Digital Translation Literacy of Undergraduate EFL Students
Abstract
Literacy is the representation of language competency, individual skill in reading, writing, speaking, and managing. In digital era, literacy can be represented through the use of Google translation tool as one of the most popular tools among EFL students, either for their translation assignment or improve foreign language skills. This study aimed to explore undergraduate EFL student’s digital literacy by using Google translate as a tool to do translation. Qualitative descriptive method is used to present the data comprehensively. The data collection begin from problem identification, field observation, interview, and study the document related to their assignment. This research used purposive sampling which involved 31 EFL undergraduate students of Muhammadiyah Tangerang University. This research shows that EFL undergraduate students are able to operate and use Google translate effectively in assisting assignment. Google translate tool can eliminate the learning’s gap among different level of student’s English competency especially in vocabulary mastery and time management, the research also shows student’s digital literacy through Google translate not only for written translation, but also orally and can be used in diversity functions, such as translating the language in sentence form and learning how to pronounce English words.

Relevansi Pertanggungjawaban Pidana atas Culpability Kecerdasan Buatan (Artificial Intelegence)
Peran kecerdasan buatan sangat besar dalam kehidupan manusia terutama saat ini kecerdasan buatan juga menggunakan data pribadi pemegang ponsel pintar untuk meramalkan perilaku manusia. Hukum Pidana bertujuan untuk melindungi dengan mencegah orang melakukan perbuatan pidana dan menghukum orang yang melakukan tindak pidana, tentu dengan prosedur hukum yang telah ditentukan. Selama ini hukum pidana hanya bertujuan untuk menghukum manusia yang memiliki kesadaran dan dengan adanya kesadaran manusia tersebut dapat diukur kemampuan pertanggungjawaban pidana dan alasan penghapus pidana. Akan tetapi bagaimana jika kecerdasan buatan yang melakukan tindak pidana? Apakah hukum pidana dapat menjangkau pertanggungjawaban pidana? Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normatife. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana hukum pidana di Indonesia mengatur kecerdasaan buatan saat ini dan bagaiamana Pertanggungjawaban pidana yang dilakukan oleh kecerdasan buatan. Hasil penelitian ini meyebutkan bahwa perlu adanya regulasi pidana terkait kecerdasan buatan yang mampu menghukum pelaku dan melindungi kepentingan pengembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan serta diperlukannya konsep pertanggungjawaban pidana pengganti untuk menghukum pelaku kejahatan kecerdasan buatan dan melindungi Masyarakat dari bahaya kecerdasan buatan
TEKNOPOLITIK PEMIMPIN FEDERASI SEPAKBOLA INDONESIA DALAM IMPLEMENTASI TEKNOLOGI VIDEO ASSISTANT REFEREE
The Indonesian Football Federation or PSSI has been trying to implement video assistant referee (VAR) since the technology was introduced in 2018. The technology has the potential to improve the quality of referee decisions and produce fair matches. There are several obstacles that make PSSI have to postpone the implementation of VAR until 2024. This research aims to explain the chronology of PSSI facing various obstacles to implementing VAR technology. The research findings show the role of PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir as the holder of the political determinism aspect of technology. Technological determinism is not the main driver of change in society
The Effect of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) on Students’ Motivation, Engagement, and Mathematics Performance
This study aims to analyze the impact of implementation the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model on students’ learning motivation, learning engagement, and mathematics learning outcomes in partially and simultaneously. This research employed a quantitative approach. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students in elementary schools in Kebumen District, totaling 1,664 students. A sample of 255 students was selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The hypotheses were tested using non-parametric statistical methods, including the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Mann Whitney Test, and Median Test. The results showed that: (1) there was a positive impact of the implementation of TGT on learning motivation, engagement, and mathematics learning outcomes in elementary school students as indicated by the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test significance value of 0.000; and (2) simultaneously, the implementation of the TGT model also had a significant effect on students’ motivation, activeness, and mathematics learning outcomes, with a p-value of 0.000. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers apply the TGT model as an alternative strategy to enhance student motivation, engagement, and academic performance in mathematics learning. Further research may explore the integration of TGT with digital learning media or its long-term effects on students’ cognitive and social development
