Final technical report : digital learning innovations II
This design-based research is the second phase of the Digital Learning Innovations (DLI) project. It aims to scale up the Coder-Maker professional learning model in Lebanon, with a focus on improving the quality of teaching for underserved, marginalized, and at-risk youth, particularly girls. Coder-Maker is an evidence-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) learning program which is designed around a problem-oriented pedagogical approach. Conceived to transform traditional learning, it provides much more than coding and making skills with a transformative framework that enables a holistic approach to learning, and to personal and professional growth

Leveraging data for gender equality : lessons from IDRC data initiatives
French version available in IDRC Digital Library: Mettre les données au services de l'égalité des genres : les leçons tirées des initiatives du CRDI en matière de données de rechercheData can change the course of a woman's life. The registered birth of a girl ensures her legal identity and enables her to access public services, such as healthcare, education, and social protection. Better data about her schooling and home life, for example, can reveal the obstacles that prevent her from pursuing her education, such as household chores, menstruation stigma, early marriage or pregnancy. Data can capture structural inequalities in wages and improve labour market opportunities for women, especially those from minority backgrounds. At the same time, gaps in data can also impact the lives of women. For example, the lack of data on sexual harassment or childcare responsibilities can make these issues invisible to authorities. With the rise of artificial intelligence, historical biases in data can impede a woman's chances to acquire financial services or procurement contracts. In short, gender data are fundamental to fight for gender equality, address systemic challenges and ultimately benefit economies and society
