The Importance of Access to the SCOPUS Database in the Economic Crisis Condition
Data acquisition and delivering information resources to clients are among the most vital functions of libraries. However, current political and economic crisis has imposed unpleasant effects on these functions. In such conditions, selecting information resources becomes an ever more complex task. This research intends to answer the question on whether or not the purchase of Scopus services in such a crisis, which makes the subscription of credible scientific journals much more difficult, is a beneficial choice for Iranian medical libraries. The problem will be answered by analyzing the accessibility to full text articles via “view at publisher” image links in Scopus database. Different studies have already been carried out on the abilities and features of Scopus database in scientometric and citation analysis. However, it seems that current study is the first research to examine the value and importance of existing link for accessing the full-text articles such as "view at publisher" link. This link is one of the remarkable features devised in Scopus which has a special importance for end users. Hence, access ratio to full-text documents cited in articles written by Iranian medical faculties was studied through the "view at publisher" link in Scopus, and also via a link devised in the A-Z list of full-text journals in the Iranian National Medical Digital Library database, available at URL: www.inlm.org, followed by comparing the results obtained through the study. Results showed the ability of Scopus to make full-text articles accessible for users' depending on the type and level of individuals or institutional subscription. Such ability itself could justify the necessity for subscribing to Scopus by the universities of medical sciences. Regardless of other features of Scopus such as scientometric studies, etc., this ability becomes more important when access to some articles depends on paying subscription fee either privately or institutionally. Moreover, this ability provides the end-users to have access to a large volume of free papers. So, Scopus could be introduced as a gateway/portal for an easier access to full-text documents of various databases

Visualizing the Structure of Iranian Medical Science Publications
This paper presents the results of a bibliometric analysis of the Medical Sciences (MS) domains in Iran. Totally 9047 articles indexed in ISI (Thomson Reuters Database) from 1989 to 2008 in December 2008 have been extracted. HistCiteTM applications are used to discover the Iranian publication status during this period. The publication count has grown at an approximate rate of 40.5% per year. We tried to introduce the most productive authors, and cited works. Moreover, distributions of output in journals identified by ISI and research output analysis of different universities were presented. The most influential cited authors and articles in this research were drawn. Finally, the process of the evolution of the medical sciences discipline, and its shift over the period of the research was traced and shown in the map. Using HistCiteTM applications, retrieved articles were analyzed and visualized
E-Government, Trust and Corruption
Governments around the worlds especially in developing countries face with tremendous challenges. High or moderate rate of corruption can be named as one of the most important of these challenges. Corruption and its inefficiency can deviate resources allocation to unproductive sectors of economy. Trust in social networks or within the society has two antithetic effects in deployment of corruption in government and bureaucratic systems. Governments may want to use public trust for eradicating corruption in one hand and by the other hand particularistic trust may cause corruption. Generalized and particularistic trusts have two effects on corruption. E- Government a solution can decrease the harmful effects of particularistic trust extension. This paper wants to introduce and use these two phenomena in the field of public economics by concentrate on corruption and e- Government as a solution
An Evaluation to the Three-Layer ECRM&CRM Performance in Banking Sector, in Order to Help Anti-Money Laundering Systems
Nowadays many businesses have realized the importance of customer relationship systems to help the potential of it to gain new customers, keep old customers , adding value to their products and services by a more effective communication. With further development of information technology, customer relationships is also very important in the field of financial since many of the finance and banking transactions done via internet and physically presence of customers are not required. This situation provides an opportunity for banks to use the implementation of efficient systems of customer relationship to attract customers and gain a competitive advantage over competitors. On the other way, having anti-fraud and anti-money laundering systems, is an important issue for banks and governments that cause normal and secure economic – financial cycle as well as a wide range of trusted clients (large or small, domestic or foreign, etc). For an optimal performance of these systems, we need to have some basic information that are properly collected and analyzed. In this article we have tried to evaluate a number of ECRM&CRM criteria in our banking system and further be investigate which of these criteria might be more effective for use in anti-fraud and anti-money laundering systems to be used later in these systems
