A Study on Development of Educational Model Experiment Tool for Structural Design on Plasticity
Recently, the ideal way of an architectural and structural education is posing a problem. The field of structural mechanics is making the basis of structural education. On the other side there are many students with consciousness weak. Up to now, many discussions have been performed.
Main purpose of this study is to propose education method of building structures for raising special knowledge for structural design. So far, educational model experiment tools using mechanoluminescence material has been proposed. In this paper, I conducted an experimental study with the aim of developing tools on plasticity using digital image correlation (DIC).departmental bulletin pape
Caryl Phillips and Diasporic Identities : Analysis on The Final Passage and The Atlantic Sound
Caryl Phillips was born in St. Kitts in 1958. Among contemporary Caribbean writers, Phillips is distinguished by his deep insight into the postcolonial world. Diaspora, which considers the loosened relationships among the people of African descent in postcolonial societies, is one of major themes in Phillip’s works. The idea of diaspora is more widely recognized today since many writers of African descent criticize black essentialism. This paper particularly focuses on diasporic aspects of Caryl Phillips, and argues that he presents contemporary Black Atlantic relationships through his understanding of identity and diaspora, by analyzing his novel, The Final Passage (1985) and his book-length essay, The Atlantic Sound (2000).departmental bulletin pape
Survey on the preparation of New Year's dishes and their consumption rate
We conducted a questionnaire survey on the preparation and eating of zoni, a soup containing rice cakes, and iwaizakana sanshu, which are three kinds of celebratory dishes (sweet black beans, salted herring roe, and teriyaki small dried sardines). Survey respondents were students at our college .The results showed that 82% of the students did not prepare or help to prepare New Year’s dishes, indicating that they are usually not involved in preparation of New Year’s dishes. Zoni was eaten at the highest rate on New Year’s Day (82%), and this percentage dropped as the days passed. Because most of the respondents were from the Tokai region, 86% of zoni was clear soup with square-shaped rice cakes. The percentage of respondents who ate iwaizakana was 61% for sweet black beans, 54% for salted herring roe, and 56% for teriyaki small dried sardines. Some of these dishes were prepared at home and some were commercially cooked and sold dishes, and the rates of the home and commercially prepared dishes were about the same.departmental bulletin pape
Survey on nutrients and food additive labeled on commercially sold rice balls(2)
Continuing from our previous study, we conducted another survey on the nutrients and food additives indicated on the labels of eight varieties of commercially prepared rice balls sold at convenience stores. Nutrient information on the labels included calorie amounts, protein, fat, carbohydrate, and sodium chloride equivalent, which had respective nutritional values of 176-228 kcal, 2.7-6.7 g, 0.9-6.0 g, 35.2-43.9 g, and 0.9-1.9g. An average of 6.3 kinds of food additives were found to be used, among which seasonings such as pH adjusters (87.5%) and amino acids (71.9%) were frequently seen on the label.departmental bulletin pape
A study on development of "Comparing Play" to design education
We focused on the similarity between “Abstract Approach” in design work and “Comparing Play” in early childhood. Both of them use imagination, and train imagination. So we thought that it would be possible to utilize the “Comparing Play” as an eective method of design education. To verify this hypothesis, we conducted an experiment study using a toy called “LaQ”. As a result of the investigation, it was found that the type of “Abstract Approach” of subjects can be judged by analyzing the process of “Comparing Play” and the deliverables.departmental bulletin pape
Efforts to utilize learning experiences in higher education for real society
This paper describes the improvement project of the Co-op store at Gifu city women's college by students majoring in architecture and interior. The purpose is to refer to the possibility of social contributions by students, by means of describing the learning experiences in higher education. Techniques for making drawings and model making students studying at college were also utilized in meetings and making the proposal panels of size A1. Then, they made a presentation to the client and users and held group discussions in order to deepen the understanding of the participants and receive opinions from different points of view. After that, we actually implemented the improvement plan. This activity received the grand prize and a category prize at the University Co-op Tokai Block in 2018.departmental bulletin pape