Pengaruh Faktor Air Semen Terhadap Bata Ringan Interlock Menggunakan Pasir Sungai Progo
Lightweight interlock brick is an innovation brick consisting of fine aggregate, cement, water and foam agent. The material is then mixed with a certain composition that is determined so as to obtain quality lightweight brick results, there are several factors considered in the mixture, namely the content of the ratio of water weight to the total weight of cement in the mixture called the cement water Factor, lightweight interlock bricks that have the advantage of having a light weight and interlock on the brick will lock with other bricks. Progo river sand fine aggregate is used to utilize local river sand.The objective of this study was to determine the effect of variation of cement water Factor on the compressive strength of interlock brick using Progo river sand. Testing the compressive strength of lightweight interlock bricks was carried out on test specimens with variations in cement water Factor 0.4 ; 0.5 ; 0.6 ; 0.7 which were cut into cubes with a size of 100 mm x 100 mm x 100 mm, according to the requirements of SNI 03-0349-1989. Testing lightweight brick interlock tested compressive strength at the age of 28 days.
Results of the compressive strength of lightweight interlock brick showed the value of each successive variation of 1.795 MPa, 2.435 MPa, 2.1 MPa, 1.35 MPa. The highest compressive strength value and meets SNI 03-0349-1989 at FAS 0.5 variation with an average compressive strength of 2.435 MPa. Interlock lightweight brick category included in Class IIB in the weight category 900-1100 kg / m3. The water absorption of all variations of interlock lightweight brick is less than 25%
Micro-Teaching and Collaborative Learning: A Synergy for Developing Student-Teacher Performance and Collaborative Skills
Micro-teaching, one of the valuable advancements in teacher training, has become a tool for student-teachers to achieve professional teaching skills and foster deeper teaching knowledge. Collaborative skills, considered one of the 21st-century skills, have been identified as an indicator of a successful life. Therefore, Collaborative learning as a teaching approach where students work together on tasks or projects can help develop collaborative skills. Equally important, this research investigates how collaborative learning impacts student-teacher performance and collaborative skills development in micro-teaching classrooms, identifying factors contributing to successful teaching practice. This study employs qualitative research using a case study design by collecting data through questionnaires, documentation, and peer observation. The researchers analyzed 70 student-teachers from the micro-teaching class at Universitas Tidar who had already completed the teaching practice. Descriptive qualitative techniques are used to analyze the data to gain a deeper understanding of the results through data condensation, display, and conclusions. As a result, researchers expect to find that collaborative learning significantly enhances student teaching practice performance in the micro-teaching classroom. Furthermore, students could enhance communication, teamwork, management, problem-solving skills, and active participation during the collaborative learning process
Identifikasi Motivasi Belajar Siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD/MI) Di Era Merdeka Belajar
Motivasi belajar merupakan aspek penting yang harus dimiliki siswa. Namun kenyataannya bahwa motivasi belajar siswa masih ditemukan bermasalah. Dengan adanya penerapan kurikulum Merdeka, harapannya motivasi belajar siswa menjadi lebih baik. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru kelas V di MI Darusholihin Dompu bahwa Kurikulum Merdeka sudah mulai diterapkan. Dengan diterapkannya kurikulum Merdeka ini akan dapat memberikan dampak yang lebih baik terutama berkaitan dengan capaian siswa dalam pembelajaran. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi motivasi belajar siswa di era Merdeka belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deksriptif kualitatif. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa yang sudah diterapkan kurikulum Merdeka di Darusholihin Dompu yakni kelas 1,3,4,5 yang berjumlah 105 siswa. Akibat populasi lebih dari 100 maka sampel dipilih secara random yakni kelas 5. Instrument yang digunakan adalah angket, Analisis data menggunakan rumus persentase dan hasil perhitungan akan ditentukan kategori yang terdiri dari kategori sangat tinggi, tinggi, sedang, kurang dan sangat kurang. Adapun hasil penelitian bahwa persentase motivasi belajar siswa kriteria sangat baik sebesar 40%, kategori baik sebesar 30%, kategori cukup baik sebesar 30% dan kategori kurang baik sebesar 0