A Profitable Sponsored Search Mechanism
Nowadays, the Internet has had a rapid expansion and presence in all areas of the individuals, institutions, companies and organizations lives. This has made large extent of data available so that the users need to access their desired information or services through using search engines. To continue and promote providing services, search engines require a source of income. Sponsored search advertising is the main source of revenue for search engines. In sponsored search, limited areas of the search results page are dedicated to display advertising so that the advertiser pays the advertisement cost only per click. To assign advertising areas, an auction is run among advertisers. Several models have been proposed to hold a sponsored search auction. In this study, a new model is proposed to increase the revenue of the search engine. Evaluated using synthetic data, the results of the ad-supported implementation of the search engine model indicate improved revenue in comparison to existing models
Relationship Between Transformational Leadership and Knowledge Management
If today's organizations are not able to adopt themselves with environmental changes, they will lose the competition. In such a condition, organizations are in need of leaders who are capable of turning their companies into one having more ability to progress and even to survive in those situations. Transformational leaders guide organization from present to the future and apply suitable changes to support the organization's objectives. Besides, knowledge management is a crucial influential factor in helping organizations survive and gain success in such a competitive environment and in this Information Age. Also, considering the fact that leaders play the role of a sample for others, their leadership style is directly influential in organization's tendency and manner of facing processes and steps of knowledge management. Therefore, this article intends to find the relationship between transformational leadership and knowledge management in Alvan Sabet Company. For this purpose, having done a revision of the existing literature on the field, we established five main hypotheses and four sub-hypotheses. To test the research hypotheses we have used questionnaires having been distributed among the population. The population of this research includes all the experts and masters of Alvan Sabet Co. totally being 47 in number. Regarding limitation in population size we have used census method in this research. We've made use of descriptive statistics technique to analyze demographic variables and to investigate the hypotheses, we have used Pearson Solidarity Test and Spearman. The result shows that the correlation between the transformational leadership style and knowledge management has been 0.784 which is considerably high
Building a Syllabic Analyzer for Persian Using Finite State Transducers
Persian follows a concatenative morphology, where new morphemes are generated by chaining different morphemes together to form a new compound word. Whenever, two morphemes bind to form a new morpheme, there is a possibility that the syllables at the morpheme boundaries undergo structural change. This study suggests that these syllabic alterations may be captured using a finite state approach. It further argues that syllabification may be incorporated into the process of lexicon building. This approach allows the syllabification rules to be encoded in the lexical knowledge, when a lexicon is built using the finite state methods. The rules captured here can also assist the processing of syllabic alterations in word boundaries as well. It is particularly useful to process meter in Persian poetry
The Effects of Popularity: An Online Store Perspective
Recently, internet is widely used in our daily life, caused online customer growing rapidly, then the amount of online store rising quickly. Therefore, it is an important issue for online stores to stand out from the crowd, even boost sales and profit. Google Analytics based Temporal-Geospatial Analysis for Web Management: A Case Study of a K-12 Online Resource Website
As Google Analytics becomes increasingly popular, more detailed records of users’ behaviors can be captured and analyzed to better understand the performance of websites. However, current Google Analytics related research usually draws conclusions from rough estimation based on the observation of the dashboard or other basic statistical processing of the data. This study aims to provide a more accurate and informative analysis from both temporal and geospatial perspectives via clustering and GIS application. The results obtained from a resource website case study demonstrate that the proposed method is able to help web managers better examine the temporal effect on users’ visiting patterns based on accurate mathematical computation as well as provides more geographical insight into website performance through the constructed density measure and 3D graphic presentation. By offering in-depth quantitative information relying on mining data from web logs, such a study can help web stakeholders make better decisions on how to maintain and improve the websites, especially adjusting resources by considering temporal fluctuations and inequity in geographical distribution
