This research aims to improve students\u27 critical thinking skills in listening to observation reports about certain cultural objects presented in video form. Based on the phenomena that occur, students are less critical in thinking and tend to look for shortcuts in critical thinking. The shortcut in question is that students prefer to describe the objects they observe according to the results of their research on online sites, so that the content and results of listening can be said to be different. The formulation of the problem in this research is how students\u27 critical thinking capacity is when listening to videos. Learning is carried out using interactive media. The interactive media used is the wordwall application. The method used was classroom action research which lasted 2 cycles. This research began by testing the initial conditions, namely students\u27 critical thinking abilities based on the results of watching videos. In cycle I it is related to the results of work in the listening process. The sample used was 36 students in class The research results obtained were that classical completion in the initial condition test of students\u27 critical thinking ability only reached 11.11%, in cycle I critical thinking ability was 30.55% and in cycle II critical thinking ability was 80.55. Thus, classroom action research to improve students\u27 critical thinking skills in listening using wordwall learning media was declared successful

This study analyzes the meaning of the lyrics of the song “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames” by Lorna Shore using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. The main focus of the research is to describe the denotative, connotative, and mythological meanings contained in the song lyrics. This qualitative study employs data collection techniques including documentation, audio-visual materials, and field notes. The analysis results demonstrate that the song lyrics are rich with literal meanings, symbolic expressions, and ideological narratives that are unconsciously accepted by society as truth. The findings strengthen the relevance of Barthes’ theory in deconstructing the structure of meaning in modern music lyrics, especially within the deathcore genre, and broaden the discourse on interpreting lyrics as a medium of emotional and cultural communication

The current study found that the COVID-19 pandemic isolation impacted the academic performance of most participants with varied degrees and graduate students in Computer Science and Math. With the option of self-study, online education keeps students on track. This paper aimed to investigate the academic performance impact of graduate program students in the fields of computer science, math, and information systems on online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 89 responses were retrieved. The 71 (79.78%) responses came from students at an university in Raiwind, Lahore, Pakistan, and the 18 (20.22%) responses came from students at an university in Jakarta, Indonesia. We discovered that the essential issue of online education was providing students and instructors with easy access to interactive study materials such as video learning. Another significant challenge was the availability of an internet connection, as online learning depended on it. During the COVID-19 pandemic, most students get high course grades (35.96%) and maintain steady course grades (29.21%) in online learning, with some even achieving very good course grades (17.98%). Only a few students (12.36%) and very few (4.49%) received lower grades

Analisis Disparitas Indeks Pembangunan Manusia Kabupaten/Kota Provinsi Jawa Tengah

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
The standard of operating procedure (SOP) is a laboratory activity method and must meet the criteria of good laboratory practice (GLP) and other stipulations of valid legislation. The article aims to establish ownership/lack of the SOP of a laboratory that has a public high school laboratory in the city of Yogyakarta. It uses descriptive research. The purpose of descriptive research is to describe images systematically. The research was conducted at Yogyakarta State High School in June 2022—data collection techniques via observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The forms of the instruments used were observation sheets, interview sheets, and checklists, where the instruments had been validated. Samples in this study are random sampling, SMA A, SMA B, and SMA C. This research subject is the head of a high school biology lab in Yogyakarta. The study showed that high school biology LABS A, B, and C already had the SOP implemented, but there was still a lack of it, and this led to increased safety principles. School A has as many as 9 SOPs, school B has as many as 10 SOPs, and school C has as many as 8 SOPs. Out of all three schools, only school B had SOP malfunction of lab equipment. Presumably, school B has the most complete SOP than schools A and C
