Teatr rosyjski XX wieku wobec tradycji (kontynuacje, zerwania, transformacje)
The Russian theatre of the second half of the 20th century confronted mainly its own past: the work of Stanislavsky, Meyerhold, Vakhtangov. It almost a set rule for theatre artists to openly declare their attachment to heritage of the past. Katarzyna Osińska take a closer look at this heritage: theatrical ideas, particular techniques and methods as well as the elusive subject matter that is the ethos or atmosphere that guided the experiments undertaken by the pioneers of 20th-century theatre, especially the studio theatre. Also analysed are ways in which tradition has been transmitted: directly from the masters (or their pupils), via literature, and through second-hand accounts.

The article deals with the role of comment (as a kind of paratext), which gains a particular status in translation, becoming an additional medium between the author/translator/editor and the primary text and the secondary recipient as well as their cultural universe. This seems important because the translated text is to function in a new environment, a new cultural space; it is supposed to find its way to a new audience, and thus this type of expressions “support” translation in its most important role of a link in cross-cultural communication. The role, nature, and importance of paratext-comments (introductions, prefaces, postscripts) have been examined in the context of translations of Slovenian literature in Poland basing on selected examples. Both the comments of experts-researchers, as well as interpreters themselves, have been taken into consideration. The author notes that, from the ethical point of view, a commentary becomes contributive to the slow process of the recipient realizing the presence of an interpreter and inter-subjective nature of translation, extracts the unfamiliar categories of perception and understanding of the world, brings them closer, making the gesture of seeking “imagined communities”

Структурні типи аналітичних українських термінів лісівництва
It is the analysis of term structure that is a critically important condition for a comprehensive and detailed study of term systems. The purpose of the present article is to determine the structural types of Ukrainian forestry terms, to analyze the structural characteristics of Ukrainian analytical forestry terms, and to establish the structural models of two-component terms within Ukrainian forestry terminology. The use of combinatorial methods of terminology studies, in particular, modeling, makes it possible to distinguish the structural models from phrasal terms that express the morphological composition of components, as well as the location of elements in a given term
ІСТОРИЧНА ТЯГЛІСТЬ РОЗВИТКУ УКРАЇНСЬКОЇ НАУКОВОЇ ТЕРМІНОЛОГІЇ
One way of expressing scientific concepts are terms, most of which originated in the pre-literate period in oral language to name objects discovered in the process of mankind practical activity. The range of problems of the article is related to the research of the establishment, systematization, and regimentation of the Ukrainian scientific terminology, which development began in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The main stages of its development are associated with the activities of 3 institutions: Shevchenko Scientific Society (hereinafter – NTSh 1873-1939) in Lviv, Institute of the Ukrainian Language of UAS (hereinafter IUNM, 20's – early 30's 20 century), Academy of Sciences (now – National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, hereinafter NASU). NTSh main objective was to "enable the development of maloruskoyi literature." I. Verkhratskiy is considered as the founder of the Ukrainian scientific terminology who made the first attempt to systematize the existing and creating new terminology in 6 editions of "Beginnings to the Coding of Natural Folk Nomenclature and Terminology Collected from People". Scientists of NTSh have laid the foundations of natural (I. Verkhratskyi), physical (V. Levytskyi), chemical (R. Tsehelskyi, I. Horbatchevskyi), juridical (O. Ohonovskyi, K. Levytskyi), sociopolitical (I. Franko, M. Hrushevskyi), medical (Ye. Ozarkevych) terminologies. Development of the Ukrainian terminology in Eastern Ukraine started after 1905 due to the weakening of the imperial government prohibition of the Ukrainian language. It is associated with the creation of societies "Prosvita" in Kiev, Kharkiv, Odessa, Poltava and other Ukrainian cities, the establishment in 1907 of Ukrainian Scientific Society (hereinafter - UNT), headed by Hrushevskyi and the formation the IUNM in 1921, which first priority was to guide the developing process of the Ukrainian language and formation of scientific terminology. Consequences of tireless work of IUNM staff are recorded in 24 dictionaries on different branches of science, technology, and culture. With the elimination of IUNM in September 1930, terminological work in Ukraine almost stopped. A revival of terminological work occurred in the late 50's - early 60's of the 20th century when the Academy of Sciences created the Dictionary Commission, whose task was to develop the basic principles of preparation and publication of branch dictionaries. Started by Dictionary Commission activity is now successfully continued by Scientific Terminology Committee of NAS and its working philological group, later scientific terminology department of the Ukrainian Language Institute of NASU, which became the main authority for organizing and regimentation of the Ukrainian terminology. Work in terminology is held in 2 directions: research of separate terminological systems (investigated nearly 150) and the establishment of branch dictionaries of various types and purposes. Conceptual principles of terms formation, created in mentioned periods by scientists of different scientific schools of Western and Eastern Ukraine, contributed to the further formation of a qualitatively new terminology
Linguistic and Nonverbal Abilities over Time in a Child Case of 22q11 Deletion Syndrome
The aim of this study is to profile the cognitive–linguistic performance of a male child (P.I.) with 22q11 deletion syndrome (22q11DS). Specifically, receptive and expressive language performance and nonverbal IQ (NVIQ) are described at two different time points—when P.I. was 6 and 10 years of age, respectively. Using case-based methodology, P.I.’s NVIQ and performance on global and structured language tasks are compared to typically developing children of the same chronological age and school-aged children with specific language impairment (SLI). The results show no improvement in NVIQ or vocabulary, but his morphosyntactic abilities did improve over time. The findings are discussed in relation to two hypotheses, either that the profile of language impairment in children with 22q11DS is distinctive to the syndrome or that there is co-morbidity with SLI. This is particularly important for speech–language therapists who have a primary role in diagnosing communication deficits and providing treatment
Teologia spisku: drobna przyjemność w grze suwerennością
The conspiracy mission of Marin Držić is being analysed in the context of sovereignty and political state of exception, from Schmitt to Agamben, as well as in the light of recent historical interpretations, from Jeličić and Pupačić to Tatarin and Kunčević. Držić’s letters to Cosimo I. and Francesco Medici are thus situated in the context of renaissance diplomatic thought. Based on some possibilities in their Croatian stylizations (Čale vs. Batistić), their political and theological semantics is revised
Pisati da bi se shvatilo: Sarajevo i Chicago na engleskom, bosanskom i poljskom
The paper discusses Aleksandar Hemon's literary oeuvre through the prism of reception of The Book of My Lives in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Poland. In the present paper, we analyse the function of paratextual elements on the basis of the translations of the Bosnian-American author from English into Bosnian and Polish taking into consideration the fact that the author wrote in English, but reflecting on his Bosnian childhood, his youth, and the period after he moved to the United States of America. The present paper recognizes and emphasizes that Hemon, who writes in English without forgetting his mother tongue, is using subtle emphasis to describe the world and his place in it by means of calm but self-confident expression. The paratextual elements are used to direct and decompress, which enhances the experience of living and writing at two different places and in two languages so that once the experience has been transferred, its language is comprehensible, inspirational, and familiar to the reader. The paper analyses the title, biographical notes and other paratextual elements the editors and publishers selected to present the cultural aspects, the relevance, the quality of artistic persuasion and accomplishment, and the overall literary value as the truly essential value of this and all other literary works the role of which is to illuminate relations through experiences and contribute to understanding but also changing the human and the world
