Destroying Hoaxes by Framing the Justice of the Qur’an
Abstract: Hoaxes are a serious challenge in the information age that can damage social order. In the context of Islam, the Qur'an provides guidance on justice and truth that are relevant to countering hoaxes. This study aims to explore the concept of justice in the Qur'an as a strategic framework in overcoming the phenomenon of the spread of hoaxes. This study uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method of the verses of the Qur'an related to justice and truth. In addition, this study reviews literature and case studies on the spread of hoaxes and the application of Qur'anic values in communication. This study found that the concept of justice in the Qur'an not only includes balance in upholding the truth, but also preventing the spread of slander and hoaxes through the principle of “tabayyun” as stated in QS Al- Hujurat: 6. The justice framing strategy based on Qur'anic values shows significant potential in countering hoaxes through an approach that emphasizes honesty, verification of information, and social welfare. The study also identified the effectiveness of implementing these values in digital literacy campaigns and Islamic communication. An approach based on Qur'anic justice values can be an effective strategy to combat hoaxes. The implementation of this framework not only improves public information literacy but also strengthens moral and spiritual values in communication
Innovations in Parental Involvement for Educational Improvement: A 2020–2025 Evidence Synthesis
Parental involvement is widely recognized as a key determinant of children’s academic achievement, motivation, and socio-emotional development, yet empirical evidence on concrete and scalable strategies remains fragmented. This study addresses this gap by conducting a structured literature review of 63 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2020 and 2025, focusing on empirical, English-language studies in primary and secondary education. A structured coding framework and data-extraction matrix served as the main research instruments, and thematic synthesis combined with descriptive mapping was used to analyze patterns, mechanisms, and contextual differences. Findings converge into five clusters of innovation: programmatic interventions, technology-enabled access, multi-channel communication systems, shared governance, and targeted outreach. Across these clusters, three cross-cutting mechanisms emerged capability building, relationship infrastructure, and cultural–contextual alignment which provide conceptual coherence and help explain why particular strategies succeed in different settings. The study’s contribution lies in offering a theoretically informed synthesis that links post-2020 innovations to established frameworks on family–school partnerships, including Epstein’s overlapping spheres of influence, Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory, and the CAPE model of engagement. Practically, the review highlights low-cost, contextually sensitive strategies that schools can adopt to strengthen parent–school partnerships, from parenting programs and structured communication routines to inclusive governance structures and culturally responsive outreach. Policy implications include the need to invest in equitable digital access, systematic communication infrastructures, and mechanisms that position families as active partners in decision-making. Overall, the review provides an integrated roadmap for institutionalizing more equitable and sustainable parental engagement in education

Mapping Food Insecurity: Spatial Modelling of Undernourishment Prevalence in Indonesia using Geographically Weighted Regression
Undernourishment is a major global issue, with significant impact observed in Indonesia. A method of assessing the prevalence of energy deficiency resulting from inadequate nutrition is through the Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU) index. From 2019 to 2022, Indonesia's PoU increased gradually, reaching 10.21% in 2022, indicating growing undernourishment and unstable food availability. This study aims to utilize Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) to identify and analyze the factors contributing to undernourishment. The data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in 2024, covering 38 provinces in Indonesia. This study examined six factors: per capita spending, access to potable water, mean years of schooling, access to adequate sanitation, college participation rate, and mean food expenditure. The findings show that the GWR model outperformed the conventional model, demonstrating greater explanatory power by accounting for 96.1% of the spatial variation in undernourishment and achieving the lowest AIC value of 176.7052. These findings highlight the need for region-specific food security policies, particularly in eastern Indonesia. The results can inform targeted government interventions and guide future spatial econometric research on food security
Bayesian Spatial Quantile Regression for Earthquake Risk Assessment and Insurance Pricing in Indonesia
Indonesia’s geographical location along the Pacific Ring of Fire makes it one of the most seismically active countries in the world, with earthquakes causing recurrent and significant economic losses. To address the need for more accurate and regionally sensitive insurance pricing, this study develops a Bayesian spatial quantile regression model that estimates the 90th percentile of earthquake-induced economic losses. Unlike conventional models that focus on mean losses, this approach captures the upper tail of the loss distribution, which is essential for designing risk financing instruments that can withstand catastrophic events. The model incorporates two main predictors: earthquake magnitude (on the Richter scale) and a provincial risk exposure index constructed from population and GDP per capita. Spatial effects are modelled using a Gaussian kernel with multiple bandwidths. Based on Leave-One-Out Cross-Validation, a bandwidth of 500 kilometers yields the best model performance, effectively capturing regional dependence in earthquake loss data. Historical data from 1930 to 2024 are used to estimate parameters via Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling with the No-U-Turn Sampler. Results indicate that both earthquake magnitude and socioeconomic exposure are significant drivers of high-end losses. For instance, the model estimates that West Sumatra and Yogyakarta could experience annual benefit payouts exceeding USD 300,000 in high-severity scenarios. Earthquake insurance premiums are then derived using the expected payout values and a 10% premium loading factor. Premium estimates range from USD 0 to over USD 50,000 across provinces, with 20 out of 34 provinces requiring positive premiums. This study contributes a novel modelling framework that integrates quantile regression, spatial weighting, and exposure-based risk assessment. The results provide a data-driven basis for setting premiums and allocating disaster risk financing more equitably across regions. Limitations include reliance on proxy variables for exposure and the exclusion of building-level vulnerability data, which may affect precision in highly localized assessments
