Corruption and Macroeconomic Indicators of Turkey: A Comparison of 2011-2012-2013 and 2014-2015-2016

    Get PDF
The corruption perception index has been announced by Transparency International since 1995 and it is highly considered by most of the countries. Turkey showed a success in terms of corruption index in years 2011, 2012, and 2013 but the following three years Turkey’s scores declined. This paper compared macroeconomic indicators of Turkey between 2011 to 2013 which are success periods for Turkey in terms of corruption index and 2014 to 2016 which are failure periods. Interesting results are observed after comparing these two periods. Inflation and unemployment rose in failure periods. Export value and import value indices were also lower in these periods. Industrial Production Index (IPI) was worse than the success periods. However more houses were sold and moreover number of poor people and poverty rate were decreased when Turkey showed poor performance in terms of corruption index. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and total share of tax in GDP did not show any significant changes in these two periods

Securities exchange assumes an imperative job in the financial improvement of a nation. The examination is directed on an Indian securities exchange and two divisions have been considered. To watch the development, short interim execution of Auto and steel part specialized investigation has been estimated for a span of a year. The different test has been led on expected return and hazard. Amid the examination, it was seen that two portfolios that are Auto-area and steel division, Auto-segment portfolio is useful for the venture in light of its relatively favorable position of Risk and Return. Return will be higher i,e 124% in portfolio “A” and even risk involved in it

Incidence of Microascus/Scopulariopsis Species Complex (Microascales:Ascomycota) in Fitted Carpet Dust From Residential Houses and Mosques in Duhok Province, Iraq

One hundred samples of carpet dusts (50 samples from residential houses and 50 samples from mosques) were surveyed for the presence of the potentially pathogenic fungi Microascus/Scopulariopsis species complex (Microascales:Ascomycota). The samples were collected from different sites in Duhok province,Kurdistan region,Iraq, during September, 2014 to May, 2015. Four species of Microascus (M.brunneosporus, M.cirrosus, M.pyramidus and M.paisii) and three species of Scopulariopsis (S.asperula, S.brevccaulis and S.flava) were identified. Acaulium acremonium (=Scopulariopsis acremonium) was also detected. The diagnostic features of the reported species based on micro-morphological features of their reproductive structures were provided. M.brunneosporus represents a new record for the Iraqi mycobiota. The identified species were reported in several publications as potentially pathogenic to human

The Nexus between Financial Development and Economic Growth: The Case of Turkey

    Get PDF
Examining the possible nexus between financial development and economic growth is one of the hot topics in the finance. The relationship between financial development and economic growth is studied for the case of Turkey in this paper. Data interval includes from third quarter of 2002 to first quarter of 2015. Vector Autoregressive Model, Johansen Cointegration and Granger causality tests are used to get evidence for the possible relationship between those variables. Results showed that there is a bidirectional Granger causes in the short run and there is a one way Granger causes from economic growth to financial development in the long-run

Regression Analysis of Stock Returns By Filtering with Simple Moving Averages

    Get PDF
Stock market prices are affected by industry performance, company news, and world news, political and economic changes. News from company and news about world events play an important role in the direction of stock markets. The analysts have different opinions about estimation of stock prices and stock returns. Some techniques have been used for filtering series in time series analysis, using these methods can give more accurate estimations of stock returns before using regression methods to predict stock returns

Developing the Teaching Profession: Factors Influencing Teachers’ Performance

    Get PDF
Teachers always seek for possible ways to develop their teaching. There are many ways teachers can develop professionally. They can do this by generating new ideas or thinking deeply about reformulating what they do in class. Nevertheless, they cannot fully improve professional development on their own. Teachers can learn with the help of other people who have knowledge and experience in teaching and learning. They learn from in-service training programs that teach new techniques and approaches. Teacher development is a long-term process that requires systematic planning. Professional advancement in the teaching profession is based on some factors. This paper defines the characteristics of teachers’ professional development and aims to explain the factors it hinges upon

What Global Education Should Focus on

    Get PDF
As globalization raises new threats, so does the need to be globally skilled. The ability of teachers to be globally capable will allow them to participate in and explore solutions to issues in society. In the 21st century people are faced with more complicated events than they used to be and their global ability to interpret these things in confidence is more important than it used to be. Teachers have the key role to encourage people to deal with global issues as they are at the center of learning. Teachers are at the heart of every educational system. In order to help people to be aware of global issues, their professional development holds a very significant place. If teachers are not educated at a sufficient quality level, they are not expected to find solutions to global problems. This paper defines global education from different perspectives and stresses the elements global education should focus on

    Optimization in a Networked Economy

    Get PDF
An age of network has been living for the last decades. The information technologies have been used by hundreds of millions of users. These technologies are enabling to connect businesses and economic activities. One of the characteristics of the networked economy is the amount of data that produced due to the interlinking of firms, individuals, processes by businesses, and economic activities. Another issue with the networked economy is the complexity of the data. Extraction of the knowledge from the networked economy has challenges by the traditional approach since data is large scale, second decentralized, and third they connect many heterogeneous agents. The challenges can be overcome by the new optimization methods including human element or the social interactions with technological infrastructure

Effect of Different Environment on Physical Properties of Plantanus orientalis L. in Erbil Governorate

    Get PDF
Influences of different environment on some physical properties of Plantanus orientalis L. grown in Erbil Governorate were examined. In each location three trees were selected, height, DBH, tree ages, number of branches/trees were determined in addition to physical properties in each location. There was a significant variation for all physical properties with different height of trees in Shaqlawa location in comparison to Sami Abdulrahman Park. The highest number were recorded for specific gravity, density of dry volume, density of green volume and moisture content between different locations in height (1) 0.62 0.73 gm/cm3, 0.95 gm/cm3 95.59 % respectively. In addition, the highest number was recorded of thermal conductivity in H3 L1 (3.35) and volumetric shrinking was found in H2 L1 (71.56 gm/cm3). Finally, the highest number was found for volumetric swelling in H1L1 (104.74 gm/cm3). It can be summarized that for the further research, it is important not only above properties to be measured, but also anatomical characters need to be taken into consideration for better understanding Plantanus orientalis L. evaluation under different environments

Linear Modelling for Sustainable Transportation System

    Get PDF
In this paper, the four principles of sustainability and the limitations of high and low quality fuel energy have been considered to simulate the transportation systems. The environmental impacts of transportation systems are related with populations and technology which all lead to unsustainable impact on environment. Five means of transportation systems have been considered in this model, those transportations systems are bicycle, water, taxi, bus and metro. The resulting ecological footprint effect expressed in Anti-Sustainable Impact is being used to reflect those means of transport on environment. A simplified approach to those means is represented in the derived linear model by Bicycle Sustainable Unit BSU. The equivalent effects of different transportation systems on environment are represented graphically. Guidelines for such results are considered to optimize the sustainability of transportations. Conclusive remarks have been drawn accordingly to achieve safe and sustainable guidelines to be implemented in future traffic and transportation systems and their deployments in cities
