The evaluation of interior accessories and plants
Get PDFThe evaluation of interior accessories and plants was investigated to consider the influence which interior accessories and plants have on the degree of satisfaction to living environment. The interior accessories evaluated highly were wall clocks, and that whose evaluation was low were what someone wears, such as a bag and a hat. Although the influence by the opinion over fanciness and practicality in the evaluation to interior accessories used for the ornament and display of the room, such as an ornament, a stuffed animal and a photograph, was suggested, influence on evaluation to a clock or clothing ornaments was not detected. In the evaluation to various interior plants, there was a difference between objects. The influence by the viewpoint of evaluation was also suggested.departmental bulletin pape

Research on food awareness and dietary intake of women college students
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to conduct a questionnaire survey about dietary intake and food awareness of women college students and is to examine the association between them. Results of the investigation show that the association between the food awareness and food groups was observed in cereals, dairy products, beans, bean products, vegetables and fruits. In these food groups, those who are aware of food intake resulted in greater intake than those who are not. However, no significant difference was observed in salt. Our results suggest that the awareness of certain food groups except for salt increased food intake amount. A Study of Branding Strategy and Revitalization in Imabari Towel District
Get PDFImabari, Ehime is a towel production district with the history more than 110 years, and two major production districts of the towels in Japan equaling Osaka Sensyu. However, after the 1990s, the production district became impoverished by the inflow of a cheap overseas product and the overseas transfer of manufacturing industry. How did the Imabari towel production district overcome this situation? How did they accomplish today's success to be said to be "miraculous revival"? A research about color decoration of web design
Get PDFColor decoration on interface of websites are discussed. Authors, a parameter called DBV that affect the operation of the touch panel interface before was revealed. Therefore, a research for application to the DBV color design of the interface of websites was conducted. In the research we investigated the DBV of 30 corporate websites. Result of the analysis, the number of colors used in the interface decoration was found that there is a correlation between of the DBV. Contrasting the Orality of `Creative Thought' with the Potential Violence of `Mechanized Thought': Reading The Bias of Communication by Harold A. Innis
Get PDFWe cannot deny that we have the tendency to get into mechanized thought, a particular way of thinking in spite of trying to think freely. In this paper, we discuss the dichotomy of `place / space' presented by Michel de Certeau. Here, the focus is on media and communication studies, especially referring to Harold A. Innis and Marshall McLuhan. We propose a hypothesis that `literacy' is profoundly intertwined with the concept of `place' which is constructed of well-ordered knowledge and information, but eventually produces the power to dominate our way of thinking by making our knowledge rigid. Status report on exposure to environmental tobacco smoking among young women
Get PDFExposure to environmental tobacco smoking (ETS) is associated with a range of adverse health outcomes. College students are at risk of exposure to ETS in both the home and the workplace of part-time job. Comprehensive smoke-free legislation has been implemented in many countries except Japan. This study was conducted to evaluate the current status of secondhand smoke among female college students. Fifty five female students participated in this study. They completed a self-administered questionnaire about their ETS. Furthermore, urinary cotinine level was semi-quantified using NicCheck I TEST STRIPS. They are exposed to secondhand smoke from family members and staffs at work based on the questionnaire. The number of urinary cotinine positive cases were higher in students with ETS than without ETS, however this association was not significant. A level of discomfort to ETS was observed to be higher in urinary cotinine positive students.
