First Derivative Spectrophotometric Determination of Cholesterol and Triglyceride in Human Serum
Cholesterol is present in tissues and plasma lipoproteins either as free cholesterol or combined with a long chain fatty acid as cholesterol ester. Triglycerides are the simplest lipids constructed from fatty acids and glycerol. Derivative spectrophotometric techniques were used for determination of individual and simultaneous determination of cholesterol and triglyceride. First derivative spectrophotometric technique was used for determination of cholesterol and triglyceride in serum samples in the concentration ranges (10 – 100 μg/ml) for cholesterol with correlation coefficient 0.9983 and detection limit 2.9 μg/ml with good precision and accuracy basing upon measuring height at 218 nm depending upon the values of the relative standard deviation percentage (RSD %) and the relative error percentage (Error %) for ten replicate measurements of three different concentration and (15 – 150 μg/ml) for triglyceride with correlation coefficient 0.9972 and detection limit 5.5 μg/ml with good precision and accuracy basing upon measuring peak – to – baseline at 242 nm depending upon the values of the relative standard deviation percentage (RSD %) and the relative error percentage (Error %) for ten replicate measurements of three different concentration
Estimation of Vitamin D and some Hematological parameters among Women Refugees in Hawler Province
This experiment aimed at determination of vitamin D along with some Hematological parameters among women refugees from different camps and apparently healthy individuals in Hawler province; Kurdistan region of Iraq. 50 women refugees and 45 controls individual were studied between April and June, 2015. The results showed a lower level (p < 0.007) in vitamins D of women refugees as compared with the control group. Hematological parameters were considered white blood cell count (WBCs), Erythrocytes (RBCs), lymphocytes, platelet count, packed cell volume (PCV) and Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). Tests were performed after storing samples in EDTA contained tubes. The level of WBCs, RBCs, platelets count, PCV and lymphocyte were significantly lower (p < 0.05) than control groups. The level of ESR was significantly higher (p >0.05) among refugees. Present work states that Vitamin D status decreased significantly among women refugees that currently resettled in Erbil province; Kurdistan region where they are at higher risk to get further complications e.g musculoskeletal disorders and anemia. The paper suggests health facilities should be improved in the refugee camps of hawler province/Iraq
Engineering and Microstructures Characteristics of Low Calcium Fly Ash Based Geopolymer Concrete
This paper reports an experimental study on some mechanical properties and durability characteristics for geopolymer concrete. The mechanical properties were (compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and bonding strength). While the durability characteristics included (permeability, water absorption and exposure to sulphate attack). Also study in-depth microstructure of concrete by the SEM test. All these tests conducted for both geopolymer and normal concrete at 28 days, to show the difference in behavior for the tow concretes. Results show that the compressive strength for geopolymer concrete gain most of its strength at early age as compared with normal concrete, also the results indicate that the bond performance of geopolymer concrete higher than normal concrete by 18.7% and thus proves its application for construction. Geopolymer concrete have good durability comparison with normal concrete, it has shown less permeability, water absorption than normal concrete with high resistance to sulphate attack compared with normal concrete. In addition to that SEM test results show difference in microstructure between geopolymer and normal concrete
Wavelet Transform based Score Fusion for Face Recognition using SIFT Descriptors
One of the main areas in computer vision is automatic face recognition which deals with detecting human face autonomously. Developments and the progress in the field of face recognition have shown that many face recognition systems and applications the automated methods outperform humans. The conventional Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) is used in face recognition where they provide high performances. However, this performance can be improved further by transforming the input into different domains before applying SIFT algorithm. Hence, we apply Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) or Gabor Wavelet Transform (GWT) at the input face images, which provides denser and extra information to be used by the conventional SIFT algorithm. Matching scores of SIFT from each subimage is fused before making final decision. Simulations show that the proposed approaches based on wavelet transforms using SIFT provides very high performance compared to the conventional algorithm
Developing a Novel Approach for Evaluation Performance of the Engineering Departments Managers Using 360° Technique
This paper deals with creating evaluation criteria for the planning, design, execution managers in Housing Directorate, which is very important for the service quality in work. Results of the study proved the possibility of the use of 360° technique in evaluating the performance of managers in the Housing Directorate, which means the possibility of circulation in the construction sector. Moreover, the study showed in general of gaps between self-evaluation and individual evaluation process, which indicates the need for an organizational culture that encourages objectivity in passing judgments and accepts the views of others. The existence of negative gaps in responses between the parties of the evaluation process appears the manager's overstatement in the existence of the evaluation criteria in them. Therefore, the final degree of evaluation was (4.28) v. Good for planning manager, (4.56) excellent for design manager and (3.84) v. Good for execution manager
Green Finance and Islamic Finance
This study examines Islamic finance and green finance. Islamic finance is a system based on Sharia law that prohibits interest, uncertainty, and investment in unlawful sectors defined by Islam. Green finance is the financing investments that promote renewable energy, sustainable developments, and environmental products or policies. This paper shows that although Islamic finance and green finance have been showing an increasing trend in the world in the last two decades, these trends are observed in different regions and countries. The portion of the Murabahah among the Islamic financial products is very high compared the other Islamic financial instruments. This phenomenon can be an explanation why Islamic finance and green finance have showed an increasing trend in different regions and countries

Importance of Data Analysis on Achieving the Organizational Goals during the Short Term Strategic Plan: Case of Service Quality and Students’ Satisfaction Level at Ishik University
Goal determination plays an important role at any organization in order to draw a route and follow. An organization can achieve the organizational objectives by that way. This empirical research was performed at the new Sulaimani campus of Ishik University. At Ishik University new campus in Sulaimani, the management determined the target satisfaction level of the students as 70% from different aspects such as student affairs, accounting, academic departments, dean of students, and cafeteria. The parameters of evaluation were based on the SERVPERF questionnaire of Parasaraman, et. al., 1985. Originality of this research, each unit and department that interacts with the students has been evaluated from the students’ satisfaction point of view. Focusing and tracking the satisfaction based on these parameters, comparing the first and second semester results, the goals were achieved significantly
The Role of Islamic Finance and Banking for Kurdistan in the Next Decade
The Kurdistan Regional Government is recognized as a semiautonomous region in northern Iraq. Although Kurdistan is in the Middle East where the region hosts enormous conflicts and uncertainty, it is differentiated in terms of security, stability and democracy. Kurdistan is in the 51st place in oil production and 58th place in natural gas production however it is 9th place in oil-proved reserves and it is in 11th place in natural gas-proved reserves. These statistics put forth that Kurdistan region has a potential to show a great economic growth. Investment opportunities are going to diffuse in many different fields in the short and medium term. All these facts and expectations show that the banking system especially Islamic finance and banking due to the religious perspective of the Muslim community in Kurdistan is going to play a crucial role in the path of the development of the region like in the early stage of the other developing countries. This paper analyses the short history of Kurdistan’s financial system and Islamic banking, current situation, and tries to state challenges and opportunities of Islamic banking and finance in Kurdistan in near future. Since there are very few studies for Kurdistan region this paper will contribute to the literature and future studies
The Effects of Interactive Whiteboard on Teaching Geometry
The wide use of interactive whiteboard in the classroom has been a significant source of motivation in teaching and learning process, and consequently leads to better achievement. Likewise, interactive whiteboard has enormously contributed to geometry teaching in that it has created a relaxing learning environment for learners where learners can study geometry in a stress-free atmosphere. This paper aims to investigate the facilitating role of interactive whiteboard in geometry teaching. Furthermore, the study explores how interactive whiteboard motivates learners to achieve better in geometry
