cost of coarse aggregates for concrete production. Coarse aggregates were replaced with e-waste plastic in concrete at 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% for a concrete class of C20. The particle size distribution of the e-waste plastic aggregates was determined as well as the slump, compressive strength, water absorption and bulk density of the concrete. Generally, the slump decreased as the e-waste increased. The compressive strengths decreased for the 5% and 10% replacement of coarse aggregates with e-waste but increased for the 15% and 20% replacement of coarse aggregate with e-waste. 0% water absorption was obtained for the 15% and 20% e-waste content while the 10% e-waste concrete obtained 0.01% and the 5% e-waste obtaining of 0.013% after 28days of curing. The densities of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% e-waste plastic content decreased as compared to the 0% e-waste plastic content. The values of compressive strength obtained showed that coarse aggregate replacements by e-waste plastic at 15% and 20% may be appropriate for lightweight concrete of class C20/25 since compressive strengths ranged between 16.09 Nmm–2 and 22.87 Nmm–2. This implies that partial replacement of coarse aggregate with e-waste plastic may be useful for lightweight concrete as well as helping in eradicating the environment of the menace of e-waste plastic
Impact of COVID-19 Lockdown on Continuation of Treatment among the OPD Geriatric Patients
The aim of the study was to identify the impact of COVID-19 lockdown on continuation of treatment among the OPD geriatric patients. Quantitative research study has been conducted. A descriptive research design and convenience sampling technique were used to pick a total of 100 samples, (n=100). Self-structured socio demographic questionnaire and self structured interview method were used to collect the data in November 2020 at tertiary care hospitals, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. Comparison of three categories of COVID-19 pandemic factors affecting in availing OPD services reveals that the psychological factor has more effect (73%) followed by hospital related factors (68%) and the availability of public transportation and resources (62%) has less effect in availing OPD services among patients during COVID-19 pandemic. Application of chi square test reveals that there is no significant relationship of intensity of COVID-19 pandemic factors affecting in availing OPD services among patients with selected socio demographic variables. These findings suggest that facility for sanitization of hospital premises, facility for social distancing in registration counter, waiting area and other areas of hospital are not quite satisfactory. Factors like availability of public transport, availability of healthcare personnel’s in OPD, adequacy of treatment facility, cost of medical services, availability of diagnostic services, are highly affecting geriatric patients in availing OPD services during COVID-19 pandemic and need to be taken care
Impacts of Terrorism on Biodiversity Management in West Africa Sahel: A Review
Over the past 50 years, a number of homegrown solutions and international development assistance have been initiated and implemented to address the West Africa Sahel region’s biodiversity resources decline. This ranges from indigenous/community led natural resources regeneration and land restoration techniques, funding and technical support in developing protected areas, military aid, specialized training of forest rangers and massive education of populace on biodiversity protection. Terrorist activities have negatively affected the biodiversity management in West Africa Sahel. However, there is a paucity of information about the impacts of terrorist activities on biodiversity management in West Africa. Therefore, this study tries to close this knowledge gap by describing and highlighting the impact of terrorism on biodiversity in West Africa Sahel. The authors used a systematic review of data through search engines like Google scholar, Z-library, Mendeley, Researchgate and Jstor for reports, scientific articles, books, field notes and other already published materials. The authors also consulted videos and media reports on YouTube, France24, PBS news etc. The study highlighted the key impacts of terrorist activities on biodiversity management. Some of these include the kidnaping of foresters, hijacking and controlling the management protected area like the case of Park W, destroying forest/bush fires, the use of explosive and poaching. These activities destroy animals’ habitats and therefore causing biodiversity depletion. The authors recommend the enhancement of the framework of protect areas, enhance the management of conflicts between population around protected areas as some sustainable solutions to biodiversity management. The Sahel states should strengthen their cooperation in building the capacities of the citizens in reducing the viability of terrorism through sustainable green jobs
New Approach to Observer-Based Finite-Time H∞ Control of Discrete-Time One-Sided Lipschitz Systems with Uncertainties
This paper investigates the finite-time H∞ control problem for a class of nonlinear discrete-time one-sided Lipschitz systems with uncertainties. Using the one-sided Lipschitz and quadratically inner-bounded conditions, the authors derive less conservative criterion for the controller design and observer design. A new criterion is proposed to ensure the closedloop system is finite-time bounded (FTB). The sufficient conditions are established to ensure the closed-loop system is H∞ finite-time bounded (H∞ FTB) in terms of matrix inequalities. The controller gains and observer gains are given. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results
Deploying a Deep Learning-based Application for an Efficient Thermal Energy Storage Air-Conditioning (TES-AC) System: Design Guidelines
Facility management and maintenance of the Thermal-Energy-Storage AirConditioning (TES-AC) system is a tedious task at a large scale mainly due to the charging load that can increase energy consumption if needed to be charged at peak hours. Besides, maintenance of TES-AC at a large scale gets complex as it contains many sensor data. By utilizing deep learning techniques on the sensor data, charging load prediction can be made possible, so facility managers can prepare in advance. However, a deep learning-based application will be unusable if it is not deployed in a userfriendly manner where facility managers can benefit from this application. Hence, this research focuses on gathering design guidelines for a deep learning-based application and further validates the design considerations with a developed application for efficient human-computer interaction through qualitative analysis. The approach taken to gather design guidelines demonstrated a positive correlation between expert-suggested features and the user-friendly aspect of the application as 67.08% of participants found the features suggested by experts to be most satisfactory. Furthermore, it evaluates user satisfaction with the advanced developed application for TES-AC according to the gathered design guidelines
Sustainability of Renewable Energy Systems with Special Reference to Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Schemes
It was required to determine relative merits of commonly used renewable energy (RE) systems for which estimation of their individual sustainability percent achievable was chosen as the single criterion assessment tool. The methodology developed for estimating sustainability included identification of individual sustainability indices (SI) and examining the scope of sustainability percent input /kWh power generation for each of SI indices and summing them up estimating total sustainability accrued from respective RE systems. The RE systems studied included photo-voltaic (PV) cells, bio-fuels, on-shore & off-shore wind energy and OTEC schemes. Coal power plant being commercially viable was studied as the referral energy scheme. Nine SI indices identified for study included resource potential, greenhouse gas saving, influence on flora & fauna, effects on human health, land loss aspects, food and potable water security, economy evaluation, and improvement in quality of life from economic growth. Total sustainability achievable showed the highest in OTEC, followed by wind, bio-fuels and PV, respectively. SI index on quality of life showed RE schemes like OTEC & bio-fuels competing equally with coal power plant having poor sustainability with the least power generation cost; whence Hybrid OTEC showed the highest sustainability with high power production cost. Four fold approaches have been suggested for reducing power generation cost of OTEC. (i) Adopting economically viable scheme of not less than 40 MW. (ii) Heating up the working fluid with solar irradiation, terming SOTEC scheme. (iii) Saving cable laying cost, from hydrogen production utilizing the power generated.
