Studies on the Materials of Processed Foods : Effects of Red Pepper on the Formation of Konnyaku (3)
Get PDFIn order to find materials for the inhibition of the gel formation by the red pepper in konnyaku were experimented with additive.Sodium Chloride (NaCl) was the most effective additional material in the gel formation of konnyaku in which included the red pepper. Our previous research was showed the different ferrous levels between two red peppers of Japanese and Korean ones. As the cation in red peppers were disturbed the gelation of the glucomannan in konnyaku, the anion in material were needed for making the konnnyaku paste and the quantity of elastic force by the glucomannann in the good food processing.departmental bulletin pape
Warm vegetable and short exercise do not increase energy metabolism
Get PDFIn order to prevent "hi-e"- cold feeling-, warm vegetable and light/short exercise were examined to 9 women. Oxygen consumption was tested before and after 3 kinds of examination. 1) Eating 100 g of warm vegetable (radish-daikon, carrot-ninjin,and green leaves-komatuna) stewed in Japanese flavor, 2) rise and down step for 3 min with 500 g –weight on each hand, and 3) eating vegetable following rise and down step. After 5 min, none of three examinations increased oxygen consumption compared with that before the examinations. Combination of warm vegetable and exercise did not change the oxygen consumption compared with warm vegetable alone nor with exercise alone. They were divided into five groups. Each group consists of six students of fashion design and fashion business courses, makes their own concepts, trend theme and a series of coordinated cloths. After the event their attitudes during the project ware investigated for the steps of selecting materials, designing the dresses, pattern making and constructing. No full text"Design" is the method of proposing better lifestyle by the image, plan, and model. We think that the design leads to social philanthropy and regional philanthropy. Therefore, we have tackled many projects for regional philanthropy as a designer. This time, we participated in "Gifu Berry" project, the product development of new tablet candy. This project aims at activating local agriculture. We designed the package graphic of "Gifu Berry" in cooperation with students. Our result was evaluated, and attracted attention from some media. The New Rich in the Party-State China : - A case study on their consumption patterns
Get PDFThis paper attempts to analyze the relationship between the party-state and the new rich by examining China's ownership system in the economic reform since 1978, and chart some fundamental issues concerning the consumption patterns of the China's new rich. It starts by laying out issues which pertain to the social basis and the formation of the new rich, before turning to examine the specific role of consumption in this process. Survey findings will be used to shed some light on the attitude towards the new rich, before moving on to examine the likelihood of the new rich whose subjective identity is constructed upon distinctive consumption patterns and accompanying values. Research on dietary intake of women college student : - Physical status and assessment of dietary intake -
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to examine the association between dietary intake of women college students and their physical status. In our study, we conducted a survey using a questionnaire of food frequency survey method. The results showed a significant difference of fat energy ratio between physical status and dietary intake. Fat energy ratio in obese group resulted higher than lean and normal groups. On the other hand, there were no significant differences in other nutrients. Our study suggests physical status receives more affect of fat energy ratio than nutrient intake and food intake. Especially, fat energy ratio is high in obese group.departmental bulletin pape

Current trends and issues of lexical diversity studies in productive texts of English learners
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to examine the reliability and validity of widely used lexical diversity (LD) measures including type/token ratio (TTR), standardized TTR, Guiraud Index, Herdan Index, D, HD-D, and Measure of Textual Lexical Diversity (MTLD) through a survey of previous studies and discussion. LD refers to the range of vocabulary within a text and avoidance of repetition; it is often considered to reflect the vocabulary proficiency or productive lexical richness of a learner. A serious problem with LD measures is that they are dependent on text length, which indicates a lack of reliability. Even when LD measures overcome the problem of text length, researchers need to carefully examine their validity as developmental measures of the productive vocabulary of second language (L2) learners. This paper also discusses the limitation of LD measures and suggests directions for further studies.departmental bulletin pape
Study on the survey research of the apparel and fashion industry in Northern Europe
Get PDFRecently, the design of Northern Europe, or the Scandinavian design has come to be accepted by consumers in Japan rapidly. To analyze the reason, I visited three countries - Norway, Sweden, Finland -in Northern Europe on a business trip in August 2012. I visited 4 typical fashion apparel companies in each country. Then I made a market research (Oversea trip organized by Japan Association of Specialists in Textile and Apparel). I examined them. I also examined TV programs of northern Europe which were broadcasted then. From them, I found that the features of Scandinavian design are linear, no decorative and simple. This kind of design is rare in Japan, so that it is very attractive to Japanese consumers and it has been accepted by this.departmental bulletin pape