Analisis Penerapan Teori Sosial Emosional Pada Prestasi Belajar Siswa Sekolah Dasar
Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana penerapan teori sosial emosional berdampak pada kemampuan belajar siswa di sekolah dasar. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui Teknik survey dan wawancara mendalam dengan siswa dan pendidik, pola hubungan yang kuat antara prestasi belajar dan interaksi sosial emosional terungkap. Siswa yang memiliki kematangan sosial emosional yang baik dan merasa nyaman dalam lingkungan sosialnya cenderung menunjukkan kemajuan yang lebih besar dalam prestasi belajar mereka. Selain itu, guru mengatakan bahwa siswa yang memiliki keterampilan sosial yang baik lebih terlibat dalam belajar, membuat lingkungan kelas yang lebih baik, dan meningkatkan kerja sama antar siswa. Dukungan sosial dan pembelajaran sangat bergantung pada empati, menurut analisis kualitatif. Dukungan ini membantu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang baik dan menciptakan suasana kelas yang positif. Hasil ini meningkatkan pemahaman tentang bagaimana menerapkan teori sosial emosional untuk meningkatkan kemampuan belajar siswa. Serta implikasinya terhadap pengembangan program pendidikan sosial emosional disekolah. Kesimpulan menegaskan bahwa memperhatikan aspek sosial emosional siswa memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pencapaian tujuan pendidikan
Why is Chemistry Education? Exploring the Motivation of Student Choices
Learning motivation is critical to educational success, influencing students\u27 engagement, persistence, and overall performance. Despite its importance, motivation determines students\u27 choices for future careers and struggles in participating in learning activities. The aim was to characterize students\u27 chemistry learning motivation in detail using the Academic Motivation Scale - Chemistry (AMS-Chemistry). This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design. The qualitative approach allows an in-depth exploration of personal experiences and perceptions of learning motivation in chemistry education. The AMS-Chemistry instrument consists of 28 statement items that measure aspects of amotivation, three types of extrinsic motivation, and three types of intrinsic motivation. The results show that the motivation profile to learn Chemistry in Chemistry Education students using the AMS-Chemistry instrument on the amotivation subscale tends to disagree (55,46%). On intrinsic motivation, the to know subscale tends to agree (65,80%) strongly, the to accomplish subscale has a high score on strongly agree (48,85%) responses, and the to experience subscale tends to respond strongly agree (35,34%). Extrinsic motivation includes the external regulation subscale tending to strongly agree (55,17%) and the introjected regulation subscale having a high score on strongly agree (62,36%) responses. The identified regulation subscale has a strongly agree (68,97%) response tendency.
 
DETERMINANTS OF FOOD SECURITY AMONG INDONESIAN FARMING HOUSEHOLDS
The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) shows an increase in Indonesia\u27s food security from 2021 to 2022. However, this increase does not yet indicate better Indonesian food security because this increase is still lower than the global average and the Asia Pacific average. The food security conditions of farming households could be a solution considering the importance of farming household food security which can deliver an impact in maintaining economic stability and reducing dependence on the market. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the food security of farming households. The model used is Robust Regression since the Normality and Heteroscedasticity assumptions were failed. Data were taken from IFLS wave 5. Based on the results, it shows that the variables of age, gender, home ownership status, cooking fuels, electricity use and house location influence the food security of farming households. While, the variables of head of household’s education, availability of toilets and water sources have no effect on the food security of farming household
