The culculated leg joint torque's behavior during vaulting when the COP is assumed to be fixed.

    Get PDF
The aim of this study was to describe the culculated leg joint torque's behavior during vaulting when the centre of pressure (COP) was assumed to be fixed. The subject vaulted on the springboard used in the vaulting of gymmnastics. The board reaction force (BRF) acting on the gymnast was calculated by subtracting the inertial force of the springboard from the ground reaction force. The ankle, knee and hip joint torque were calculated by assuming the COP was fixed in two ways. The ball of foot and the centre between toe and heel were used for the fixed COP. There were large difference between two type of calculated joint torque. This suggests that the accuracy of the COP is important for calculate the joint torque.departmental bulletin pape

Impression of screen and color decoration on it

    Get PDF
The relations between the effects of coloration of touch panel interface designs on operators and their generations were discussed. 15 interface screens used in the experiments were prepared based on the DBV and the brightness of the screen. 5 different DBV values that is from 0 to 4 and 3 different brightnesses of screens that is light, medium, and dark are used for the coloration. In the experiment, simple tasks that can be done with skills base process were used to investigate the effect on simple operations. As a result, the average of "number of incorrect answers" and "number of timeouts" followed on falling and the values of brightnesses of screen of DBV=3 became fewer for younger subjects.Furthermore, the difference between the value of younger subjects and the value of the older subjects, It is bigger when using the DBV=0 screens and DBV=2 screens, young subjects were able to operate it correctly.departmental bulletin pape

Development of Educational Model Experiment Tool for Structural Design : -Influence of Maximum Stress and Stress Speed to Luminescence-

    Get PDF
Recently, the ideal way of an architectural and structural education is posing a problem. The field of structural mechanics is making the basis of structural education. On the other side there are many students with consciousness weak. Up to now, many discussions have been performed.Main purpose of this study is to propose education method of building structures for raising special knowledge for structural design. This paper proposes educational model experiment tool using mechanoluminescence material as the new education method of building structures, and reports the result of influence of maximum stress and stress speed to luminescence.departmental bulletin pape

The Primal Scene of Human Heart -The World of Haiku and Haiga-

    Get PDF
This paper traces the historical background of haiku (traditional Japanese short poems) and haiga (seasonal picture-poem of Japan) in the first stage and analyzes the mechanism of the primal scene of human heart from the various aspects of philosophical approach, literal feature, psychological hypothesis, and architectural style in the second stage. According to the historical map of haiku poets, we pick up the famous haiku and haiga created by the outstanding haiku poets in Edo period, that is, the three haiku masters; Basho Matsuo, Buson Yosa, and Issa Kobayashi who founded the main stream of traditional short poems in Japan in the third stage. In the last stage, we also refer to the significance and evaluation for the primal image of haiku and haiga.departmental bulletin pape

Towards exploring a suitable way to validate measurements in second language acquisition studies : Interpretive arguments for validation of the lexical richness measure S

    Get PDF
The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept of validity in tests and measurements and to investigate several approaches to validation through a survey of previous studies and discussion. Next, it explores a suitable approach to validate the lexical richness measure S, which is proposed by Kojima (2010). S is developed to assess the productive vocabulary of learners in their written or spoken texts. Validity is considered as an integrated evaluative judgement of the degree to which empirical evidence and theoretical rationales support the adequacy and appropriateness of inferences and actions based on test scores or other modes of assessment (Messick, 1989). The argument-based approach of Kane (2006) is employed, and interpretive arguments for the validation of S are discussed.departmental bulletin pape

Studies on the sports nutrition management using a health behavior theory of university athletes

    Get PDF
In the present study, we established an appropriate target nutrient intake and a sports nutrition management plan individually for six players aiming to gain weight by the Fall League, and implemented this nutrition program for 9 months using the health behavior theory. The results showed that four of the players achieved the target nutrient intake for energy and protein, while the other two players came close to the target levels but failed to reach them. As for weight gain, four of the six players achieved their target body weight, but the other two had no change in body weight. Fat-free mass increased in all players, however. The increased body weight as well as vitamins B1, B2and C intake observed in the present study were thought to demonstrate the effect of sports nutrition management.departmental bulletin pape

Support of cure for "hi-e" (cold-feeling)

    Get PDF
"Hi-e" is cold-feeling and often suffers young women. This report aims to support patients suffering from "hi-e". 16 volunteers with "hi-e" tried to change their habits according to manual. Before the trial, their habits were checked by questionnaire. They chose some items after explanation by the authors. The items included exercise, diet, sleep, bath, relaxation, clothes, and others. They tried the items and filled up check-sheets daily for 3 months. Authors received the check-sheets from the patients each month. After 3-months trial, all patients reduced suffering parts, suffering time, or suffering grade. 2 of 16 felt no "hi-e" after trial. Good effects were gained by exercises, increase food intake, hot drink, ginger, clothes, or bath. The effect of an item differed from person to person. We suggest the daily check and some inquiries for supporting patient's effort to reduce "hi-e".departmental bulletin pape

Utterances of `Communication Skill' as a Discourse: A Preliminary Research for Deconstruction of a Dominant Discourse

    Get PDF
Recently, a growing number of young people, especially college students, are encountering the term `communication skill'. Most of the students who start participating in recruiting activities tend to be instructed to develop their communication skills by various kinds of media such as newspaper or magazine articles. At the same time, they seem to be inclined to be preoccupied with the image or illusion the phrase could create. This paper deals with a discourse of `communication skill' instead of pursuing any effective method to have students acquire the ability. We attempt to articulate a diversity of utterances or discourse practices which would help construct a dominant discourse. This preliminary survey of a particular discourse is one step towards deconstructing powerful discourses that could force us to think or act against our own will.departmental bulletin pape
