Full text linkOne of the main indicator of the systematic organization of terminology in any scientific field is paradigmatic relations, including synonymic, between term units that not only indicate the corresponding concepts but also convey tiered links between them. The presence of synonymy in the natural-museum's term system is an indication that this term system is dynamic, open, actively developing and needs the further normalization. Synonyms do not meet the standards of the Ukrainian language and those that interfere with the perception of information should be eliminated. This article analyzes the peculiarities of synonymous relations in the studied term system, and the terms-synonyms at the semantic and structural-grammatical level, describes the word-forming variability

Full text linkRozprawa dotyczy zjawiska trójjęzyczności Ukraińców mieszkających w Polsce i Ukrainie. W dotychczasowej literaturze językoznawczej i glottodydaktycznej problematyka ta nie była przedmiotem szczegółowych badań. Celem badań nad trójjęzycznością ukraińsko-rosyjsko-polską Ukraińców niepolskiego pochodzenia było stworzenie różnych modeli stawania się i bycia trójjęzycznym. Badania, które miały charakter ankietowy objęły grupę Ukraińców liczącą 1 160 respondentów. Rezultatem podjętych badań jest monografia „Trójjęzyczność ukraińsko-rosyjsko-polska Ukraińców niepolskiego pochodzenia. Największą zaletą przeprowadzonych badań jest, obok aktualności tematyki, także zakres obejmujący różne grupy społeczne oraz rzetelna i drobiazgowa interpretacja bogatego materiału gromadzonego przez kilka lat, a w wypadku studiów przypadków – obserwacji sięgających wstecz nawet ponad 20 lat. / The dissertation concerns the phenomenon so far not subjected to
studies of trilingualism of Ukrainians living both in Poland and in
Ukraine. The study was attended by non-Polish descent persons, for
whom Polish is a foreign language. The aim of the research on Ukrainian-Russian-Polish trilingualism of Ukrainians of non-Polish origin was to create various models of becoming and being trilingual. The survey research covered a group of Ukrainians of 1,160 respondents. The result of the research undertaken is the monograph "Ukrainian-Russian-Polish trilingualism of Ukrainians of non-Polish origin. The greatest advantage of the conducted research is, in addition to the topicality of the subject, also the scope covering various social groups and the reliable and detailed interpretation of the rich material collected over several years, and in the case of case studies - observations going back even over 20 years

No full textÓsmy tom obszernej (dziesięcioczęściowej) monografii, opracowanej przez slawistów polskich (przy współpracy uczonych z kilku ośrodków zagranicznych) w ramach grantu NCN OPUS (2014/13/B/HS2/01057). Całości nadana została forma leksykonu, którego główny korpus składa się z haseł-artykułów na temat historii 27 wybranych idei najpierw antycypujących, a następnie modelujących procesy modernizacyjne w regionie: agraryzm, anarchizm, ewolucja, humanizm, historia, kapitalizm, klerykalizacja, konfesje, konserwatyzm, kształcenie, kultura, liberalizm, naród, nowoczesność, ojczyzna, oświata, oświecenie, polityka, postęp, racjonalizm, reformacja, religia, rewolucja, sekularyzacja, socjalizm, tradycja, uniwersalizm. Ich zmieniająca się pod wpływem lokalnych warunków semantyka została przebadana odrębnie dla każdego z siedmiu współczesnych krajów południowej Słowiańszczyzny: Bośni i Hercegowiny, Bułgarii, Chorwacji, Czarnogóry, Macedonii, Serbii i Słowenii. W tomie ósmym prezentujemy opracowania trzech idei - kapitalizmu, ojczyzny i polityki - które leżą u podstaw europejskich dyskursów modernizacyjnych i antymodernizacyjnych oraz europejskiego imaginarium kondycji intelektualnej człowieka jako kluczowego aspektu tworzenia się społeczeństw. Czytelnik znajdzie tu wiele syntetycznie wyrażonych, oryginalnych i opartych na źródłach przemyśleń badaczy na temat zmagań kultur południowosłowiańskich z nowoczesnością.The eighth volume of the extensive (ten-volume) monograph by Polish Slavic studies scholars (with contributions from scholars from a number of foreign research centres), made possible by an NCN OPUS grant (2014/13/B/HS2/01057). In terms of form, the monograph is a lexicon, the main body of which consists of entries-articles on the history of 27 selected ideas that anticipated and shaped the processes of modernization in the region: agrariarism, anarchism, capitalism, clericalization, confessions, conservatism, culture, education, enlightenment, evolution, history, homeland, humanism, liberalism, modernity, nation, politics, progress, rationalism, reformation, religion, revolution, schooling, secularization, socialism, tradition, and universalism. Their semantics, change able as it was in response to local conditions, was investigated separately for each of the seven current states of the southern Slavdom: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. Volume 8 presents the three ideas – capitalism, homeland, and politics – that are at the foundations of the European discourses of modernization and anti-modernization, of the European imaginary of the human intellectual condition as the key to the formation of societies. Full text linkThe work is devoted to the research of terminology of various branches of knowledge in modern Ukrainian newspaper text. The term “terminology”, which many modern researchers use, today has considerably expanded its scope. In addition to naming the concepts of a particular scientific field, it denotes the term units used outside the terminology field in an unusual context for them. The newspaper text of socio-political direction is and remains the basic component of the media. Despite the powerful development of modern media such as the Internet, television, radio, the newspaper remains one of the types of informative sources, if not in paper, then electronically. Struggling for their existence, for circulation and accessibility, journalists seek to make the language of presentation interesting, original, emotionally colored. One of the methods of updating, modernizing the newspaper text was the use of professional vocabulary to reflect contemporary socio-political realities on both the Ukrainian and world scale. The use of term units outside the language of science, the transfer of elements of scientific style to journalism provokes their lexical, semantic modifications under the influence of external and intra-language factors. The work specifies the specifics of the functioning of terminology in the modern newspaper text. There are two main groups of terminology that are active in the newspaper lexicon: terminology tags, which are used in the direct sense (that is, in their nominative-defining function) and terminology, used in the figurative sense, which acquire emotional and expressive connotations. The paper describes the dynamics of lexical-semantic processes, which accompany the term vocabulary in the nominative-defining function. This, in particular, actualization of terminology, which was previously pushed out to the periphery of the language system; activation – an increase in the frequency of the use of individual linguistic units in connection with the needs caused by extralinguistic factors
