    “M3GAN YANG MEMBADAI”: MENYINGKAP MORAL STATUS POSHUMANISME DALAM FILM M3GAN (2022)

    Superintelligence plays an important role in the development of discourse about posthumanism. In this context, the researcher discussed posthumanism studies in the movie M3GAN (2022). The study focused on the moral status of artificial intelligence embodied robotic prototypes created by humans, namely M3GAN. In other words, how can the protocol system be implemented on M3GAN? Does M3GAN possess moral status regarding suffering, pain, autonomy, interactivity, and adaptivity? How did the humans reveal and interact with this technology in the posthumanism era as depicted in the movie? This article used the posthumanism theory from Robert Pepperell to analyze and answer the research questions. The study used descriptive qualitative data from the dialogue scenes and visual screenshots to represent the analysis results. The results of this research show that artificial intelligence in the form of the M3GAN prototype has moral status, such as autonomy, interactivity, and suffering. It becomes a dystopian reality for the robotic creator. Furthermore, the ethics of artificial intelligence or superintelligence must be unveiled wisely in the implementation.Superintelligence brings the latest discourse of posthumanism theory.     The library service is the backbone of the library. Without services, the collection of library materials cannot be optimally utilized. One of the services provided by the Library and Archives Department of Dumai City is storytelling services. Storytelling service is a service conducted to convey a story through words, pictures, photos, or sound. Challenges arising from the impact of the pandemic have resulted in the library services being less optimal. Nevertheless, the Library and Archives Department of Dumai City strategically conducts activities as a form of prime service to library users through innovative storytelling services. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. Data collection is done through observation and survey, including direct field monitoring and interviews with the research subjects. The research results state that the strategy and innovation of storytelling service activities during the pandemic are effectively carried out online by utilizing social media. When there are policies related to easing activities in the new normal, face-to-face interactions can provide a very interesting impression and receive a very positive response, even when adhering to health protocols

    Abstract: Religious problems in Indonesia are not only limited to major religions but also involve cases at the micro level, such as what happened to the adherents of Masade Islam in the Sangihe Islands. The author focuses on the process of the emergence of Masade Islam in the border area of the Sangihe Islands, the factors that influence its formation, and the application of religious moderation values by Masade Islam adherents. To answer these problems, the author uses a socio-cultural approach as an analytical tool. This research uses the concept of monotheistic religion and the concept of supernatural power understood based on the theory of religious evolution. This research uses historical research methods that include heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The researcher argues that the influence and dominance of religious beliefs in the Masade\u27 Trust developed along with the competition for power and politics in the Sangihe Islands. The dialectic between religion and culture is strong evidence of this influence. The discovery of historical facts that shaped the beliefs of the community known as Masade\u27 reinforces the close relationship between Islam influenced by local culture (local wisdom) as evidenced through the process of rituals and worship performed in the local belief. Although the adherents of masade Islam recognize them as Muslims, the practice of worship is different. This shows that masade Islam is not part of Islam but a religion of belief that has noble local cultural values which also become the axis of their enthusiasm in carrying out a tolerant life in the frame of religious moderation.Abstrak: Permasalahan keberagamaan di Indonesia tidak hanya terbatas pada agama-agama besar, melainkan juga melibatkan kasus-kasus pada tingkat mikro, seperti yang terjadi pada penganut agama kepercayaan Islam Masade di kepulauan Sangihe. Penulis memfokuskan perhatian pada proses munculnya ajaran Islam Masade di kawasan perbatasan Kepulauan Sangihe, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pembentukannya, serta penerapan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama oleh para penganut Islam Masade. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, penulis menggunakan pendekatan sosio-budaya sebagai alat analisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep agama monoteistik dan konsep kekuasaan supernatural yang dipahami berdasarkan teori evolusi agama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yang meliputi heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Peneliti berargumen bahwa pengaruh dan dominasi keyakinan agama dalam Kepercayaan Masade’ berkembang seiring dengan persaingan kekuasaan dan politik di Kepuluan Sangihe. Dialektika antara agama dan budaya menjadi bukti yang kuat atas pengaruh tersebut. Penemuan fakta sejarah yang membentuk kepercayaan masyarakat yang dikenal sebagai Masade menguatkan hubungan yang erat antara Islam yang dipengaruhi budaya lokal (lokal wisdom) yang dibuktikan melalui proses ritual dan ibadah yang dilakukan dalam kepercayaan lokal tersebut. Meskipun penganut Islam masade mengakui mereka sebagai pemeluk Islam, tetapi dalam praktik ibadahnya berbeda. Hal ini menunjukkan Islam masade bukan bagian dari Islam tetapi menjadi agama kepercayaan yang mempunyai nilai-nilai budaya lokal yang luhur yang juga menjadi poros semangat mereka dalam menjalankan kehidupan yang toleran dalam bingkai moderasi beragama

    Pentigraf is a three-paragraph short story produced by a creative writing community called Kampung Pentigraf Indonesia (the Indonesian Pentigraf Village or KPI). By composing Pentigraf, the authors can articulate the social phenomena such as corruption with greater clarity. Since the 1970s, corruption has become a problem in Indonesia. KPI published a Pentigraf anthology entitled Hanya Nol Koma Satu (Only Zero Point One) in 2020 to express concerns about corruption. KPI has more than 3,000 members on Facebook from diverse backgrounds, including female homemakers, who, in this anthology, discuss masculine dominance themes connected to corruption. This study shows how masculine norms and gendered perspectives contribute to the perpetuation of corruption, as articulated through Pentigraf, written by female homemakers. This study gathered the data from fifteen Pentigrafs written by female homemakers. Employing Bourdieu’s theory of masculine domination, this document analysis analyzes the intrinsic structure of pentigraf by homemakers in Hanya Nol Koma Satu to deconstruct how masculine standards correlate with textual representations of corruption. The results show that male characters in the Pentigrafs have the personalities of being desirous and indifferent to the suffering of others because they cling to wealth achievement and supremacy. Pentigraf is a mini-fiction that is not easy to analyze deeply. Nevertheless, it can articulate moral teachings and capture social phenomena.Pentigraf adalah salah satu bentuk fiksi mini yang merupakan kependekan dari cerita pendek tiga paragraf. Pentigraf diproduksi oleh komunitas penulis Kampung Pentigraf Indonesia (KPI). Melalui Pentigraf, para penulis dapat menyuarakan berbagai gejala sosial, termasuk korupsi. Sejak tahun 1970an korupsi telah menjadi permasalahan di Indonesia. KPI menerbitkan kumpulan Pentigraf yang berjudul Hanya Nol Koma Satu pada tahun 2020 untuk mengekspresikan keresahan terhadap korupsi. KPI memiliki lebih dari 3.000 anggota dalam platform Facebook yang terdiri dari berbagai latar belakang, termasuk ibu rumah tangga. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana norma maskulinitas dan perspektif gender berkontribusi pada pelanggengan korupsi, seperti yang diartikulasikan melalui Pentigraf yang ditulis oleh para ibu rumah tangga. Penelitian ini menghimpun data dari lima belas Pentigraf dan mengkaji bagaimana maskulinitas tergambar dalam Pentigraf yang ditulis oleh tujuh ibu rumah tangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan kajian pustaka untuk mengkaji elemen intrinsik dan mengimplementasikan teori Bourdieu terkait dominasi maskulin. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter pria digambarkan memiliki ambisi dan tidak peduli terhadap penderitaan yang dialami oleh sesamanya karena kemelekatan mereka pada kesuksesan dan kekuasaan.
